Costco!!! i love that place they have the best return policy, im gonna go buy a tv tommarow for the super bowl and return and they give me cash back, SWEET!! i want point cards T.T

I don't have any point cards. They never seemed real successful around the area where I live so most businesses don't bother with them.

I technically have two point cards, but one is actually just an Arcade (Gameworks) card that gives a discount after you purchase X amount of points.

Other than that, it's hard to find good reward programs aside from sketchy credit card rewards.

I only have a points card for drinks...buy 10 and get one free. Somewhat useful with my friend around, but most of the time its just gathering dust somewhere.

Hrm, in my country the cards you get are mainly "buy 2 get 1 free" in store, but then you get points added to the card, and you get a money-back voucher at the end of every month, that depends on how many points you have...

Although, they are very uncommon here, I can only think if 2 stores that do this.

The only point card I really use is in a manga/figure shop : I collect points when I buy mangas (like the first "Death Note", available in french this month) and I use them to buy some nice figures ! ^^

The Import store I buy from lets you either pay in-store price and you get a Point Card that gives you 10$ per like...10 purchases, or you can just pay the prices they have listed on their site which are generally 10$ less than store price....yeah...

Ah we have this in here as well, and lots of it. I love using them like in art stores, grocery stores and etc. they are very useful and I carry about 3 in there. Good to know about the passport thing, I don’t want to pay tax HAHAHHA

That said, I only carry around 8-ish. But these 8 are the plastic type therefore they make my wallet seem huge even though I only have ¥1,000 in there!

When I shop at Japan, they will ask me if I have point cards almost any stores.

So this is the reason why that Japanese supermarket, namely Papaya, offers Point Card, when it's rare to do that in Indonesia.

I wonder if I could get someone to let me stay with them in Japan in exchange for showing my passport to get them things cheaper? That would be nice...

I think that point cards generally give you about 1% back. Though some are much better value.

For instance Ootoya gives you a free meal for every 15 points. And you get 1 point per meal (sometimes more).

And Denny's gives you ¥500 off 5 points. Where you get 1 point per kids meal, which are around ¥500. So that's about 10%. And sometimes they give you more stamps that they should have :)

Point cards are generally worth having for things you frequent often, or will spend a lot of money at.

I used to carry around a lot, but I never actually filled them up, so they were pointless. Now I just carry around a movie point card. I've gotten 2 free movies and free drinks/popcorn with it.

These days all purchases points can be done by a computer data base through reward progams.
