日本ではエイプリルフールのほとんどは気軽に企画されているのだが(もちろん中では凄いものもある)、海外ではエイプリルフールは元々人を信じさせる事がポイントです。「あ、エイプリルフールだね」では無く、「何?!!!!」あるいは「エイプリルフールかどうか分かりにくい!」と思わせるのがポイント。
今年の当サイトのエイプリルフールのまとめです。
- 末永みらいグッズ (嘘ではない)
元々はエイプリルフールで始めたつもりですが、商品サンプルの品質があんまりにも高くて、商品化する事にしました。
Digicraftさん、アザミユウコ先生Hobby Stockさんとブロッコリーさんも協力して頂いて感謝しています。


- Figma Mirai (嘘ではない)
これも元々エイプリルフールで始めたのだが、GSCやMAXさんがここまで作って頂いた事に感謝しています。GSCやMAX側では仕事の合間にこれから塗装してくれるだそうです。しかし商品化するには大漁の注文がないと難しい。たくさんのユーザーが買ってくれるようにもっとガンバリマス。


-Fakku.net買収 (嘘)
Fakku.netは海外の有名な2次元エッチなサイトだ。ウェブマスターが知り合いで、このエイプリルフール企画で、トラッフィクがほかのサイトから倍増。

-ストームトルーパーおっぱいマウスパッド (嘘)
Mega Tokyoの管理人とコラボして、嘘のストームトルーパーおっぱいマウスパッドをストアに登録していた。しかし、なぜか欲しい人がいっぱいいるみたいです^^;
僕はいらん。

年に一度敷かないエイプリルフール。やるなら派手に、豪華に。今年のエイプリルフール企画で、世界中のサイトからのアクセスは凄かった。国内のサイトも特に抱き枕に関心を持っている。

このサイトは元JALのエンジニア、アマゾンのウェブサイトマネージャー、マイクロソフトのプロダクトマネージャーそして現在MIRAI株式会社の社長ダニー・チューが書いているブログです。詳しくは彼のプロフィールでどうぞ。

    Right on, Mirai merchandise was real, good to hear ^^ I didn't bother getting worked up about it because I won't believe anything I hear on April Fool's.     I love the whole Mirai lineup, plan on picking up at least the Figma, the prototype looks just lovely. ^^; Was it difficult to get the dakimakura in the production lineup due to the usually high retail price of that type of product? Ganbatte on the room selection, too.

    I guessed that the Fakku and oppai mousepad news items were April Fool's jokes. The merch quality is far too good for just a prank. I might have believed the Figma was fake if it didn't have some of the realistic flaws that are visible in the pics (tiny chips and flecks of moulding material still clinging to it) and 3D design would not likely show. =^_^=

    20,000 seems like a lot. Its like they don't want to go through with manufacturing the figma after all the work and time they've put into it.

    I'd be sure to buy at least one. If I have some extra cash around the time this come out, I'd get two.

    I knew that the Fakku.net and Megatoyko selling Stormtrooper was a Aprils Fool ^^
    You did a similar thing last year about buying off Megatokyo haha.
    (And the Miracle Mirai Nitro+ thing).

    It'll be hard to secure 20,000 orders indeed. Mirai needs something to get her flying out the door! Manga sounds like fun. :)

      There is a fair chance that it's something they did because it's Danny. They spent a while making it so if they should do that for people they don't know, then they should either charge an arm and a leg for it or go bankrupt. At least Mirai might have the potiential to make a profit and/or they think of it as a commercial to show off what they can do.

    Of all the April Fool posts, I was the least convinced of the Fakku.net aquisition. Not because of what you said but rather Jacob's words on the page that seem....too obvious, especially the last 2 paragraphs.


    As for Figma Mirai, 20k seems a lot but being the top recognised blogger, I don't think this number is a problem. Just start by deducting the 20k by the number of registered members, assuming each of us would want one and also those unregistered one. That alone will sum up to a few k's already. xp

    The dakimakura was originally meant to be an April Fool's only and now you really are going to produce it? That's hilarious! As is the fact that your wife puts the Mirai dakimakura in her office. XD

    20,00 is a lot. Granted, it sounds like a lot of us who frequent the site will buy her, and it's also possible that some people will pick her up just because she's so cute and energetic, but I agree it's probably not going to happen as things are now. It definitely is time to get off your butt and get that anime/manga into production!

    I might as well be interested in the Dakimakura. As for the figma is concern, direct sale is always good and I reckon I might get one myself, but 20k figma is not a small number. However, I am sure there are more than a few retail stores that would be willing to pick a hundred here and there. Along with the readership currently in dannychoo.com, 20k is fairly achievable.
