I didnt spot the Merlin thing from your warner goodie bag first time round!!! I wanted to watch Merlin when it started in the UK... but I completely forgot it was on.... and haven't caught up.... I will get round to watching it sometime I'm sure.
I've also remembered what Promax reminds me of.... the fake drug Plomox from Scrubs lol. (The drug Julie is peddling in series 2 I think...)

      And also.... 49% :woop:

Haha. From the start, I had always wanted the mediatainment industry. Get a job as a movie producer, make lots of cash and fame.

Can't wait for this Wednesday, Danny. I see you've been preparing a lot, since you hardly go online these days. I sent something to you on Facebook two days ago. :)

regarding the parliament where a bunch of people shout at each other regarding how the country should be run, our dear leaders don't do that. they speak politely on issues that need attention at the same praise how well the current system already is. politics.

"The venue was The Old Parliament where a bunch of people used to shout at each other regarding how the country should be run."

Don't think that happened after independence... Our parliament is very very quiet...

And after the Animax talk, Mr Danny Choo, May i invite you to the M-Con2008

It's a showcase of Singapore's best modelers... Not only for Gunpla, but also Aircraft, Armor and Automobiles.

That's awesome stuff Danny. I've been very impressed by the opportunities you get to speak about otaku culture.
I want to get into the video game industry as an artist. I've had a guest speaker from EA Mythic (*now just* Mythic) talk to a group I was in and he pretty much unfolded my destiny in front of me to see what I need to do.

I want to work somewhere in the media area. Hence I took a course named 'Software Systems for the Arts and Media' (Yes, mouthful).

When I'm looking for a job now, I get things like, web design (only). Well, thats from Jobsite though. UK is getting into a jobless crisis at the moment.

Danny, if you were to hire, what sort of position would it be? (other requirements is obvious like know multi-language and own at least 3 candy girls or 30 Dakimuras). Just curious.

I forgot Danny, go try Ya Kun Kaya Toast Set. It's a traditional breakfast set thingy we have here in Singapore. Can be eaten for light snack too.

    - Half-boiled egg
    - Kaya toast (Kaya is a coconut jam thingy)
    - Choice of drink (Coffee, Tea.. normally I get Teh-O which means Tea w/o milk)

You might have had it in Malaysia before. But please do try it, it's awesome I promise ^^

Danny, I've always wondered - when you're so busy, is it ever difficult to keep up with the stuff you're talking about? A few talks I've been to, I get the impression that the speaker, having been so successful on the circuit for so long, overextended himself and is so busy with speaking that he's a bit disconnected from the current material.

A quick question tough: What was Andreas Uiker, the vice President of RTL II, talking about? Its a pretty mediocre german TV Channel showing some mediocre Animes in the kids timeframe

looking forward to seeing u in action tmmr at Animax workshop Danny! managed to get a day off instead of applying leave from office.

i guess you could say i'm in the creative media industry too. for everyone who's not in one but wants to be in one, let me just say its not always fun n games or fame n fortune, get ready for looooong hours, crazy deadlines, creative differences (creativity is very subjective) and lots of weird people! <^;^>

    Graham.... Graham...

So that must be why Graham wimped out in the last episode of gundam and ran off xD
No time for Gundam But kicking...
He had to run to your conference...

I have to say the room does look a little intimidating to make a presentation in thoughxD

    Grats on your presentation Danny! Good to hear you didn't get very nervous once you started, but I'm somewhat like you, when there's a big thing coming I can hardly eat anything. ^^;

kinda off topic but related; question is open to anyone

is keynote more effective than powerpoint at making presentation slides of this sort? i find that powerpoint has too many options for business presentations. want to try keynote out.

    One curious question Danny:
Do you rehearse the whole presentation to yourself in your own time and time it?

Yep - prepping slides in ones head and reading it out aloud is completely different. Try it yourself and you will see what I mean.

Sure, I wouldn't mind working in media or Entertainment. Part of what I like about Web Development type work is it leaves one open to many possibilities. I like having work that allows me to step into other industries and fields of work. Most like it is because I have interest in many different things and the feeling of diversity in my career. Don't you feel your work with Good Smile is Entertainment related Danny? Certainly user generated Web Development is Media, as I see it... ^^

Right now I don't feel I'm getting everything I need with my CIS minor. I will continue to find ways to add to my skills as I always have in the past... I'm just excited to get to that part.

Danny I forgot to mention this before but have you ever looked at Remote Buddy? http://tinyurl.com/5a8o6m

I know you have used IOSPIRIT apps in the past. I like how I can program behavior of specific app. function for the Apple Remote and other remotes as well as, control for any app. I want. Also there is a nice AJAX interface for iPod Touch/iPhone.

Damn, wish I could attend such events... Again I'm jealous of you Danny.. hahaha...

By the way, 1 question, for someone who have the interest but lack the knowledge and experience - let alone contacts with those big agencies... can they attend such event ? As observers maybe... of coz after paying the entrance fee etc.

Is that possible Danny ? And would you be kind enough to share with us how to find out about such events.. specially those that you will be involved with - giving talks/presentation etc.
