0_o How'd you get that all home?

(Seriously, I'm planning to get a helluva lot of stuff at Anime North, and I'd like some tips on bringing the haul home.)

Nice. How much was the Lucky Star Fate Cosplay Nendoroids?

I see Comptiq Konata in the background. Awesome nendoroid. I almost bought her on eBay but didn't want to dish out $100 despite that being relatively cheap nowadays. I've seen her regularly go for double 50% more.

Toranoama Ikebukuro branch. We lucked out and stumbled upon them the day they were re-released to be in stock again. They're sold out everywhere again. They retailed for 2650 yen, now private sellers are selling them in excess of 17000 yen in some places. Cheapest I saw Marisa being resold was 8000.

The thing i would most steal from this loot is the YF 19 ....

This pic reminds me of the pic of my loot from my first ever shopping trip in denden town ^_^

    http://lh5.ggpht.com/_4bJwIFP0MBc/SOpasopgoqI/AAAAAAAAACk/Z4NfoLx9yno/DSCF1791.JPG

I never get anything home in packaging though, i always take everything out of packaging, then repack it so i get about 6+figures in each figma-size-box then cram it into my suitcase, i go with an giant hellokittybackback with jus money, phone, ds etc in, as hand luggage and a big wheely case as checked, take barely anyclothes and fill it all with toys to come home!

Weight restrictions back and forth from UK suck though, I hear other coutries get 2x as much!

Last trip I had the humiliation of having to half empty all my luggage in the middle of narita airport, they asked me to put things i was was not going to take in a carrier bag, until my checked went within limits, then throw the carrier away, I put my old clothes and random crap I wasnt bothered about (macds toys etc) in it, then hid it under my coat , told them it was in the bin, and got away with it!! bwahahah. I think it's important to note by now that I posted a different picture in the original which can be found here:

    http://blog.cleartranquil.com/2009/05/reminiscence-of-japan.html

The picture above needs more explanation. It's important you realize this is our loot after 2 out of 5 trips to Akihabara. We took this on our 3rd day in Japan, we stayed there for 11. There was much more in the end. Although half that loot is mine, the other half belonged to a travel buddy (mainly the stuff on the right of the Nendoroids) who had an even more interesting time bringing it back. He needed to buy and extra checkable and an extra carry-on as well, and even paid $200 for overweight charges at the airport.

Thanks Danny for hijacking my original! I cannot believe how much traffic is on my blog right now, in the last day there's been 2000 views, and it's still early. That's really good for me. I'll be sure to save this picture for the loot contest! (Or maybe inform my travelling buddy of the contest and see if we can organize a TRUE loot picture. This one is only HALF of what we got).

Ah cool beans, Danny posted our photo!

I didn't include my loot in these photos, but I mananged to pickup some hard to find Knightmare Frames from Code Geass, a bunch of cool touhou stuff (including Marisa and Alice vinyl figures), a limited edition Star Wars Royal Guard figure from Gentle Giant [https://www.gentlegiantltd.com/catalog/product/detail/218], etc...

But yes, as ClearTranquil said, extra charges were added for the bag that contained all the loot on the right side of the photo (and then more that was bought by that traveler in future days).

ONLY $2000 (USD?) for all of that? It looks like way more. If thats how it is, then I should be next year when I go. I usually spend $1000 CDN at conventions here xD

Planning on going in the summer next year. Only planned with one friend right now, I'm thinking I need some more friends to bring to make it more memorable.

A Dreamcast! Damn. I should get mine fixed. Cheap, was it?

And I see a pair of Revoltech Max and Miriya Valkyries. Must have been relatively expensive.

Wow that's a lot of loot!

When I went last year I picked up quite a few books and CDs but ran out of space, (and was a bit cocerned about weight). When I go back next year I may well buy another case out there to allow me to bring more back

Manga and doujin can weigh a ton. Sending stuff back home via packages will cost a little more on top of the purchases but it gives you added float and more luggage space for figures.

As I recall, the dreamcast was 2500 yen. I also spotted a 2500 yen red Gamegear that I pointed out to the guy that bought the dreamcast, but he wasn't really interested. I should of bought it come to think of it, I love red colored stuff!

Oh, we also saw a Wonderswan Color w/ Final Fantasy 1 special promotion pack at Book-off for 2500 yen :3
