Those clear rack are any good for Gundam models?
Wouldn't mind getting one or two.
Free stuffs when you shop even more? Now, why can't we have that here?
As for the Robot Damashii & GFF thing, IIRC, they're still making GFF.

I know how you feel. Since I stumbled on to Danny's site my Japanese food consumption has tripled. Maybe Danny is secretly embedding subliminal messages in his articles prompting people to eat more Japanese food. :p

i got the same feeling as you do. The pictures of food on Danny's site always make me feel hungry.

I've heard of cold noodles before, but didn't realize they actually put ice cubes on it (oooh and Kagami is back in action!). Smoking chamber!? That's pretty much gone around here. No more indoor smoking allowed in Vancouver. My workplace used to have one lunch room just for smokers.
Curious, how frequent do politicians go shouting out loud on the streets?

Olympus E-P1 - Been researching on this for a week now. Yes, this is LX3 killer with the Micro Four Third interchangeable lenses like DSLR but with much smaller & compact body. The price cost twice as LX3. Will be picking up my LX3 from the shop in about 4hours from now ^o^

Mamiya 6 is a rangefinder????

Yes, it's a 6x6 rangefinder... takes 120 and 220 film.
You can see the rangefinder window right there in the picture, in the upper right corner of the camera (while viewing it from the front) :D
It's really a beautiful system, compact and light.

Medium format rangefinders are great, especially the old folding ones. There are just as small as a 35mm/Digital SLR, but takes 6x6-6x9 cm images you just can't beat. They use super quiet leaf shutters and flash sych on all speeds.
I don't know why I sold mine off. orz
They brought back the Olympus PEN series as a 4/3 camera. The first I heard of that, but at that price range I'll get myself a Sony SLR then.

Book Off really have some good trade in deals, why can't the stores over here give more money for used games. Getting rid of games? That's madness! I keep all mine, well most of them anyway. Although out of that pile, probably Gundam Dynasty warriors.

I love the fact that Speed are back and they are tanned! I think most women not afraid of being naturally tanned are Okinawan. I'm so fed up of this unhealthy white skin trend.
Love that Gengar Pokemon shirt the kid is wearing at the mall.
New Gegege no Kitaro's smile is creepy because it's so unnatural.
And I love how unagi (eel?) tastes but hate the bones. People here will swallow them! So brave of them.
University Student
About the skin thing, it's funny you say that, here in the UK girls think that in order to be beautiful they need to have a tan so they end up looking practically orange (like ganguro girls), coated in fake tan and going on the sun beds! How odd!
writer/blogger/gamer/otaku
http://popgoespj.blogspot.com
It's even funnier here in the Philippines. Our natural skin colors are tannish, but the cosmetics industry is making a killing off the perception that pale skin is more beautiful....

But mmm... Japanese ramen! Some of the photos remind of Hong Kong such as the streets and stores. Missing the food from there already!
It's interesting how some of the stores just have a rope around them... Then again, they are inside a shopping mall so any thief would get caught on camera.
And nice PC case indeed! Cooler Master brand... First time I seen a case with glass front. The Centurion I have is screw-free which is great for expanding and saves time.
I hate to say this but, I can see why computer enthusiasts don't the old mini laptop... Usually they're all technology enthusiasts too which means always the latest stuff for them too. The non-enthusisasts on the other hand will just want something that works ^^;

Lots of weird junk hitches along when you pack, whether it's for a move or just for vacation. For some reason, I came back from Taiwan with a bunch of plastic utensils.
We see your office so often nowadays - usually through an interview or something. ^^ It's great for us film guys though. You generally want your interview subject to be someplace quiet, as well as in front of something that represents them. Offices are usually the former but not the latter. In your case, walking into your office is like walking into a montage of your life.

^^; As sketchy as it sounds...asking for forgiveness is far easier than asking for permission. Unless the plan is to sell those pictures, I would just go for it. If you're not allowed, they'll ask you to stop, at which point you a) either have the shot already or b) they make you delete it. Either way, you lose nothing. ^^;
...of course, that's assuming you didn't choose to shoot a picture of some sensitive location, like a military base or Tiananmen Square. >_> That's just asking for trouble.

Haha they used to give oshibori out at our local Japanese restaurant, but recently they switched to packaged sanitary wipe sort of things.
And that's an amazing ramen shop. @_@

Wow, Book-off pays that much for games? That's incredible!
Here, even if a game is brand new, the most I have ever seen someone get is about $15. The average seems to be anywhere from $2 - $5. I has a book-off somewhat near me, maybe I should see if they take games here.
And I too shall throw my name in for taking that laptop off your hands!

So, they don't want you to take stuff that other people have put out (image27187)? Most places would be happy to have them 'locally' recycled.

Japan ART No-Mat is looked better than mine. It's stylish. Mine is just cheap blue plastic with the green light and cheap switch even through it use the same refill as Japan version.
In my home theater room I still use 20 years old ART Mat to repel mosquitoes. Does Japan still sell ART Mat ?

Wow that mosquito trap sounds kinda crazy lol.
Also that camera store's price matching policy seems pretty generous. You try pulling off online price matching here and most stores will instantly reject your request. Well most major retailers anyways... A lot are cool with matching other stores with physical ads though.

Our house came packaged with the fridge and washing machine when we crashed in about 10 years ago. I think they leave it behind because it's a hassle to lug it with them (being old might also be the factor). We currently have the abandoned fridge in the second floor for the family we are renting to. ^^'

The prices for the games are actually more than reasonable. 3000 yen would be around 39 dollars, and that's what a game costs here. Of course I don't know the price of the games in Japan (only that they tend to be higher than in US) so maybe this isn't a reasonable as it seems.

That's cool that you think like an economist Danny. ^.^ I have just recently, since starting my Econ class a few weeks ago, started to think more like an economist. Do they not have e-recycle programs over in Japan? There's a big push for people to start recycling all their electronics that they don't want. You can drop it off at a bottle depot and they'll take it no questions asked. Lots of nasty chemicals in that stuff.

Interesting photo and comment which says allot about where you used to live. The same can be said for most any small to large metro in the states given the lack of morals and values in our society today which allot of it could be traced back to the 1960's and a certain Dr. Spock and his idea's about parenting.

Guess that your allot younger than I am but I've had four macs with floppy drives ( 1 currently ) and worked in a university computer lab where all the macs had floppies including the apple 2 sitting in the storage room / make out lounge. The imac generation basically did away with the floppy drive as well as starting the end of the zip and jazz drives and given the declining prices in thumb drive technology I'd wager that optic drives will be the next thing that apple does away with.
