I know super robot wars is a popular game franchise. Liked some of the soundtracks but never got around to playing.

I'm actually more interested in that mechanical base. I have 4 of them preordered, but I didn't know if they could stack upward. Now that I know, I might get a few more to make a whole docking bay for all my 1/60 gundams.

I don't know anything about Super Robot Wars either. Most human structured mechas seem to follow the same design (skirt armor, shoulder armor, hip armor, arm guard, etc) I wonder who has the original permit.

They look nice but the designs are too cheesy & generic, like giant toys. Danny; The anime series is ok but nothing special, the animation quality is great but the story line is a bore. Recommended Only if your a hardcore super robot wars fan, otherwise just forget about it. There are better mecha series out there like gundam.

Super Robot Taisen is the very reason why i turned my interest in mecha after Transformers stopped appealing to me. the pre-OG ones not only featured original characters, but meshed the various gundam series, getta robo, mazinger/kaiser, and huge series like rahxephon, evangelion, and many classic shows from the 70's. it made me watch so many shows it's not funny :P

i highly recommend you to play the old games, especially the PS1/2 alpha series.

Woot woot!!! Thanks for posting this Danny. All the other pics I've seen of the SRW stuff weren't very clear. I was only introduced to SRW last year, in the form of SRW OG, but once I started playing the game, I was hooked. I can honestly say now that I love the SRW OGverse as much as I like anything Gundam-related. It has loveable characters and awesome mechs, both Real and Super.

I prefer the OG games, but the SRW games where they bring licensed franchises together are cool as well. Where else are you going to see Gundam stuff taking on Evangelion or your favorite Super Robots duking it out? Sadly for us in the US, they'll probably never port the crossover SRW games due to licensing issues. I would love to play the Alpha series and actually understand what they're saying.

As for SRW anime, you've really gotta to be a fan of the SRW OGverse characters to really like it. Otherwise it'll just seem like a typical mecha show. Being a fan of Super Robots in general will help as well (Real Robot fans might not like it as much since it's not very...well...realistic). I for one loved both the OVA and the Divine Wars series, though the CG in Divine Wars did leave a lot to be desired. The ending of the series was epic though.

    ATX TEAM FOREVER!!!

talk about cutting edge... sorry, gundam fans, but the SRW mechs are on a level much more 'sharper' than the strike freedom.

Well there are one not in SRW series ,see that mech with 2 big thing at its knee ? Its from Demonbane (just my guess) or something like that but all 4 left are from SRW Original Generation Series ,funny thing is most of them from ATX Team :AltEisen ,Weisswriter ,Daizengar (ex-member pilot),WildWurger (dunno where this guy go after OG2 over).

Danny ,i suggest you watch Super Robot Wars Original Generations Animation OVA(3 eps movies) and Super Robots Wars Original Generation Divine Wars (25 eps -TV series) or it'll be much easier if you play the OG series on GBA (they have English ver.)
