Judging by the paint job, she looks a little more high-end than a Figma so I imagine she'll be more expensive. They've done a great job, though - she definitely looks impressive.

She is also bigger than a figma. They put a 1/8th scale Nanoha next to her and she was just as big (if not slightly bigger).

Cannot wait for this to be up for preorders. I am so getting it. Looks like September might be the release date too!

I don't get it... I really don't. If GSC is already doing a line of action figures with Max Factory, why do they have to branch out into their own line of action figures? Isn't the market saturated enough?

Also, is it possible to let StrikerS die? It was a horrendous addition to the Nanoha Franchise that many would like to forget about.

      Speak for yourself ^^
I enjoyed Strikers and I know others who enjoyed it as well :x They wouldn't make figures of the series if there were note people who liked it. So I'm happy they are making more figures and branching out. The ACTSTA series is bigger and far more detailed than figma. Probably will cost more but that's fine with me. I also doubt they will only be doing Nanoha series and will branch to series you like Actar ^^

I apologize for my ranting, and maybe I should have used the term 'disappointing' instead of 'horrendous'. But I have my reasons.

The fact is, Nanoha StrikerS is a sequel Anime whether one likes it or not. Fans are definitely going to compare it to the previous two series. If you are a fan of the original Nanoha series, chances are, the big change won't be very appealing to you.

But if you watch it as a new Anime, Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate won't be your main focus, but Teena and Subaru will. So, it all boils down to whether you have watched the previous series or not.

That being said, I really don't like the character changes of Nanoha, Fate and Hayate during the StrikerS season. They are now taken as secondary characters, given the short stick and pushed off to the background. Not only that, StrikerS has a number of problems of its own. The lack of characterization due to the huge cast, the somewhat crazy plot that really has trouble holding itself together at points.

For the new characters, Teena and Subaru really have little to offer and fans of the series will find themselves pining for the original cast more.

One of the greatest things that bugged me were the setting. From the original series and A's, we were in this very free setting where Nanoha and Fate were able to explore and take full advantage of their powers. In this series, the setting is very militaristic in nature. I personally feel that the characters are more controlled and restricted. The first few episodes of 'training' were really torturous to sit through. Also, the 'power limiter' was a very disturbing concept, just showing the literal restraints the characters were put in. I know there's the reason of Nanoha hurting herself in the past due to over training, but really, who doesn't want to see some unrestrained fighting where characters go all out in a glorious battle?

Even the subtle Yuri relationship between Nanoha and Fate wasn't well done. Action scenes were mediocre at best. The only great parts were the ones involving Nanoha, Fate and Hayate.

Overall, I really believe that as a sequel to the great and awesome Nanoha franchise, it is indeed a disappointment. However, as an individual Anime, it is alright, though still lackluster and having problems of its own.

What they should have done was either continue the series when Nanoha and Fate were still young, or at least pick up from where A's left of and tell of the adventures of Nanoha, Fate and Hayate when they are teens.

So, it is entirely fine if people enjoy the series. I'm just sad that I myself can't bring myself to get into the fandom of StrikerS and am disappointed that more figures of the A's characters are not released.

Would be particularly interested in an Action figure of Loli Fate, one of my favourite characters of all time.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But there's no need to put down the StrikerS series every time someone mention or post about it or the Nanoha series in general. There is a lot of hard work behind the making of every animation. They can't please everyone. But I can understand how you feel when something doesn't live up to your expectations. I do think StrikerS is good enough, even if it is not as good as A's.

... ^^; As someone who *has* watched the previous seasons, and did so in order, I have to disagree with StrikerS being disappointing due to the big change for original fans. I rather liked StrikerS. I liked the change in maturity found in Nanoha, Fate, and Hayate.

You're right in that Teana and Subaru weren't my focus though - the focus was always, always on the elder trio and I actually forget the Forwards' names often. But while I liked loli Nanoha and Fate, I also like their elder incarnations and the whole military thing. Matter of taste I suppose. That said, A's is my favourite of the bunch.

As for figures: I've wondered at the lack of loli-versions too. Maybe it's just more risque, and the costumes less elaborate? Dunno. Licensing StrikerS makes more sense than A's, since the cast count is higher (more bang for the buck?) but from what Danny's told us figure-licensing doesn't work that way.

I dislike many extremely popular series but you won't hear me asking for them to be dropped/killed. People like what they like.

I am glad GSC has this ACTSTA series. No matter what character they choose to start with some people would of not liked it. I'm betting they will eventually do other characters from other series.

I like it most because of the detail level, the size, and it's like a figma. If it's the price of a normal 1/8th scale that would be awesome.

I'd rather see a Figma, this will be kind of weird next to the Figma Nanoha girls if it's that much bigger. I hope this doesn't mean Figma is going to shift into this and phase out :/ I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it were on scale with the Nanoha Figmas. It does look great though..

Well, since figma is developed by Max Factory and is quite popular, I don't see them phasing out the series. I also think it's odd that GSC would decide to create its own line of action figure type series since it's already doing a collab with MF, but there may be some underlying reason. IIRC, there were images of this about a year ago leaked, which was around when the figma line was just starting up.

We'll just have to wait and see! ^^

The problem with that is most review bloggers are out there to inform/advise the public about a figure that they may think about purchasing, but would like an informed opinion of before placing that purchase. This unfortunately at times means we have to purchase items from a series we don't care for in order to get our information. Luckily I haven't had that problem personally, but there are a few figmas I skipped due to monetary reasons and such that I have yet to purchase and review.

While I do agree that purchasing from a series you like will make you happier, it may also influence a reviewer's review. I know that has happened to me on occasion, which is why I try to stay as objective as possible with my reviews now.

I don't see the point of buying a figure because we want to review them... Well, unless you're loaded...

