Ahhhhh sweet! Yay for Koto!! I am prefering the default face. And lol at the crazy skull hair pin.

I'm not sure which I prefer out of the Gift or Koto... instinct says go with Koto since they're my favourite company... but both Yoko's have their good points. Gifts looks more pudgy faced and cuter, tho the thigh high socks are an odd colour. The Koto Yoko has 2 faces... + many accesories bits n bobs, and I love her seat! Mucho funky!!

Oh! Forgot to say, little brown critter, thats Boota, ne? I still haven't seen the anime... yet I preordered the UK Limited ed DVD 1st part lol.

And I'd always go for scarf on, but this is one of the few times it dont look strange. On the Fraulein Yoko(movie ver) it looks very weird lol. Long neck is long.

Bonta? You must be Botan. Bonta's from Fumoffu(just googled lol, had no clue of Bonta).

Why do all these mascots have to be brown, and have names that start with B? Its quite confusing at times....

I feel exactly the same way! You mentioned the hair, and when I first saw the announcement for the Kotobukiya Yoko, it's the first thing that occurred to me. In fact, it seems to me that almost ALL of the Yoko figures have had really shiny hair. The hair on Gift Yoko seems much more natural. I wonder why it is that the artists want to add so much sheen to her hair. Gainax artists don't really draw shiny hair on their character designs.... Hmmm....

image ID#26972 is my favorite shot, she just looks great sitting on your desk there.

Deciding between Gift and Koto is difficult, they both look really great. I like the detailing on both but the Koto Yoko with the wink is "Nakanaka kawaii" *-_^

Usually I don't care for winking figures because it's hard to get right with out it looking off.

But Gift's Yoko is beautiful to, but I think Koto would win for me.

    Damn Yoko figures will be the ruin of me. Too many to get ;_;

I personally like the Gift Yoko more because the Koto face is a bit too childish for her character imo. While the Gift one isn't showing Yoko in total badass mode either, I feel it's more like her from the TV series (haven't seen the movie yet either, so... ^^;).

Will definitely have to get both though. The amount of details and flexibility on the Koto figure is just amazing.

I like the Gift version better...

I don't think Kotobukiya's Yoko is correctly made... she seems too skinny, while in the anime, she's a bit chubby just like the Gift's version.

Even if it's adult version, I don't think Yoko is that skinny... especially the neck looks weird... The body is sort of like MF Real Image ver. , it's like real life human body...

I think I prefer Gift's Yoko too--I just love how candid the pose is, like you're just having a conversation with her while she decides her ponytail's falling down and needs to be fixed. As much as I love figures, not enough of them have that kind of spontaneity to the pose.

Kotobukiya did a great job on that Yoko figure...
One thing I dislike is all the tears and rips in her stocking and gloves. I think rips would be more appropriate on a action posed figure of Yoko with an angrier facial expression.
The smiling/winking just doesn't fit well with the "after-battle-like" wear and tear.

Quality and removable parts are really cool. But the proportions of this one seem to be a little bit different from the original character seen in the anime. I choose Gift because it is more accurate. However, it doesn't really matter since they both look very hot.

Mmmmhm, those curves are very nice. Thish-highs, every time, get me every time. Overall the figure is well sculpted but as personal preference I don't really like shiney parts, more of a matte finish kind of guy.
To compare Kotobukiya and Gift Yoko, i'm going to have to say Gift, most likely influenced by the face. I prefer the body of Kotobukiya, with all the details but Yoko's face on it looks a bit off, but can't quite put my finger on what.

I love this, it's one of the best sculpts of Yoko i've seen.

Danny, i have to ask; how have you not seen all of Gurren Lagann yet?
    It's just so damn awesome.
