My chinese horoscope is a Dragon (born in 1988) :)

About the veggies stuffed with minced meat, had that a couple of days ago.

And Japan should definately have a system/law that gives food not being sold (and still eatable) to homeless people. NEVER WASTE FOOD!

Oh, anyone know the size of the monitor that is connected to the Mac Mini on this picture? http://www.dannychoo.com/post/en/25194/A+Week+in+Tokyo+46.html#image80985

I'm gonna take a wild stab at the dark and stay that you both are Chinese, right? If I'm wrong, I apologize.

Traditional Chinese tend to want to have children within the years of tigers and dragons, and 1988 was a very popular year to have kids, popular to the point that dragons born in that year were called the golden dragons. children born in 2000 were called the millennium dragons.

I love reading your Week in Tokyo articles :3

In regards to grooming in the morning, I used to be really self-conscious about how I look because lots of time I would go out without combing my hair or forget my lip balm, but then it didn't really matter. Boyfriend loved me regardless of how I look ^^;; I'm really not there to impress anybody else (unless I have to get ready for a presentation or a meeting haha).

I miss Godiva chocolate! I love getting them as gifts.

And for Chinese horoscope, I'm a tiger :3 nyan nyan.

Grooming, unfortunately have to spend a bit of time on myself as I have a troublesome issue >.<; such a waste of my time but I can't really do anything further about it orz... that's on a normal work day or when I need to go out, otherwise I cut back so not to waste too much time.

I'd choose a Nissan GTR as an every day car only if the petrol would cost something like... uhhh... Less than 1 euro per liter.
It's probably the best sport car out there without looking at things like Ferrari or high-end, racing-specs, Porsche, but it's fuel consumption is ludicrous, if I remember correctly the GTR burns something like 12 liters every 100 kilometers! It is like I were driving my Civic constantly with the foot stepped on the pedal.
Maybe, since in Japan thee engine has a built-in limiter unless you drive on a racing track, the consumption is lower but still, is way higher respect the Fairlady.

DAMN, I'd pay my eye teeth to be able to get into costumes like that Edo jidai geki couple. they seem so happy practicing their own unique brand of geekiness :)

"Do you spend ages grooming up in the mornings?"
Only if there are major client meetings or life events to go to, or only if I'm going to a con or a photoshoot in full modeling gear!

"Which Chinese horoscope is you being?"
Clicked Panda for the lulz. Actually I'm a Dog.

Godiva chocolates are a hugely pricey luxury item around here. We also have Royce brand - that's definitely special-occasion chocolate~~

Subway 123 = The Taking of Pelham 123?

I just had a most excellent Hainanese Chicken Rice at a place called ToastBox. I go there a lot to eat their kaya toast and chug their Horlicks :) that's where my gang go out for when we do friendly meetings and stuff.

"My day time beverages are a mix of cappuccino, PG Tips, Chinese tea, Milo, yuzu tea and Japanese tea."
Mine are: coffee heavily doctored with creamer and sugar, Milo, milk tea.

Great entry as always - hope you find more time in your schedule to bring them back up to a regular post basis.....

Love the week in Tokyo section! Lots of great pictures! Haven't had any trouble with any of my Ikea products. 8 Detolfs, 4 lamps, same desk as you Danny, and all are working fine ^^

    English Muffins are ok but what I really miss are the Australian Toaster Biscuits. God I love those ;;

    To avoid another jug breaking,

warm the jug with some hot liquid before pouring it all in it
put something under the jug while pouring the hot liquid in it (like a coaster)
avoid metal and stone surfaces, because of sudden temperature exchage they tend to break

Nice food, makes me hungry already and I'm 2 hours away from lunch...

On a side note... I didn't know that Japan changed the name of "The Taking of Pelham 123" to "Subway 123". Interesting... is it because Pelham would be unrelatable in Japan?

"The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3" is an awesome movie, definitely worth seeing. Quick question though, was the title translated to "Subway" when it got to Japan or are you just calling it that?

yes, I´ve got ikea stuff that brakes after a couple of years. Mainly lamps and lampholders.

But with the usage hours on them I can´t complain. I think I got the Billy bookshelf as well and it hasn´t been destroyed in 10 or so years so can´t complain there either :p

Sounds like you´ve had a nice week. I always get to jealous of your macs since I´m curious about the machine and software.

Looks like a busy busy week as always!

    Some of my work involved faxing, but a lot of them are older folks who doesn't know any newer technologies. A lot of them use Hybrid photocopiers now and send it to our email with PDF. A much better solution. Don't really use any faxing at home anymore, but I do print out google map instructions sometimes ^^;

Never did use any hair products... Maybe I should because this one part of my hair NEVER stays on the side it should >_<

I don't get dressed up very much, because I really don't have a reason too. However, my usual style when not going gaming is what most folks term "Business casual" (Black denim pants and a nice shirt or fleece) so I guess that's good.

a shame that so many people on the polls dont take care of the way they look!
Its 2009 ,soon to be 2010 and i like to dress well, clean well, and just generally be fresh.but thats just me.It displays alot about your character, the way you dress and look. And if the mentality is "argh i dont care" then, well, dont be suprised if people arent impressed or interested. But hey, do as you wish ^ ^
i just think it DOES play an important role in todays society. Freshness & style.

I've had two Ikea made table light holders break on me before due to the force from the resultant angle I position my light in and the plastic material its made out of. The first time, it just snapped and my light fell on my arm and keyboard. Luckily the bulb stayed in tact so there was no messy clean up required. Since the light was still good, I got another plastic stand from Ikea to find the same shearing breakage occur over time. This time however, I replaced it well before it actually sheared off completely with a vice grip bolted to a block of steel. This should be close to a permanent solution.

i am a boar too. and i think i figured out you and your wifey's ages. mouse should make you 1 year younger than wifey i presume. :) well, you still look 30.

the taking of pelham 123 is not nice. forgettable. i recommend the time traveller's wife with eric bana and rachel mcadams. and i think public enemies is showing soon in tokyo. i love johnny depp~
