Code Geass for me is the best I've watched at the moment, I've heard from many that Macross is well put together.

I'm not sure about Gundam 00, heard it gets "good" after episode 10 or something. I'll watch it when I have some spare time.

I'm not into anime right now to be truthful, been on a "brake" from it I guess.

I simply can't get enough Code Geass. I've actually began keeping track of time using Code Geass as a point of reference. As in, "homework was due 3 Geasses ago".
A couple weeks ago, Wildarmshero wrote a really funny blog post about why Geass is so appealing. Agree 100%

Hmmmm really hard to choose!!! I'm watching all of them right now, and they were great!! >_<

Animation Quality wise, Macross definitely wins hands down ^^ Really love the Dogfights, and of course, the songs ^^

I have mixed feeling with Code Geass, because overall their story line is the same as Season 1, so far ^^; It's still a good series though.

I have to was it until all the series end then I can choose XD

Macross F vs Code Geass R2 vs 00..?

Macross F wins by a long shot. But 00 does have an advantage as it's "over" for now... =/...

Hm, I think GundamOO has the better writing and characters. Im really looking forward to S2. Geass hasnt really done anything for me. Macross is pretty good so far, but its story seems to be plodding a bit. I think the production design and animation far exceed GundamOO or Geass. I hope the story and characterizations can keep up .

If GundamOO can get better anim and production design, I think itll be the best of 08...

Currently loving Geass, but I haven't tried Macross yet, mostly because I can only watch so many shows at one time, and I try to watch different types of shows during each season, like Geass, ToLoveRu, Tower of Druaga, and Special A instead of filling it all with giant robot anime.

Done watching Gundam 00 and now transferred to a Dvdr. Currently watching the latest subbed release of Macross Frontier and Code Geass R2. Love 'em both... For Macross F, there's a CG and cute ladies worth watching and for Code Geass R2, there's always Lulu/Zero's twisted mind and his excellent war strategy (reminds me of Light Yagami), Kallen, C2 and more ladies... not to mention, the coolsome battle. As for Gundam 00... well.. it's gundam, that's all..Grace is cute as well..

I personally thought Gundam 00 owned, the last 10 episodes were so epic; it was just one thing after another.
    The other 2 are also good;
Macross has a history and good mechs
Code Geass looks like a cross between the tactics of Death Note and Gundams' mech warfare.

I've watched (been watching) code geass and gundam 00 - haven't picked up macross just yet.

The decision is pretty hard since code geass is already into its second season while gundam 00 just ended its first one, but for now, I'd have to say that I like code geass a bit more. Gundam 00 is great in the respect that some things you can definitely relate to what's going on in the world today and stuff, but I think code geass is just more entertaining to watch.

Anyway - I think gundam 00 is definitely worth watching through.

I like 00, I really do... But I choose Frontier b/c of the Macross innovations, like the Armor Pack Valk being able to change, or the variable Monster (which supposedly, from what I heard, is not new, but new to me, so plus), and the Macross Quarter (a new definition for ship combat).

As for 00, I did not mind the deaths (which in a sense, built up more of a drama... Although the last episode had way too much death, and those who should have died are not dead...). As well, I am a fan of the Gundam design for 00 (other than Dynames. The MP stuff, other than the Flags, are rather ugly... The Enact is the worse...)

CG was meh to me... I mean, I am happy to watch it, but yea... It's sorta meh to me...

    Code Geass, Gundam, than Macross

I'm a die hard gundam fan so I'm a little biased on this though but I thought this was better than Macross. I didn't really like the bishies and all but this gundam series had it's own unique appeal such as the solar drives? or w/e and the elevator concepts were very interesting.

Macross Frontier's first episode was just FREAKING AMAZING when I watched it I thought that this show could actually beat out Code Geass but boy I was I wrong. The show was just one disaster after another with the latest episode being a great example of what I'm trying to say. I mean the character design, and overall quality was just going everywhere and I just found the overall storyline very cliche. Also I'm really starting to hate Ranka she's so annoying but I love SherylXAlto which is the only reason I still watch it.

Code Geass is the best show airing right now. When I think I think it can't get any better I'm proven wrong. Every episode with a few exception just keeps getting better and better.

I chose Macross F, even though it's the first Macross I have ever watched. It's simply the best overall anime this season.

As for the other twos, I also enjoy or enjoyed (in case of gundam 00) but I don't like them as much as other series I'm watching this season.

Danny u did not gave me a choice to choose 2!

Same like u, i think Gundam OO is really nothing compare to this 2 anime that is on air currently.

I vote for Macross becoz the heat on Code Geass drop since it make me wait 1 year!

