Princess Lover? Nah... it's your typical harem oppai anime of the season. If you just with to pass time literally ou can give it a shot but if you aim to pass time or enjoy your leisure then you can go an choose the other anime titles released for this season such as Bakemonogatari etc.

Looking forward to this BBC media coverage ^_^

Depends on what you mean by vivid.

A good exposure + correct color balance usually makes the shot (along with any needed adjustment in post). And a fast lens and a sensor that handles well low light situations might help as well.

If you're referring to my photos, then it's the way I process my images, infact I'm so lazy I've used tweaked one of the pre-sets, and batch process to automatically correct lens distortion, up contrast and apply moderate sharpening.

If you want to achieve that sort of look, then I would recommended shooting in RAW and then post processing your images.

The lens is the most important part of the equipment. I have a Nikkor 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lens which excels in low light. It really likes neon and white stormtrooper uniforms ^~__~^. The lens cost me about $600 but has been well worth it. The camera cost a bit more and is a Nikon D700.

I've never heard somebody saying slow glass like f/4.5-5.6 without VR is excelling in low light :-O
In your setup, the D700 on program mode is the reason for the pictures at low light instead of the lens as it's full frame sensor is more sensitive to lower light conditions and it can get away with the high ISO's without getting grainy.

If you really want to be impressed, get the 24-70 f/2.8 or the 100$ 50 F/1.8 if you can live with not being able to zoom in (or out for that matter) both lenses *way* exceed in sharpness and color reproduction than the 70-300 >_>

If you must have some crazy zoom, than go for the 70-200 2 f/2.8 VR2 (The added VR gets you 3 stops better performance so that's effectivly f/1.8)

I have been looking at the 24-70 f/2.8, but the cost is $2,000. Is this the one you mean? I thought maybe a new lens may be coming with all the talk about a D3S and possible D700S or X.

The standard lens I got with the camera 24-120mm really put me off as the quality was not good. I almost took the camera back. When I got the 70-300 the quality of the photos changed like it was a new camera. So I figured the choice of lens was most important.

I will try a few more lenses like you suggested. thanks

I should add, the reason I bought a Nikon DSLR instead of the Canon 5D was because I saw Danny's commercial. Hope Nikon keep supplying you with lenses and kit Danny (or me ^_~). My buying the camera is evidence of Nikon's success from your marketing campaign with them.

princess lover is just a harem oppai anime, but the story takes a different approach from the game (plus the anime does not really choose a girl out of the 4).

For that helm, probably the best way to close that big gap is by stuffing it with some cushion-like material, so you can more or less still look up. will definitely wring more sweat out of your head, though. well, never tried it, just guessing. And my logic tells me it's still not possible to cover the hole completely :)

In regards to the helmet, I think it is because of the large undercut on the back of the helmet, plus the sponge at the top. The way it would have been originally padded would have been with a ring around the crown of the helmet. It may not be as comfortable, but it was the stunt version. (stunt= undercut, hero= no undercut.)

Maybe you can have two helmets, stunt helmet for dancing like a loony, and a hero helmet for just flat out scaring people during meetings.

could be thinking too much about your helmet in comparison to the movies. if its the original cast used then its possible that there were few or no scenes where the back of their heads were seen and even if they were you have the whole "Hollywood-fix-all" thing. as for getting it how you would like it white foam would work or you could try to find some flexible white hose and see if you could make it glossy like the rest of the helm. or do both use the foam inside and use the glossed hose on the bottom(visible) part.

Regarding the Stormtrooper helmet, you either have a small head or else your helmet needs extra padding, Danny. I have the Airwolf helmet and it has the same problem. My guess is that in the 70s and 80s everything was BIG and bulky.
