As usual, we will see next year part of this post coming to reality.
On another note, I don't know if you know about the Carbon3D.
It's a new approach to 3D printing using light, oxygen and resin to produce smooth prototyping, and even manufacturing.
They claim to be 25x to 100x faster than most 3D printers on the market.
You can see it in action with much more detailed explanation on their TED Talk here:
This is interesting :3
Would be a nice accessory for Mirai nendo.
Definitely NOT on my watch list...
The animation isn't that great in the trailer.
True it's fun to see "moefication" of some things like the Chtulu mythos, the mathematical theorem or the quantum physics
but the KanColle verse doesn't appeal to me. I fear it will be another comedy anime void of scenarii, character development
and good animation.
All I see is another Strike Witches (series I despise, and yes I watched it) to compel to the urge of some.
The first anime I watched were Saint Seya, Dragonball Z and Macross (Robotech version).
The anime which hooked me up to the otakulture would be Slayers and the first I have recorded would be Plastic Little (I think I have the VHS somewhere).
As the anime era I think 1980 - 2000. Most of the series I love are from those, Macross, Hokuto no Ken, Gundam (my first being Wing like most westerners), GaoGaiGar (one of the best voice actor). From then I started to watch all the mecha anime I could find (real and super robot). I continue to search and watch older series. I watched other shows too but as far as I can remember I always hated slice of life anime: most didn't have something I searched either history, creativity or character development.
Other shows I hold deeply in my heart: Vandread (first one to nicely mix 3D with anime), Fate Stay Night, Kanon (both version), Air, Clannad, Kannazuki no Miko, Yami to boushi to hon no tabibito, Utawarerumono, To Heart, Nanoha, and more...
Well you can check all my watched list here: http://bit.ly/16DcXpz
Jing from King of Bandit Jing. One of the first anime to hook me on the manga.
Best two Macross series (event though Macross+ is OAV series)
Macross+ for the fight scene
Macross 7 for the music
SEED Destiny doesn't exist.
Jeanne from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne.
Believe it or not but she is the reincarnation of Joanne of Arc
Yurika from Martian Successor Nadesico and Mikoto from GaoGaiGar
Betterman, one great show in the same universe as GaoGaiGar (some side characters are the same)
Uchu Senkan Yamato
Allenby from G Gundam
Super Nana in France
(and one of the worst choices of words for an opening in France)
GiGi in France
Magical Princess Minky Momo in Japan
This movie will be a must see.
I'm interested with the reactions of the mecha fans and/or authors in Japan about it.
The Destroid Tomahawk always reminded me of the Warhammer in Battletech.
I have still so much to see there.
Need to visit Hiroshima peace memorial, Nagasaki, Ieyasu tomb (north of Tokyo), all the Hokkaido part. And then go to explore a bit more the south of the Chiba prefecture.
I still need to go to Okinawa too...
Already did spring and winter, need to try summer and autumn to see more side of Japan...
