VIKA ARTHURの足に丸い木の部分がついており、それを使ってテーブルの高さを調整出来る。

    Here we go:

    Keep feet flat on floor
Knees 90deg bent (adjust seat height to account for this)
    Back straight
Arms 90deg and 1 inch hovering the desk <<<- I suppose you're looking for this
    Wrists straight
    Neck straight
Top of screen at eye level
Screen should be 1 arm length away from you
Well lit area, no windows in front or behind you to prevent glare (makes you squint = eye strain)

sitting this way, i can usually surf for hours on end

Though I don't really sit in that way, I can still surf for hours xD

but your back probably feels like crap when you get up. you're probably pretty tired too.

I had to go to a chiropractor in the later part of my teen life. 3x a week, 1.5hr sessions. I have what's commonly known as 'Pidgeon chest' or 'Pectus Carinatum'. Wiki it if you're interested.
Having good posture has burned itself into my life and im proud to say it makes me who i am today

That being said: SIT UP STRAIGHT EVERYONE

Now I know why my ribcage is deformed... =.=
Any tips on sitting up straight and keeping it that way? I tend to crouch back down as soon as I lose concentration, or my back starts hurting. (Usually my lower back)
My desk/chair/etc are already all in proper positions.

I was seeing a Chiro myself for a short bit. Nowhere near that long of a session. usually lasted about 15-20 minutes i guess. Nothing really happened either.

I got into one of those backless gowns, and the assistant guy would do some ultra sound therapy shit on my back for awhile. Than the Chiro would come in compare the length of my legs or whatever and then would "pop" me a number of ways to "adjust" me.

Really this did nothing for me at all, and I look at the "chiro work" i got as nothing more than a massage treatment type thing. It made me feel great for a couple hours, and then it was back to normal.

i follow all that except for the knees 90deg bent and feet flat on floor. i usually have it rested on a about half the height of my chair. I feel more relaxed that way. And I can sit in front of the pc for more than a day. ^^

I think the table surface should be lower in this photo. I'm no expert in ergonomics, but as I often spend 40+ hours a week in the lab I try to follow good practices so as not to aggravate my RSI any further than it already is. In the photo the elbows are raised so after long periods of time this will strain the muscles - it's better if there is closer to a right angle between upper & lower arm at the elbow.

THe ideal height for a desk/table: Whatever's most comfortable! I prefer to be able to keep my elbows near waist level myself--it's easier on my shoulders. I'm so short the only way I get that is with a keyboard tray though.

All desktop computer keyboards should be on a tray theres no way to have the arms going up the table to it. Its never been possible to be comfortable having the keyboard high either that tears up the hands wrists. Long ago the real lap tops were Atari 800xl computers, they required a pillow since they generated a lot of heat but was a all in one minus monitor keyboard computer. Had to have it on your knees and could use the full keyboard in games like F-15 strike eagle and use the joystick. Back then games used all the keys so any one with arms up like a little puppy begging to type would not get anywhere really fast but to the heating pad for the arms.

These new laptop computers offer an interesting problem right there. Also I never keep the computer case near me its back there on a 3 1/2 foot shelf off the floor to keep it away from the dust and dog hairs ect. The monitor at eye level is about right should at least look slightly down. Good luck laptop users...

Danny, You are dangerous to my wallet. With all this talk about the Ikea glass
desk, I went to their website to look around and found my nest computer desk.
No not the Vika but another one. Like I need to spend more money. Oh and I
forgot about the bookcase that I want too.
    Stop doing that Danny! LOL

Figures it was zero. I think Danny and Jack Benny were related. They're both
so cheap that their wallets have an unlisted pocket. ;o)
