Was watching the video when it suddenly occurred to me - so far nearly all the videos I've seen of you have you speaking in English, and just a few phrases of Japanese at most. This made watching quite a different experience.

Also noted that you got noticeably more comfortable as the video went on. ^^; It really is weird isn't it - sitting there talking to camera.

I tend to do that as well whenever I speak. I know and don't want to do it but I can't help it when I concentrate on what I say rather than how I say it >.<

I think some people are just like that. People see it as being uncertain of what to say (not knowing the subject well enough) but I do it even when I know the subject well enough. This always reduce my grade at oral exams D:

I'm certainly looking forward to the Hanakuso Trooper movie. Er. Salaryman Trooper Movie, I mean. Of course.

(Sorry. The 'that's snot' line made me laugh.)

And indeed, the 'eeto desu ne' density in this video is very high. I didn't get to talk to you in person yet (and it's unlikely I ever will, at least not anytime soon), so I'm kinda wondering if that's just camera nervousness (something I suffer from as well), or if you always talk like that. D:

As for the poll, it almost scares me how much I understood. I took Japanese lessons for close to two years, then had to stop, that was like four years ago, and I'm totally out of it, can't read it worth crap, can't write it worth crap, either.

But it seems like watching boatloads of fansubbed anime helps a lot with vocabulary and grammar sense. I'm positive I understood close to 80% of all that. Curious.

Nice job with the video. Very clear although I see you haven't managed to get rid of the "ettos" yet. The conference presentations must have really helped. Like the "wake up call" half way through! And I'm pretty sure I can hear music in the background...

Well, good luck with the awards! Will be interesting to see what you do with the trooper suit next year. I think you will be very uncomfortable sleeping in it though - especially with the helmet on =P

Lucky you. I needed an extra course once and decided to try Japanese. It turned out that English were the only foreign language I could pick. Looks like engineers don't have to speak anything but English.

Well, out of 10 I know 0.2(that seems to me a bit too much actually. Maybe it should be 0.1) Japanese but I did understand a little bit here and there. Say, that "Ettooo..." Means "Hmmm... ; Ummm...", right? In my region it's: "Ahmyyy..." and stuff I'm sure all(or most of you at least) use - "Mmmmm...." "Aaaa..." "Hmmmm..." "UUuuu" and such! XD

Oh, forgot to add - Danny, you look great with just the helmet on and black clothing. Plus the beginning of the video is cool - you, sitting in the cair, busy look at the camera and just when you're about to look again at the monitor you realise you're being filmed. Something like that! It's cool! And that black thingy hanging and swaying from helmet helmet...

I think I've still got lots to learn even after taking LV2 of the JLPT, so I ticked the 50% category. Still, I lol'ed at the suggestion that Danny left running nose stains on that helmut.

I've also been noticing Danny always seem to have a flash of CATS from "All Your Base"/Zero Fighter fame inserted for a split second in all his videos. Is it some sort of signature to make sure the video's made by Danny?

'Eetou' is simply a filler when people are thinking of what to say next. For some reason Japanese people say it ALL the time, as in near constantly. It seems Danny has picked up the same habit.