I never bought any Revoltech line, simply because I don't like the finished article, and frankly.. there's no figure in my collection that I don't particularly like, at least in the beginning....

Granted, I've yet to make any review... but planning on doing it soon...^^

Btw, the info that's this gonna be in 1/8 is just pure awesome... an articulated, detailed, 1/8 figure... the concept certainly is mouthwatering... Let's see how it unfold in the end...XD

Still though, I try not to let my fondness or dislike of a series influence my reviews in any way. I review based on the technical aspect, and based on options and flaws of the figure, rather than 'OMG its HARUHIZ YOU MUST GET HER RAWR!!'

I usually put a recommendation at the end of my review based on likes and dislikes, but I have recommended against getting a few figmas due to certain issues, mostly lack of unique accessories or mold issues.

The knee joints are obscured by her kneepads (a must for rollerblades! ^^) but you're right about how they're hidden; I almost didn't notice her elbow joints until I went looking for them specifically!

As many of people have pointed, the 1/8 scale makes this figure definitely stand out amongst the other Nanoha Figma figures.

I'm also sad that it's a figure of a character I'm not excited about. Otherwise, a GREAT improvement and it is looking awesome.

Subaru looks GREAT!!! I hope the price point isn't too high on this, because I'd order her in a heartbeat! Subaru wasn't one of my favorite characters from StrikerS, but she was great nonetheless, and really shined in the final ep. I'm still hoping for a figma, but if the price is right, I'll put in an order for her ^o^

          LOL @ M&M figures XD

          Funny story, I used to have my Frauleins displayed on the wall of my cubicle. I got tired of them always falling off and limbs always falling off, so I took them home. One of the ladies who regularly walks by to use the restrooms approached me one day (we were co-workers back when I was in customer service) and mentioned that she 'misses the girls sitting on my wall' because she liked looking at them whenever she passed by ^^;

Rather than a collaboration between Max Factory and Good Smile (as the figma line is) this is a collaboration between Good Smile and LiquidStone. In essence, it is like a figma in a large size, but ultimately will not be quite the same. I have high hopes for it though!

interesting... they look like they have hidden the joints pretty well. and 1/8 scale? worth keeping an eye on to see if the can match or beat liqidstone in the articulated figure stake.

Tho I have to say I'm a little saddened to see yet another figure maker go the way of the articulated figure. It's not a particularly bad thing, but I've seen a recent trend, esp among resin kit sculptors of making articulated figures which are nice, but can't match the beauty of their fixed pose works.

That's some quality work! I'm pretty clueless about figure scales..about how tall is 1/8 on average? though I guess I can find that out by calculating 1/8 of the typical japanese girl's height... Also, won't this compete with figmas or is this totally different level?

I don't have many static figures myself, but the GSC 1/8 Miku is about 18cm not including her base or compensating for her contraposto pose.

It will be interesting to follow how this line of new figures develops, but I can venture to say that by no mean they will be cheap (especially when most 1/8 figures are about 5000 - 6000 yen at least, add up the action gimmick...)

So they started a revolution I see... ^^
They did an excellent job on hiding the joints, but since the outfit on Subaru is kinda complicated; more simple(regular clothes) figures like lets say Haruhi, the joints would show more on her but lets see if GSC can avoid that in future releases ^^

The detail is awesome, not as good as a statue but better than Figmas. If they do a good job they might make a big hit and eventually be bought more than statues, that's if the price is right ;D Hopefully they make the price range around the same price as Nendoroids or a little higher like $40 USD(4300 yen) if they want this line to work good(cheaper would obviously be better ^^) If the prices are like CM Corporation than chances are they wont sell ^^

Imagine, your favorite statues and figures with high detail, same size and you can actually pose them the way you want them...I can't wait ^^

This line looks promising. I hope the poseability and such will be as good as the figmas have been, though I'm not too worried since it is GSC.

I personally would prefer the 1/8 scale over the scale on the figmas... while I like figmas myself, they are a little smaller than I would've liked, especially since I don't really take my figures out and about. Personal opinion and preference, though, of course. ;p

I'm unfamiliar with Nanoha, so I'll be passing, but she looks stunning. I'm excited to see what other characters they will be releasing under this line in the future. (:

So let me get this straight... you mean to say it's similar to figma's but relates to more action poses only? And is bigger?

Don't mean to be rude, but it seems like a bigger figma statue but used more for action sequences/poses so you can choose from a variety and stuff.

If future figures in the series look as nice as Subaru, I'll more than likely end up picking up a few. Hopefully Balsa from Seirei no Moribito and Clare from Claymore will be part of this line at some point.

I agree. The sculpt is beautiful nothing to hinder your view of it, and the name chosen for the series is perfect. :) Subaru, she looks pretty nice here, her outfit is interesting.

Looking forward to see what series of actSTA Goodsmile chooses to make.

Definitely not 'just another figma.' This line is 1/8 scale, whereas the figma line is roughly 1/12 scale (not exact.) I believe this line is to compete against the fixed pose 1/8 scale figures, with the bonus being that she comes with more accessories and is posable.

Cool. But larger scale aside, will have to read up on reviews once the first few come up. Bigger does not necessarily equate better. Like the "seamless" look though, so it still looks like a non-moving statue.

The joint are very well hidden, however, the places they are hidden at seem a bit inconvenient. They seem just to be placed where they will be hidden best by the character. No waist, hip or upper-chest joint= unhappy people. Now she'll always have her back straightened out.

The detail is really nice, but probably only because it's bigger. I like the finger detail, but the bigger it is, the easier it is to apply a detail, so it makes sense. Would be much better if posed next to other figures.

My concern is that GSC will start to only focus on these figures, and move away from Figma, and will drop it all together. The more of these produced, the less time for Figmas to be produced. They will replace Figma eventually.
