ガンダムエクシアは次のガンダムシリーズのメインのモビルスーツだ。
この絵を見る限り、とてもかっこいと思わない。
アニメ版にはもっとかっこよく映るかな。 スキャンは今月号のニュータイプから。

That's interesting, freelance artist, what happen to those artist that design the UC gundam series.
A funny thing in Exia is the yellow fin is on the shoulder instead, feels like it'll block the head when it turns

I think this is a good strategy as this will not limit the creativity of the design as who know some other people (not in that industry) can come with design that are more acceptable than those professional.

    Gundam Seed mecha designs were outsourced, i didn't expect that ^^;;;

I guess Bandai is cost cutting and achieving maximum profit on their Gunpla lines.

Let's just hope that their cost cutting doesn't also affect the plot and story of Gundam 00

I'm looking forward on the new Gundam series ^^

The sideburn vents somehow reminds me of the F-91 series of mecha designs. I guess it follows the pattern: rehash of 'One Year War', 'Zeta Gundam' and now comes the F-91 silhouette series.

Even if the seed designs were outsourced, it's not like Sunrise didn't have certain expectations and guidelines for each design.

Gundam Exia doesn't look too bad. I think it just needs more exposure.

The bulky but detailed mechanical design found in Gundam Sentinel is still my favourite. Other than that, I do like mass-produced MS like the GM.

Outside of Gundam, Armored Core and Gasaraki are also my favourite mechas.

Quite an interesting design..I would want to know what kind of system and ability this machine and its brethren machines (there are 4 of em altogether, correct me if I am wrong) has got to offer..

As for the characters in this upcoming new series..Please Sunrise, NO more EMO shiats like Kira and Shinn, we need more mature characters like Amuro and Char..Frankly, I am sick of characters crying and crying in Gundam SEED and Destiny alike already...

    Just my two cents though..^^

So far this Gundam Exia unit reminds me of the Gundam V2 design. Also it's kinda nice that this design of Gundam is moving away from the semi-blocky style of the Strike Gundam.

I think Exia is made of win. Because a lot of SEEDs mechs had rather uninspired designs, I tend to gravitate towards more "unconventional" takes on the Gundam, especially the head. Pentagonal camera? Thick, solid v-fin? Pretty neat if you ask me.

The design of G. Exia is quite nice, a departure of the recent gundam design.

I'm not against the outsourcing fro design of gundam, it's just they should know the expactation of the public...

It does look better than the Cosmic Era Gundams. Those were just recyles of either each other or else the UC designs, but Exia looks real sleek.

Nice designs. Looks like someone is trying to breath new life into a series that should have died after the original.
Lets remember though, what happened to G-Gundam and TurnA Gundam when they tried It!
I have a feeling this won't do well either!
Oh well! Theres always next year!

Has nice points and not so nice points. I want to see more before I say nay or yea.

I don't find it odd that Bandai is contracting out Gundam design. You know me, I think merchandising is Bandai's only concern when it comes to Gunpla. Something that annoys me to no end as well.

At one time I felt there was more of a design evolution to various Gundams and continuity to the Gundam Universe. My opinions about this is, once the Gundam universe moved more into Bandai's hands and out of Yoshiyuki-san and Sunrise hands things started to go astray. No pun intended. I know without Bandai we wouldn't have seen Gundam. Now everything feels like the Beatles "Magical Mystery Tour"; Let's wander about and see what happens. Don't get me wrong, its not like the journey hasn't been interesting. It would be nice to know Bandai has commitment beyond selling Gunpla.

@CMWilly, the Unicorn Gundam is from a story running in Gundam Ace Magazine. Keep meaning to check that out...

Don't get me wrong, its not like the journey hasn't been interesting. It would be nice to know Bandai has commitment beyond selling Gunpla.

@CMWilly, the Unicorn Gundam is from a story running in Gundam Ace Magazine. Keep meaning to check that out...

    Hmmm..
I like it so far, i've checked gunota for the full body shots.. they say this is a close up model with 7 blades.. interesting.. i like that some originality is coming from this series and not jjust the rehash of uc suits.. though some were decent..
Looking forward to the series.. and and can't wait to see the enemy suits..just wonder where there going to place the zaku at he he...

Seed design from freelancers?? talk about outsourcing. No wonder the some of the mechas look like crap. its not that i hate them, i do bought all the master grade mecha and some 1/100 seeds, but sometimes i do wonder why the designs looks kinda "inferior" to those UC counterparts. Well its good to be innovative, but in some areas especially Gundam, just being innovative isn't enough. Creativity is what people sought for.. kinda 20% innovative and 80% creativity in a gundam design.. Hope that this coming series will features more "original mecha designs". I really like the Exia, Mecha with the Seven Blades. Slick. Lol
