very interesting revamp u are doing to your sites. so i guess the main/original dannychoo site will now be more biz-focussed? more serious biz stuff for client$? becos it looks like there is no reason for us to post on that site? we just post straight on figure.fm, rite?

looking forward to the changes. <^;^>

Yeah the "Comment-Replied Notification" would be really nice. Right now it's more or less pointless to ask questions in something which is a week old (or older) because people will not read it. If people get notified that somebody took an interest in what they wrote then good posts will not die that fast.

It would also be nice to get notified about any new comments in any of your posts since they are sort of replies to what you wrote.

It's ok not to have an ETA. I believe it was Intel who first stated an ETA as "when it's ready". It has since been used quite a lot regarding features in open source projects and I think it's fitting here too. I'm just happy to get confirmed that it is on the list at all ^^

Somebody should make a dictionary with all the words that are in use here and make a jpg of them. That way no search engine will detect them and we can still look up every word. A word is useless unless you understand it when you read it. Sure eyes and dolphins are known to quite a lot of people, but then comes words like pupils, oysters and so on. How many words do we even have? I'm not sure if I know all of them because some of them are used rarely, presumably because other people are unfamiliar with all of them as well.

I don't think it's an issue with eyes. After all it's a quite common term to write about. Dolphins on the other hand... I don't think that many places online write a whole lot about dolphins. I still recall when I saw a documentary on TV about dolphins and how a female researcher talked about devoting her life to compare dolphins (colour, size and so on) in order to understand them better. It was meant to be serious but I couldn't help considering it funny. The documentary itself were actually interesting. There is more to dolphins (the animal) than people normally think. I also once saw a documentary about dolphins (the human version). That was actually quite funny too because they joked about it while being serious at the same time :D

O_o I didn't know words could affect a website that much! The Internet is a very complex world.

We should make a DC dictionary or something similar so that new members would know the words that are banned in the website.

Feature Request: RTF editor, so if we have long posts with links (and pictures), we could simply do copy-paste?

I have some posts with about 50 pictures per post, and getting them here manually would make me, well, scream with rage and despair :D

I don't see the benefit from using RTF, but maybe I will if I look into the options.

I would however like a post preview to make it possible for me to test layout and links before making it public and correct tyops in links before people start posting comments about flawed links.

Saving drafts (read: non public posts) would be nice too. In fact drafts and preview could be combined by just making the post unavailable to everybody except the owner. Once it's done the owner can make it public and the posting time will then be when it's public, not when it was first made/previewed ^^

I agree, I wanted to suggest this before as well and forgot.

I often find myself changing a post, and the picture lay-out after seeing how it looks. Which is problematic here, as people see my work-in-progress.

I never found the preview necessary with old Member Stuff uploader, since it was just one picture, but I would agree on wanting a preview now. Wouldn't be high of a priority want list though.

I needed preview with the old system. I have made mistakes which preview could have avoided being published (like using && instead of %% in a link). Also it would be nice to see the layout. You might notice that big chunks of text makes the whole thing less readable or something.

Sanks for the heads up Danny on what's been changing recently.
I await to read a new "Posting Rules" article. Although i'm assuming most of them will be standard good internet writing protocols, which i'm all for. With a few perks such as mentioning "dolphin", "oppai" and "eyes".
I'm sure with all these new post moderation functions, DC will be filled with lots of quality posts.

^^; Nope, you haven't missed anything...unless I have as well. The accounts we have on Mirai Gaia (both DC and Figure.fm, now) have no way of changing occupation at the moment. Or even location, for that matter. I assume it's on the to-do list (along with gender, which was suggested awhile back) but not high-priority.

Yay! I've been ommenting about wanting a Posting Rules page every so often for awhile now. If that's what did it, thanks for listening...and if you already had it in mind, even better because it means you had things well covered already. ^^

As for page rank: it kind of sucks how it dropped two levels at once and is taking so long to get back up again, but I suppose that's just how it works. Always much easier to lose reputation than to gain it. >< It'll get there eventually though!

It looks like that I may be out of the game as I don't think I can keep up with the vast information from this community; things are often getting busier and busier for me unfortunately and I have to prioritise.

China-bashing is kinda hurting on me as Hong Kong is often dragged into that, and I know that Hong Kong is a place that's rather overlooked compared to other places such as Singapore due to slight language and culture preference, so I hope there will be improvements within the community.

Btw Danny may I ask whether the old RSS feed award involving Google adsense system is still there as I know the RSS I've been using is not working anymore.
