日本の眼鏡屋の外に置いてある眼鏡洗浄機は親切ですね。イギリスではこんな良いサービスはなかった。

      Optics in Singapore are super expensive. My glasses cost me about S$950. That's only for one pair. My frame is a Oakley Titanium Pewter - Chop Top 2.0 with a super thin Nikon lenses. Forgot the material of the lenses.

    Hmmm...even with laser surgery (LASIK) to correct your vision which is widely affordable now compared to 2 or 3 years ago, I'd still prefer wearing glasses. Of course the frame makes all the difference on how you look. I've had 2 pairs of "Masaki Matsushima" frames for about 2 years now and they are really good & cool looking too. It does cost quite a bit though.

    As for the ultra sonic washer, well it ain't a free service around these neck of the woods.have to pay a weeee bitty amount for the service.

      LASIK is not for everyone. You need to approach a specialist to determine if your eyes are eligible to the procedure or not.

    Reminds me that I should probably have my eyes checked out At Some Point. My left eye is okay, but unless I hold something close by, everything looks fuzzy out of my right. Pity I'm scared of doctors, gyaaa! And I look like a total dorkwad in glasses, that too.

    Bit of a pity we don't have those fancy little glasses cleaning devices here. I'd like to try one out, just to see how it works! (but I'm weird like that)

    Quite handy that, don't have them over here, at least not seen them before.

    The worst part of wearing glasses for me is choosing the damn things. Took me multiple trips in May to pick my new pair. Went from frame-less to full frames which is a bit of a change after about 4 years with no frames!

    Also, anywhere else apart from the UK have silly stickers on the test frames in the Opticians? Makes choosing extra tricky when you can't really see out of one eye.

      Same reason ultrasound cleaners are used on jewelry--it jostles all kinds of dirt from places you can't get to yourself. I'm guessing it probably cleans out the nosepads (which in my case get disgusting fairly quickly) and where the frames meet the lenses. Me waaaaants. Especially for nosepad benefits. ^^;

    I have been wearing glasses since Grade One or Two. Must've been six or seven. Have been personal witness to how the styles of specs have changed over the past twenty years. I switched to contacts very briefly, but they were too irritating, so I went back.

    Would SERIOUSLY want to love to have one of those ultrasound cleaners here, but I normally get by with soaking a tissue in alcohol, swiping that over the lenses to clean off the grime, then polish with the provided soft cloth.

    Frightening coincidences occur everyday on this site, it seems...you may not have posted it just now, but I'm reading this right after I got back from visiting an optician with my cousin. While she was getting her contacts, I sat trying to clean out some dirt from my frames. The optician at the counter was so disturbed he took them from me and gave them a thorough ultrasound bath. ^^; After asking, of course.
