Nice Pictures Danny. I can tell from your pics that You eat out a lot don't ya. Its interesting how the prices for some of your things such as the sushi and pizza were cheaper than the small sandwich.

Just thinking that's kinda odd is all. Oh and in your first pictures, are those little girls looking at you? I can just imagine what they are thinking about a guy taking pictures of them.

Fuel has been fluctuating between 145 yen and lately up to 165 yen per litre ..... down near where i work anyway, so actually still cheaper than Australia ... and considering the much shorter distance you need to drive here it's a lot cheaper.

          Where I live (UK), it's absolutely insane. It's roughly £1.00 per litre at my nearest petrol station, which is roughly $9.00 per gallon. $4.00 seems like a bargain to me. ^^;

All the folks over here in the US are freaking out about how much fuel costs now. In Chicago it's about $4.65 USD per gallon, which is about ¥132 JPY per litre. So the cost of fuel in the US is finally starting to catch up to the rest of the world, and everyone is upset. I guess people suddenly can't afford to fill up their Hummers and Cadillac Escalades (insanely-huge houses-on-wheels). Go figure.

I remember having Pasta in Japan before, and I was quite surprised how bad it was. Tasted like Chunky Ketchup on Noodles instead of Italian food, but it could of just been the restaurant I was at (was somewhere in Kyoto). I remember Johnathans being pretty good though.

Something I noticed in one of your pictures though, Why is there 3 nozzles at the gas pump? I've never seen more than 2, which is normally just Gasoline and Diesel.

Lots of Japanese and misc. food, glad I just ate! It seems like as you grow older, you just don't have enough time to finish the games you buy T_T I guess that's why people play online RPG where there's no specific end, you just do party play, raid some dungeons, expansion comes out with more materials and you go doing more of the same stuffs with no end -_- I remember the back in the days I would save my money to buy games like Final Fantasy IV and Axelay and would play them until I beat them and was so happy with the feeling of acomplishment. I can hardly feel like that as of late...

Tako Yaki, Tako Yaki. I tried Tako Yaki from a place on Chuo Dori in Akihabara the last time I was in Tokyo. I thought the Octopus Balls themselves weren't too bad but the guy piled on some kind of dried fish flakes on them as he was handing them to me. I was...not a fan.

I'll be in Tokyo in early October and I think I'll give them another try, minus the fish flakes. What are those flakes called anyway?

Long post is long... forgot the first question.
Ok... we don't do number of accidents and death because it would require an animated version to keep the numbers updated.
If I'm not mistaken, car accidents are the number one reason of death in Brazil.
It's been proven that most of the accidents are caused by wreckless driving, followed by DUI.

About games... too many of them nowadays. I used to complete all games when I was a kid, but just can't nowadays. I usually only play them a little, have some fun, and then try the next one.

But I did finish some. Portal, CoD4... Rocket Slime on the DS and one funny and unknown RPG for the PSP... forgot the name. Gurumin.

Let's see... no Tescos in Brazil.
I also had pasta today... but it was gnocci.

Finally, we have the same taste for graffiti Danny.
Take a peek at the one I got last week here:

    great food coverage
okonomiyaki reminds me of horikita maki in teppan shoujo akane
takoyaki is one of my fav - always get a couple when i go to jusco (1 ball around 40 yen).
is jusco huge over there? is part of aeon right?

as for games, its 50% normally finish it. for those i cannot finish - i usually end up cheating (cheat codes or hex edit it) and there are those you can never finish - cause they have no ending (e.g GTA, the Sims, bla la la la )

Danny, I always wondered how would someone without a Japanese name get their Hanko done? Katakana?
I've seen those being sold for like 100 yen but they only come with Japanese surnames.
Also isn't there a higher chance of forgery? since all you need is to buy a 100 yen seal.

Chinese folks usually get their Chinese Kanji. Folks with no kanji name make a Katakana one. Or they may choose Ateji - Kanji which sounds like their name.

I'd have no trouble with the Hanko though, now that I got married and have a Japanese last name anyhow :P

I really like that first photo Danny. It's a great photo to play around with in Photoshop. ^^

Seen traffic accident signs in state police offices when I was young. Usually during the summer after holidays such as Labor Day when many Americans travel by car.

New hanko stamp is one of the first things my wife and I bought... I never realized that often Japanese have more than one.

I like egg on pizza. My wife also puts tuna fish on pizza.

    Sure I knew that... Haven't you ever notices the line of ball-less octopus coming out of takoyaki shops? ^^; Poor things are on the short side, so it's easy to miss them... ^^;

Nice pics. A lot of houses may have a fairly minimalist look to their exteriors, but I find the architecture of large public, and private buildings more than makes up for it. Maybe the simple house designs are way of balancing things out...btw, that bike park looks like an absolute nightmare to deal with. >_<

Actually there are Tescos in Hungary too. The biggest one is in (yeah, inside) a shopping centre.
Tesco is popular here, because it's really cheap, but before they started to sell the UK Tesco products, they had been just.. "trashfood", I don't know, how to call it. So it was more a sad place, than a shop, where you could buy something to eat.
Anyway, that changed. But it's still a place for poor folks.. (that's kinda sad, I love the UK Tesco Chocolate Cookies).

Awesome post ^^ I just thought I'd comment about the difference here in Pueblo, Colorado with regards to traffic accidents. Here it's basically tallied up in the local newspaper, where we have sections for police reports, etc. But, if you drive down any of the main roads in town you'll see flowers on a cross in many places where someone died in a traffic accident. Traffic accidents are way too common in these parts, and a large amount of them result in fatalities.

Where to begin with this post...

