You know, I think it needs more straps. But honestly, it's just one of those little things, you think oh that's cute i'll buy one and put it on my phone. Soon after, it amounts to alot such as on Asanon's phone.
Such a hassle to carry around in my opinion, would never fit in my pocket if it were like that.

I was so terribly heartbroken when I learnt my current phone wasn't able to have straps attached to it easily. And although I only usually kept one or two straps on it, they're so useful! It's kind of like an extra keyring and can add extra cute without having to glue things onto the phone itself.
I have seen phones with more straps attached however. Where there are enough that the phone and the straps can only just fit into a small-ish handbag.
Those are kind of scary. I was always too afraid to have that much stuff dangling off my phone though. Mostly because I wouldn't want to damage any of the charms or straps. They're too cute to be thrown around with twelve others.

More and more phones are coming with the holes in them for straps... Now, in the past year I've seen a few cell phone "charms" at Target. I don't see many people, other than a few Asian kids at school with cellphone straps. I have a pen and Spirted Away straps on my phone which I got when I went to Japan.

We're OBSESSED with our keitaidenwa here in the Philippines: everywhere there are stalls selling decorative phone straps, charms, and lanyards. Other accessories include protective sleeves and skins and a ridiculous array of carrying pouches.

Even guys decorate their phones with a good lanyard or wrist strap and then pop on a charm or two from friends or significant others.

i'm scared to put those straps on my phone cuz it might scratch it. but then again, i never really take good care of the phones that i have been through, they'd always end up scratched and paint wearing off.

hmmm. from the pic the phone is a Sony Ericsson, but none of the SE phones that i know of. i guess SE phones are different than the ones released here.

I don't have any phone straps for a similar reason as berNERD, afraid it might scratch my phone. Though my current Nokia while working great is a real scratch magnet, just looking at it will even scratch it! (Disappointed in Nokia screen quality.)

Do have a Haruhi phone straps that I use as keychain hanger. ^^

I don't carry a phone around or have an active sim, but the mobile phone I do own has a strap hole (Sony Ericsson Z1010) and I have a fairly plain strap in it, well the one it came with actually. I'm sure if I could be bothered to get a new sim card for it and found a nice strap, I would be all over them! I love playing with little things like that.

Here some people attach stuff to their phones. It's mainly young girls (age say 8-15) who does that and it would be a bad sign if people older than that use such stuff.

Yep my phone has a little 'grey bear' character on it, it is standing and hugging a little rabbit! so cute. I own a lot of phone straps though, but the connectors kept breaking, when my phone gets dropped, so I buy a new one, and keep the old ones in a little memory box :D

I used to have about 16 on my old phone, but I own more than that. Since sometimes, the holder wears out, and you have to either take it out or replace it or else, it'll fall out and you'll be sad that all your precious phone charms are gone.

Now, I only have three, and they're all Tsukasa Hiiragi. <33 I still love phone charms though.

"All Japanese mobiles have a hole which enables a strap to be attached and many folks over here hang character goods from their device."

So *that's* why the iPhone never caught on in a big way in Japan. xP

I used to have a gashapon hanging from my phone, but once he got lost (poor Yondaime lost his finger, hand, and hair before that) I just stuck to leather, professional looking ones. With my recent cellphone switch to a Blackberry, I've ditched straps altogether - gets in the way of typing because of where the hole is positioned.

You do occasionally see cell phone straps around here, though not often. However, quite a few phones can accommodate them, which is an absolute blessing if you and a family member have the same model of phone. I speak from experience, as my mom and I have the exact same model, in the exact same color. I have a strap with a little handmade bead bunny, a gift from my former roommate, and my mom has Calcifer from Howl's Moving Castle, which I bought for her at AX last year. It's a huge help in telling whose phone is whose!

I would never, ever have more than one strap though. It offends my designerly sensibilities, and would increase potential damage to the strap slot too, I would think.