But to be honest this 2 anime is god like, u wont get anime tat is always exciting in almost every episode, the Gundam OO almost bored me to death becoz of the lot of talking and the front 12episode doing all those side tracking......man i think Gundam Franchise is going die if they continue to produce all this lame gundam story. Maybe we will get another sequel of Code Geass after this end, and Code Geass will be going the Gundam route, code geass Z, Code geass ZZ, Code Geass "Suzaku Counterattack", Code Geass F91........man the list goes on.

Haven't seen Macross, but kind of agree with your opinion of the other two.

Geass's plot is regularly ridiculous, but as a result, very entertaining. What I don't enjoy is the occasional recaps of its plot and premise. I keep getting the feeling that I'll be upset if the series abruptly ends, but more so if it gets stretched too long.

Being new to the franchise, the first installment of Gundam 00 was easy to pick up, and quite enjoyable. I enjoyed its physics technicality, injections of humanness, and balance of opposing forces.

For Macross Frontier, I noticed during one episode, I think it was Alto(or one of the pilors) climbing a ladder to get into his fighter... you'd think such an advance looking world would at least have an escalator of some sort to get onto their machineries :P

As for Gundam00, I watched it and almost dropped it but since husband continued watching it he let me know when the story finally started picking up it's pace, so we finished the series together, actually look forward to the next one :3

I pick Code Geass R2 for its plot the best out the three, imho. Macross F comes close, but I notice the graphic quality doesn't stay consistent. And for Gundam 00, well I watch because it has Gundams; not the characters or the story that keeps me watching til the end.

Out of those three shows, Macross F is easily my fave. I was a Macross nut before I was ever a Gundam fan, so I was ecstatic when news about Macross F first came up, and thus far it's lived up to my expectations. The VF-25 might be my new favorite Macross variable fighter (current favorite is the YF-19 from Macross Plus). Pretty much all the characters are awesome (except Sheryl, though after episode 5 she isn't as much of a bitch as I initially thought), with Alto and Ranka being my two favorites.

As for Gundam 00, season one was cool, but not really one of my favorites as far as Gundam series go. We'll see if that will change after the second season airs this Fall.

Finally, Code Geass lost me back during season one when a certain character that I adored got totally screwed over. I haven't watched the last two episodes of season one or any of the season two because of that. Maybe once I've gotten over it I'll marathon the series all at once, but as of right now it's not very high on my prioirty list. From the linearts I've seen in hobby magazines though, a couple of the new mechs in season two do look pretty badass (namely Todo's Zangetsu and the Guren MKII Flying Type).

Code Geass R2 basically shows where Lulu got all his bad traits from, aka his father, if one day Lulu succeeds in taking over his father, I doubt his father would disapprove.

I actually still quite like Code Geass sofar cos its rather different from the typical anime in terms of scheming and remorseless lvl.

Ive watched the whole first series of gundam 00 i admit it probably sucked at first... but then it got much much better later on danny, i liked it better at the end then the beginning. Geass and Macross frontier are currently on my on arrival watch list. I personally think macross is epic... geass is great too because its less predictable. Out of the 3 though i do choose macross but their all great i have to say.

In my opinion, I can't choose between either of those three series, they are equally just as good.

If you dropped Gundam 00, I really recommend you continue watching it when you have spare time. The series might be meh at the beginning and just not as interesting but damn, it gets way better later on and the series progresses alot. The gundam battles are very intense and just suspenseful. So here's hoping you watch all of it! I MEAN, COME ON, IT'S GUNDAM, DANNY! XD

As for Macross Frontier, I am in love with that series, I love everything about it. Same goes for Code Geass. I'm really satisfied with this season's anime line.

What a choice! My eternal love for Macross is pitted against the gripping twists in Code Geass.

I hurts to say this but CG R2 is by far the better show. It has the action of Frontier but trades the human emotion compotent for multiple captivating moments.

The end of episode 8? Epic. End of Macross Frontier episode 8 -- meh, that was interesting (although episode 7 was really good).

Would have to pick Macross. I have always loved all Macross series, minus Nekki Basara, but the new series is good on it's own merit. The animation is great, the music is good, and the CG is well implemented.
I like R2, but I really want Lelouch to have an epic fail. It may just be me, but really I want the Emperor or Schneizel to just screw his plans up. And then there's Rolo. Sigh. He is confused in more ways than one.
Gundam 00 was good, but the pacing was funky, and I was hoping for a character that could be a Char redux or something. Hopefully, G-00 season two will be better with the pacing, and a more prominent antagonist will appear.

Can't comment on Code Geass 2 because I haven't watched the first season yet. Bout Macross F and Gundam 00, well they're completely different series, I like both genres but Macross is almost always about relationships and survival of the human race, while Gundam is more about war and politics.

