We had a public holiday in Japan last Monday and I thought we would get away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo for a change.
Decided to go down south to a place called Izu Atagawa - about 30 mins from here to Yokohama and then another 2 hours on the Odoriko train to Izu Atagawa.
Stayed at a traditional Japanese Hotel/Ryokan called Atagawa Kan which had the public baths, Kaiseki dinner and the whole Japanese shebang.
Wandered around on the beach at 5am to watch the sunrise. There is not much apart from the sea and sand so don't expect too much if you are visiting - you should go if you want to just do nothing.
