I believe that the Japanese should have better engineering and technical know how to dismantle that Gundam properly... from the photo... all I can think of is that they dismantle it from the knee part? maybe I'm wrong but that's all I can think of from the above single photo... but then again... we all should beg to the new Japan Prime Minister to talk to the relevant parties and put this Gundam statue back or relocate it to other locations... this should be one of the famous landmark of Japan.... after all anime and toys are important industry to Japan...

Now I'm not sure but somewhere in Japan, they are planning to make a life sized Tetsujin 28, or Gigantor. Not sure where it will be though! Can't wait, now they also need to make Char's Zaku, or at least make most of the main mobile suits from the series over the next few years...That would be awesome!

As sad as it is that I wasn't able to see it, the cost of maintenance would be too high to keep it up... winter, typhoons, etc. There isn't much profit in it to cover such costs by just having it stand around outside for free either right? It only makes sense to take it down. Hopefully they'll either put it on display somewhere else or pit it back together for another celebratory event in the future!