-After watching 13 episodes of Hana yori Dango a looong time ago, I discovered it was too much of a chick show for me.
-I have tons of games I've never finished. Though I'm convinced some of them are unbeatable anyways (some of my Genesis arcade ports).
-We have that same exact static-hand thing here in CA. Also, gas only costs me 30-ish bucks to fill up. I rarely drive and my Toyota gets about 23/4 miles per gallon. Insurance is my main cost, argh.

Also, I just realized it's 3AM. My internal clock is broken even when I reset it.

No, it's only like an 8 gallon tank. So If I'm filling up when it's near empty that's about 7 gallons or so. With 5 dollar gas is 7 times 5 which makes it 35 bucks. See?

Lunch break at work for our department- MARCOM, because there's only 6 of us, can be taken at any time. We usually go around 2pm because 12-1pm is the business in the kitchen/canteen area and that it makes the afternoon shorter by having a slightly later lunch.

We have national and state road tolls or traffic accident reports on the news at least weekly if not daily. They usually make a bigger deal about it during holidays to warn people to drive more safely and compare it to previous years' road accident fatalities.

Most of the games I buy nowadays go unfinished mainly because I just don't have the time or patience to play it regularly enough. Last game I finished was No More Heroes, which I still want to go back and play a second time to collect the game artwork cards. Still want to finish DMC4 as well. Can't think of any games that I brought that were a waste of time. I'm not into GTA-type games any more and I still haven't got MGS4 mainly because I know I just won't have time for it.

I love takoyaki or octopus balls :) There aren't any takoyaki takeaways in Melbourne that I know of and last I heard the only real one in Sydney just reopened and relocated.

We don't have a Tesco here in Australia but they were planning to bid for one of our giant grocery retailer Coles but pulled out. We have the US Costco coming here soon though. Personally, I want Tokyo Hands. Wonder if they would call it Melbourne Hands...

I just got my car checked up last weekend. Cost me AUD $320.

Spicy food is not in my daily diet, but I do love curries, especially Thai green curry and Japanese curry.

Great coverage once again, Danny! Much appreciated.
We have a board that announces raod deaths/accidents here as well, Arrive Alive is the group that advertises it (I think). Very nostalgic, seeing those older games, are they easilty available in Japan?

When I was learning to drive back then I always had to travel pass a tunnel in a hill. At the entrance of one side shows the annual casualties (injured + deaths) from road accidents as well as the casualties as of today. They usually stay around 18,000 to 19,000 range, with roughly 200 being deaths.

Perhaps others are lucky enough not having to see or hear demotivating things as often as I have to; I've even heard them from family members now and then.

I won't take their words of course Danny, but I adknowledge that they did say them so I understand their situation(s) and why they think in such way. For me it's also important that I understand such people while not taking their words. That was why I made such a long and random reply in your suicide campaign post a while ago, not as a rant but to let people unstand why such people take such actions:

Pizza with half-boiled egg!!? o.O is that for spreading over the pizza or rolling on the table? seems really weird to me ^^; I really cant stomach spicy stuff; once I eat it, my tears automatically roll down for no reason.

I remembered I was playing Diablo II and theres once when I cant take the shock from dying in such a lame place (being owned by zombies and died infront of the first boss' door) that I quited for months, but I did return to complete the game.

The food looks delicious, I would totally go at that pizza. There is a thing with gas stations- as you open your tank lid there is a hint of vapors coming out, also there are vapors released as you fill up- so it is for the best to discharge any static before filling. I always touch the body of my truck to discharge static, and before I work with any sensitive electrical components (mossfets) I ground myself and rid myself of static. It is rare, but static electricity mixing with gas vapors can and will cause a catastrophic explosion.

    Um, tescos?

I used to play all night until I finished a game, nowadays I can hardly stand sessions longer than 4 hours. I don't know if it's the quality of games that has degraded, or my motivation. But I can't get around finishing games these days like I used to.

I bought GTAIV, never got passed 50% simply because I couldn't get rid of this ''meh'' feeling throughout the game. Same thing happened to me with The Witcher, stuck at the beginning of chapter 4. I hope Fallout 3 and The Force Unleashed bring some change in that.

Maybe it's just that I'm beginning to lose interest in games, as I'm getting older.

I finish most of the games thay I purchase, though I didn't finish "Xenosaga II" since I couldn't get used to the battle system at all and it ended up frustrating me too much. And I play games to relax and enjoy myself, so I dropped it.

As for lunch, yes, corporate and regular restaurants, food vendors have a huge peak around noon to one past noon over here.
Where I currently work I tend to just stuff my lunch in my mouth shortly after noon while working and running around as I don't make the time to relax and sit down properly to eat these days. (I usually bring my own sandwiches to work.)
However this isn't healty so I need to start taking a suitable lunchbreak again to eat calmly. But I rarely can bring myself to do so when I see the work that piles up.

I can barely start a game I purchase so of course I have trouble finishing them. I have about 15-25 games that I have not started on yet and a majority of those are JRPGs. Games that I have started recently have all made me think I'm liking video games less and less.

I usually finish the games that I buy, although sometimes, it can take a while... Especially if there's some kind of post-ending secret stages, or something like that.

Very nice. It seems like you eat out a lot. ^^ But of course the food must be really fresh!

I live in a state in Malaysia where 'Masak Lemak Cili Api' is famous
it's a very very very spicy yellow coloured gravy cooked with fish/ chicken/ meat/ seafood
fresh tumeric, lemon grass, chillies (the small super spicy ones) and coconut milk are the main ingredients....
and there's also 'sambal' ...fried blended dried chillies (you have to boil it first before you put it in the blender) cooked with almost anything...
if you know nasi lemak then you obviously know what it is...:D
so yes basically I eat spicy food on a daily basis
