We talked about surgery the other day so today lets talk about makeup. Question for boys: Do you prefer your girls with our without makeup. Question for girls: What do you think about boys who wear make up - many boys in Japan do and I'm not talking about the folks on TV. The Japanese word for "no makeup" is "suppin" [すっぴん] Via Neta.

Another one we've spoken about but the better pics are up at GoodSmile and Hobby Stock. Dont know much about the game at all. How special is it? Original text from Panther below.
Continuing on Danny's Lineage II figure post, GSC has put up an official listing with a better picture of the Human Mystic (or Human Mage) from the game Lineage 2. The detail on her dress and weapon is pretty good, and the quality from this image looks nice too. But I still wonder about the final product. What about you? The price is a little steep too, for a 1/8 figure. Thanks to this post in Figure / GK for the info.

CowBoy Bebop Live Action http://www.dannychoo.com/detail/mac/eng/image/5537/CowBoy+Bebop+Live+Action.html
iF Magazine has the news...
We caught up with producer-extraordinaire Erwin Stoff at the NBC TCAs where he was promoting his upcoming updated-David-and-Goliath-based show KINGS. When asked about other projects he is currently working on, Stoff, let slip some very juicy news about a very beloved anime franchise. “I’m developing COWBOY BEBOP for Fox, but doing it as a live-action film, so I’m working on that at the moment,” Stoff tells iF. “I’m really excited to be working on it, and it’s in the really early stages. We just signed it the other day.” “I have such an enormous admiration for its creators, that our first and foremost concern is going to be a real degree of faithfulness to the tone of the movie, to the mix of genres, and so on and so forth,” he says. “When I met with them in Japan, one of the first things that I brought up was the experience that we had on A SCANNER DARKLY, and how hard we worked to remain faithful to Philip K. Dick, and that was our big concern here.”
I get the feeling that more anime-to-hollywood tie ups are to come. Would be interesting to see one for Gundam or Macross done by the Transformers guy. For those who have not seen Cowboy Bebop then make efforts to see it - its quite brilliant - OP here. Image via Moe Imouto.

Sadly, Normal Form Shana is Dengeki Daiou magazine September 2008 exclusive mail order. Which means that you need a special coupon from the magazine to get her. As for the Flama Haze Ver., she’s scheduled for November 2008 release. Both will be retailing for 3,500 Yen. Maybe someone can help me translate the info on Flame Haze ver., if I missed anything important ^^ More on Nendoroids, as you can see from the scan, more Nendoroids is on the way, atleast 3 of them ^^ They are Nendoroid Kataoka Azusa from Penguin Musume scheduled for November 2008, Nendoroid Exelica which I think is an exclusive item that comes with a new upcoming PS2 game (I can’t read the title >_< ), and lastly Nendoroid Ignis, which info is still unknown ^^ I’m so getting Ignis when she’s up for pre-orders~XD Azusa looks cute and Exelica is looking cool there~XD As for Shana, we can just hope ( > _ < );

Recycling is Rubbish http://www.dannychoo.com/detail/mac/eng/image/5445/Recycling+is+Rubbish.html
Professor Kunihiko Takeda, vice-chancellor of the Institute of Science and Technology Research at Chubu University has something to say about recycling.
Recycling is rubbish: It eats more energy and creates more waste than burning our garbage in high-tech incinerators. The most efficient way of getting rid of garbage is burning it all together. Why? Because in raw garbage, plastics turn into their own fuel so you don’t need to add anything else. Aluminum and steel should be recycled, though, as we need less energy for that than to produce them from scratch. Fear is a very efficient weapon: It produces the desired effect without much waste. Global warming has nothing to do with how much CO2 is produced or what we do here on Earth. For millions of years, solar activity has been controlling temperatures on Earth and even now, the sun controls how high the mercury goes. CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or another. Soon it will cool down anyhow, once again, regardless of what we do. Every scientist knows this, but it doesn’t pay to say so. What makes a whole lot of economic and political sense is to blame global warming on humans and create laws that keep the status quo and prevent up-and-coming nations from developing. Global warming, as a political vehicle, keeps Europeans in the driver’s seat and developing nations walking barefoot. Criticizing previous ideals is natural. In the 1930s, militarism was considered best; in the 1960s, mass production and mass consumerism. Then in the 1990s the main topic was the environment. Every 30 years we switch what we believe in. This paradigm will pass, too.
Regardless of what folks say about recycling, I always do my bit but not only because I want to but because I have to - the garbage man wont take your rubbish unless its properly seperated out. Do you practice recycling in your region by will or law? Do you think its worth recycling? Video of Perfume doing a recycling vid. News from Japan Probe.

Still not finished Tokyo Rock Trooper. Reason is that I cant hear the music while I edit so getting the hand movements to go with the music is taking ages... But it will be done - just doing it a bit at a time. This is the reason why I will have some sort of speaker so that I can actually hear the music while editing. Next video will be "Tokyo Kung Fu Trooper." All these versions sound good - need your help in choosing one. I like this version but dont know who does the track. The video lists Earth Wind and Fire but I'm not sure if that's accurate.

Figure Spending http://www.dannychoo.com/detail/mac/eng/image/5366/Figure+Spending.html
Forgot to hijack this one. Meimi132 asks how much have you spent on figures. Not too sure as I have quite a bit but not spending as much on figures as I used to due to the SAFS phenomenon ^^; What is the most you have/would spend on one figure? Original text from Meimi132 below.
Today I spent a while finding out just how much I'd spent on figures in the last year(well, less than a year really...) I was flabbergasted to find that I'd spent over £750!!(Thats over 160000 yen and $1500!!) I know that women can spend that much on shoes easily..... but on figures!!!! OMG I didnt realise that I could.....and that fast..... Theres a more exact figure of how much I've spent and my top 7 favourite figures at my blog. http://meimi132.wordpress.com/ It seems to be having a little spaz at the moment, it won't let me post picures, even after I've cut their actual size down alot!

Upskirt iPhone http://www.dannychoo.com/detail/mac/eng/image/5394/Upskirt+iPhone.html
Maybe they were right about the iPhone not doing well in Japan...
The iPhone 3G in Japan has a special feature unique to that country: The camera always makes a conspicuous “shutter” sound when a picture is taken, even when the phone is set to “silent” mode. The loud shutter sound is supposed to deter voyeurs from taking sneaky pictures up women’s’ skirts — or down their tops. In Japan, upskirt and downblouse shots have become increasingly popular with the advent of high-resolution camera phones. As a result, all cell phones sold in Japan make a conspicuous shutter sound, or say the word “cheese” when a snap is taken, according to Nobuyuki Hayashi, a tech reporter based in Tokyo. On almost all new cell phones, the camera shutter sound can not be muted, Hayashi says. “Some manufacturers have even put louder shutter sound,” he reports. The shutter on the first iPhone sold in Japan could be muted in silent mode; an anomaly that many wondered whether Apple would correct in the iPhone 3G, Hayashi says. Apple did: The shutter sound cannot be turned off, even in silent mode, Hayashi says.
The real price of the iPhone in Japan really turns out to be 80,000 yen. They advertise something like 30,000 yen but you need to take out a two year contract and pay the rest of the 50,000 yen over the months. Not worth it for 16GB. I will wait until the 32GB comes out in a few months time ^^; iPhone news: Cult of Mac via Mike Abundo's twitter feed.
