20Mbps Download and upload... and I can't complain because I'm probably on the 10% or less of people here in Brazil that can actually get that speed in a stable manner, specially the upload speed. xD Fiber has been a blessing here...

LOL, I thought of commenting something when I saw you were thinking about getting a NAS Danny, but ended up not doing it... but you followed what I was going to comment anyways. xD I'm hoping you didn't get Seagate drives for it though. Long story short, I lost 2x3Tb drives simultaneously in early 2015, RAID 1, on my Synology DS214play... ended up having to pay for software to recover the data, and then buy another couple of HDDs of another brand. Not something most people should worry about, I was just extremely unlucky. I don't actually use most of the functionality of the NAS (it's packed full with things you could use it for), but if you need any help with it, let me know. Other than that hiccup, things have been running smoothly a couple of years now for me personally. I've been using it to backup stuff from some personal devices, and then distribute it into a few different free cloud storage accounts. Combination of Synology Cloud Sync and Cloud Storage. Just works great!

That's awesome Danny! I'll join my praying forces with Mirai for a future release of Sony A7s II... that'll probably be the point when I'm making a full switch. xD

Ouch! Sad to hear about that Danny, I hope things get better. I also have a herniated disc though it's nowhere near as bad as your case. Back when I was about 18yrs old, I distinctively remember when the problem was triggered. I was carrying around an old 17" monitor during my Computer Science course, when I felt something snap on my back that I felt running down to the tip of my left toe. Spent a couple of days mostly bedridden but nothing that much serious. Felt like a bad back pain. Since then, I had several clashes with back pains. It'd just happen couple of times a year and I'd blame it on all sorts of things: too much exercise, too little, a sofa, a chair, bad mattress, stress, carrying too much weight, staying still for too long, having to keep standing up for too long, etc etc. Couple of years ago (I was 33yrs old) another episode started, but then it got worse. My entire left leg was going half numb, and it started reaching my left arm too. Went to the doc, he explained to me that my herniated disc busted, and that my nerves were spilling and getting clamped to my left side. It wasn't extremely serious, but something had to be done. Doc did not recommend surgery or invasive procedures, but I had to do something. And of course he explained that all those bouts I had with back pain were just warnings the body was giving me that my routine would eventually make things worse. Luckly enough, a full month of physiotherapy sessions, couple of times a week, and I made a full recovery. I'm back to lifting weights (though nothing that forces my back), but not confident enough (admitedly, also because of extreme lazyness) to start running again. One out of the ordinary thing I had couple of years previous to the herniated disc worth mentioning: I lost around 12Kgs of weight after I started running for the first time in my life. But then final exams/papers came in my journalism course, so during that year I just stopped running, regained all the weight that I had lost, and got some more. xD I think the sudden shifts only worsened the conditions for my weak back muscles. I'm shure it was already recommended for you and I know it doesn't work for everyone, but the physiotherapy I had was specific for herniated discs. It wasn't RPG, acupuncture, shiatsu, or several other things that people usually recommended for herniated discs... I ended up not trying any of those and going directly to physiotherapy since it was a direct recommendation from my diagnosis by the doctor. It's a light sort of exercise, more like series of weird stretches in very specific positions, that were listed to me after my physiotherapist analysed exactly in what way my herniated disc split. He said that depending on where the discs were busted and on how that... internal nerve kinda fluid spilled out, the exercises varies. Right on the first movements I started feeling the numbness gradually going away. It would come back after a while, but overtime it just went away - according to the doc, half because of gradual recovering, half because of the recommended stretches. I have to admit that I've been abusing the whole thing, and your post serves as a wake up call to me. Doc said it'll never completely go away, so I have to loose weight, keep doing the stretches, and do some gradual stregth training for my back muscles - which are weak. But I've been neglecting those plenty since my recovery. In any case, again, hope for your recovery, and best of luck for us! :D

