    Hey Danny, this Iron Man is actually more pose-able than it seems. The joints are kinda rigid at first due to the finishing. You might want to try to move them often to season it so as to get to your desired pose.

    Been playing with it a lot after I got mine. Other than some minor manufacturer's defects here and there, otherwise, this is definitely a good buy (",)

        Mainly several paint smudges and untended plastic molding lines. Some parts are fairly brittle too like you said. Broke one of the flaps near the heel while I was trying to move it around.

        One disappointment would be the overall color scheme seems darker than what I saw on their website. The color of the head sculpt also makes the face of Robert Downey Jr. appears tan.

        Maybe it just me, but as you can seen the color really differs a lot.

    Also it may look cool but i've heard Hot Toys figures in general are fairly brittle and have pieces that snap off easily if you don't handle it properly. For toys that cost more than $200 thats a bit risky i think.

    Though i'll admit Hot Toys Iron Man does look very cool. Its the ultimate movie accurate Iron Man figure to own.

    I am not an electronics person but that doesn't stop me from trying. As you already know, be careful with custom USB hookups. You do not want to short your computer ^^;

    USB2.0 provides 5V and 100mA of power: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB#Power

    For a single LED, there's this: http://www.instructables.com/id/SG3EJS1F4OXGE4Q/

    For Ironman, I would consider what voltage and power the batteries provide, and compare this to what USB provides. I would imagine that there are already resistors in place, and that the LEDs are wired in parallel. If the batteries provide more than 5V I think you are safe without needing more resistors, since USB would then likely be underdriving Ironman. I would dismantle Ironman to check.

    Online LED resistor calculators work off of Ohm's Law, but require that you know the specifications for the LEDs you're using so they're not of much use, I think.

    An alternative to USB would be to use a wall-wart (and then there's the option of choosing a different voltage and power)...

    I actually JUST did a project involving USB and LEDs. You basically just have some minor rules to contend with and a few simple equations.

    USB provides 5v and 100mA of current. As long as you stay within those limits you should be fine.

    To figure out what resistor values you need you need to look at the forward voltage of the LEDs themselves. For example, if you have an LED with a forward voltage of 3.4 you then subtract that from the total voltage, 5v in this case which leaves you with 1.6v. You then use the Ohm's Law to determine your resistor value. Ohm's Law is V=IR where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance. You also need to use the equation P=IV where P is power (watts), I is current and V is voltage. Using the values we have such as the max current possible is 100mA we can then determine resistance. Using Ohms Law:

    V = I*R -> R = V/I -> R = 1.6v/100mA = 16 Ohms

    This is only for a single LED to do more you have to wire the LEDs + resistors in parallel and modify the equation. When simplifying a circuit, resistors add in parallel like this:
    1/(1/R+1/R+1/R) where R is any arbitrary resistance.

    Using that logic and the equations above we will do an example. Say we want 5 resistors in parallel. Then we would add the resistances
    1/(1/R+1/R+1/R+1/R+1/R) = R/5

    Then we substitute that into Ohm's Law
    V=I*R/5 -> R = V*5/I

    So in summary, a generalized equation for this would be:
    R = (5v-forward voltage of LED)*(Number of LEDs you want)/100mA

    If you have any questions don't hesitate to message me.

    Hot Toys stuff is really awesome these days, my bf got this Iron Man and I love how well made it is. Thinking of getting the Michael Jackson one (whatever anyone says, he's still a music legend) :)

    nice score Danny, here's an idea for kitbashing a Tony Stark (http://tinyurl.com/dlqq3h) using the extra head that comes with the figure.

    OMG that's so freakin' COOL. Tried to search it online but pretty much sold out everywhere -.-

    Now is REALLY interested in IronMan Mk.II, but money does not allow me to click the Pre-Order button ;_;

    Wonder which is cooler tho, the Mk.II or Mk.III....

    I have the Mark II version. I'm thinking about buying the Mark III one, but I'm not so sure... You're photos are convincing me, though! Haha!
