I love the iPhone. Had one since launch day two years ago. And now I've upgraded to a 3GS. :3

Have you noticed the severe heat problems reported recently? I have heard that the 3GS gets too hot for people to hold. Sounds like one of those exploding battery nightmares waiting to happen. (I recall one story of a Li-ion battery in another type of of phone exploded and caused severe injury to the person's leg as it was in his pocket at the time.)

IPhones are cool devices, but with Apple, there are too many things Apple restricts you from doing for whatever reasons and only recently has copy and paste been included as a feature. (You still cannot save attachments from email yet right?) But with other phones, these sorts of functions are present in the first release and many can even see flash web applets and the like as well doing more things than IPhone is allowed to do.

IPhones are cool, but in terms of function and capability, there are many other handsets that can do more. So when comparing something from Apple that does less than something from a less popular brand and Apple still wins? It is easy to assume it is the Apple brand that is winning people over and not the phone itself.

Personally, as a geek, I do not buy my stuff for reasons like brand name. I buy for functionality and flexibility. I would never buy an iPhone for lots of reasons, not the least of which is the inability to remove the battery and the unreasonable restriction on apps.

erroneus: try using an iPhone to learn that it's not the brand, but the user interface that sells people on the iPhone. I had a Nokia N-series that did a lot more than my iPhone, but it's almost impossible to use. iPhone is a complete package that even my mom can use.

Glad to hear someone else pointing this out. I have an older HTC and find it difficult to use. Now that I have an iPod Touch I find myself spending several minutes readjusting when I need to use my HTC.

True that. What Apple sells is not features, but the whole package as an experience. Sure others sell gadgets with more features, yet only Apple manage to combine them all without requiring the user to be a total geek to comprehend how it works.

          No hard feelings to geeks.

There might be a reason behind the limitation, so that for the next release they have something to give out, it might be a business tactic u know?

i'm a ipod Touch user, i feel that apple has made a good job, with the interface, it looks more animated and it has the processing power to produce it.not like Nokia's OS it makes u feel like ure using windows classic.
There is other device which are quite nice, like HTC and sony ericsson newest model quite nice, but those are 'mobile phones'. Palm-pre, iphones considered as 'platform phones' ( got it from a web )

User experiene is the true form of design. Just look at Apple and tell me it is not.

It is cool to bash Apple when it is due but Iphone is a brilliant device and I say for your own sake get rid of those typical IT nerdy ideals.

I was tempted to get me an iPhone a while back, but since I already have an ipodtouch, HTC Diamond and a Palm Treo pro from work I don't want to own another 'gadget'.

sure enough the iphone is a great machine, but I can't part with my stylus/keyboard. surfing the net is so much more convenient than touchscreen IMO.

I never understood all of these iPhone/iPod Touch cases that cover the back of the device but not the screen - the bit that actually matters! I'm sure it helps absorb drops & knocks, but the screen is the most delicate & most important feature of the device, so these cases just seem a bit pointless to me (my iPod Touch case is one that encompasses the entire thing).

The iPhone is very cool. I used an unlocked original one for a year or so. It's especially great if you are a Mac user. Recently though, I took the plunge and got a Blackberry 8900. Wow. While it certainly doesn't consume media as well as the iPhone, it is way better in doing everything else (for me at least). So now I take an iPod Touch, the BB, and my MacBook Pro with me. What an awesome combo. Any other DCers actually switched away from the iPhone rather than to?

Some phones may have more features, but none come close to the polish and speed of the iPhone. More companies are starting to realize this I think with the launch of phones like the Palm Pre and the Nokia N97.

its the user interface, and the number of apps in its store (over 30,000) that makes it the most usefull. untill someone comes out with a better interface, or whole new generation of phone like the iphone did... then the iphone will rule.. yes it has its problems.. buy everything does.... :)

Never like Apple or their products. I can't stand the whole Mp4 fiasco to prevent you from using music on other devices. Should be illegal here in the U.S., due to our music ownership/usage laws.

All the students at my school have them and they play with them all the time(Get a life will you?). I do like the Miku applet that has the 3-D hachun Miku Dancing to Leek spin. Course, I play with my figures when they're playing with they're gadgets. I'm on the other end of the spectrum.