hmmm thanks for the review Danny! Very interesting device... the water resistance is tempting! I've also been considering what smartphone I should get now, but my priorities are different. OS doesn't really matter to me, though I'm shure it matters to you. I'm currently sporting a Nokia 808, and I'll eventually make the jump for 1020 as soon as it's available in my country. Windows Mobile it is. I'm shure that it's at least better than Symbian Belle, as much as I'm shure it's worse than Android or iOS... but oh well - it'll hopefully be enough for my needs. The photo quality on the Z1 is pretty impressive though! I thought it would be kinda similar to HTC One and S4 due to sensor size. I mean, it's still kinda grainy, and it shows on the test pictures, but still way better than most cameras... dunno how it'd compare with the 5S though. 5S shots are very impressive too, plus the 120fps slow-mo thing. I do understand why you'd not get it though. Restrictiveness of the environment is one of the big reasons why I can't get it too.

And this here is the reason why I had to go back to a car lifestyle in Brazil... in the couple of years I tried going public transport only, I had the flu basically 3 times a month because of this. It was hell.

Harsh truth is: There are worse than that. Seems at least they picked a kinda normal guy with a relatively clean room (if it wasn't fake, that is). On the other hand, there are many who don't go to such extremes. And then, when you think about it: Isn't this true to all sorts of hobbies out there? Mass media should be more concious when they slap a label based on one case alone for an entire community or category. It's not only misrepresenting society, but also generating social stigma where it's not really needed. Remember people: Everyone is a bit strange given a certain perspective. But oh well, that's how things goes... mass media and society in general seems to always be searching for scapegoats to all their problems. I do remember not long ago when gamers were the target (in fact, they still largely are, but way less than a decade ago). Important message to be taken though, if any, is that radicalism can be quite harmful or dangerous. That said, coming from a brazilian standpoint, I'd rather be labeled an otaku or gamer with the worst connotations possible 1000x times rather than a soccer fan, soap opera fan, reality show fan, among others. No matter how weird people might think and feel otakus are, there are tons of "fans" of other things out there that caused much more harm to society in general. Just think about religious extremists, fans of the garbage most TV networks put on these days to satisfy, violent sports fans who often end up beating each other and causing public property damage after games, and so forth and so on. These are also extreme cases, of course... but with that perspective in mind, what right has mass media or society to judge people based on their hobbies alone?

Well, to tell the truth, it's not that they are getting too expensive... But exchange rates right now are too high. So I end up having to pay almost double the price I paid some years ago, which was already far too high for most people to even consider. Exchange rates pile up to shipping plus absurd import taxes we have in Brazil making figures a very expensive luxury hobby to maintain. Just to give an approximate idea, a Nendoroid can easily sum up to the price of 25+ full course meals. 10 medium sized books. Stuff like that. Most anime fans I know have at most half a dozen of figures in their collection, mostly from their most favorite shows, which are usually worldwide mainstream titles such as One Piece. And half of them might be chinese rip offs and/or gashapon sized. They all want GoodSmile stuff among other great quality brands, but they are simply too expensive to get in Brazil (not the makers fault I guess... The original japanese pricing sounds pretty reasonable to me). I don't think too much choice is a problem... Shure it'll dilute sales, but overall having different choices is a good thing. I'm still hoping for the market to grow up enough so we can see more figures of classic titles.

Love the genre, love Hidamari Sketch, specially for the unique artstyle and animation. Will definitely get this figure, though GoodSmile really needs to add a huge wide sized face for this one... They can also go costume crazy with Yoshinoya sensei...

Just finished watching ep3 and Danny, I must say: Excellent, awesome, incredible work! Really mean it. Image quality, editing, settings, camera work, script... everything shows really well the hard work you and staff has been putting into the show! Been recommending it for everyone, even people who are not necessarily into anime/figure/manga culture, but people interested in japanese culture in general. I've watched several documentaries about Japan so far, and I can say I've never seen anything that displays the themes so clearly as Culture Japan does. It's no wonder you get so many contacts from embassies and others. xD Congrats! As a video editor wannabe myself, guess I can say I'm hoping to work with something close to Culture Japan in the future... it's really inspiring!

Problem with these, as I see it, is that you end up tied with those nespresso bullets... so the coffee maker isn't that much expensive, but you end up paying a lot for the coffee itself.