Gundam/Code Geass and then Macross F. I started out utterly enthralled with Macross Frontier, but it's fallen drastically out of favour with me ever since episode 03 came around. The whole series has arguably been mismanaged and has really offered no new plot developments in over 6 episodes and some of the characters are even starting to grate on me a little. It doesn't help that the character animation can't at all stay consistant between episodes. I really hope the plot starts to get moving a little faster as these high school hijinks episodes are really really not helping me like the characters any more.

Code Geass on the other hand has been building it's latest season up quite well with episode 08 being the payoff for everything that's been presented in the Japan arc thus far and continues to keep things interesting with great character relationships and intermingling storylines. It's Sci-Fi Opera at it's strongest.

Gundam 00 was also great as well. It starts off slow and a lot of people got caught of guard because it spent much of the first half building up the setting rather than the characters. It's debatable whether they could have done a bit more early on, but the end package was incredibly satisfying and left me anxious to find out what had happened to all the characters I'd become interested in. I think my favourite part of it all is how it's the first Gundam series since Turn A to really offer a fresh new take on the whole Gundam concept itself. Are they tools of destruction and demons as the Three Powers (now Earth Federation) believed or are they saviours who will bring an end to the suffering caused by war? Are they both, neither? And that's just the Gundam concept let alone how it was all set up. A lot of people claim it's just a Gundam Wing update, but I think it's a whole new beast unto itself that has no precedent in any Gundam that has come before in the vein that Gundam Seed could be seen as an update of the original and Destiny of the rest of U.C combined into one giant clusterf*** of incoherency.

It also brought back to the forefront something that was missing all throughout the Seed years and that was flawed characters with good intentions, villainous characters with more going for them then just a desire to kill everyone, and a strong civilian front to give an outsiders perspective to everything that is going on. Nobody is absolutely right or wrong, but just trying to make it out okay....and shades of grey abound in a lot of the actions that the characters took. Gundam 00 has arguably breathed new life into a franchise that was fading fast under the mismanagement Fukuda/Morosawa and it made me remember again after so long why I fell in love with Gundam and what made it my favourite multimedia franchise of all time.

    Gundam OO does pick up after episode 10 or so, it does seem boring at first. It gets pretty exciting towards the end of first season so keep watch it til end if you can ^^;

I wholeheartly agree about the Macross Frontier, I also think it's the best Macross so far. I like how each episode constantly remind me of some part of original Macross but does it much better. I like the mech design and the awesome battle scenes. I really love the music by Yoko Kanno and I really, really love Sheryl >_<

danny do really watch gundam00 when you have the spare time. true, it was slow in the begining but it gets better. lots of emotion battle and struggle for the characters as it progress. waiting for season2 for gundam00.

was a macross fan from young....those were the days....dame, i feel old. macrossF is best. currently is telling the emotion part for ranka...u know u like the person and cant tell ur feeling and so depressing to see another person showing affection all out....that is ep8

i usually go for quality of story and how they portray the character feelings n emotions, designs for characters ans sets and also visual.

currently watching macrossF and blassreiter(may drop soon)
    dropped anime---
tower of druaga--dont have anything that intresting jus plain jokes too many
to love ru--jus too many jokes and lala disappearing cloth too often, wonder wat is the story ??? only prefer manga
CodeGeassr2--watched season one, like it cos the plot of story is good but r2 seem to be repeating

in my opinion macrossF and gundam00 are equally good. no offences intended for codegeass anime fans

I enjoyed "Gundam 00" a great deal, I liked how it showed the other aspects of the war, the suffering, uncertainty,... animation was also very good. though I'm never too found of apparently impervious Gundams, which the GN Gundams were at the start of the show.

"Macross F" is very entertaining a nice Macross show but the plot hasn't grabbed me yet, nothing as involving or gripping as "Code Geass R2"

I will not deny "Code Geass" (and R2) is hyped and cleverly marketed, that it surely is and I know people who shy away from it for that fact alone. this I believe is a mistake since "Code Geass" is actually very good.
The mecha parts are even one of the less good elements of the series, the animation, soundtrack, characters all top notch.

But the most surprising about "Code Geass" is no doubt the great plot, evolution and character development.
Especially for Lelouch and Suzaku. When have anime series succeeded in rendering characters so well that the morals they have become so realistic? Both Lelouch and Suzaku are very well fleshed out and evolve realistically and surprisingly. They're very grey characters with actual depth, not black and white, but through their actions and choices we see the ambiguous nature not only of their goals and the means they use to achieve them, but also the nature of the world painted in "Code Geass".

Both have noble ideals mixed with lesser intents which they try to achieve according to their own beliefs and the path that fits their capacities best. But along the way they're faced with choices that make them percieved as 'evil' from certain viewpoints and 'good' from others. That's what makes it so very interesting.

So I gather my favorite would be "Code Geass", lol. ^^

The thing I find troubling about Gundam is that you have 10,000+ different shows (Wing, Destiny, Zero.....) and I would find myself compelled to watch them all to make it 'complete'. Gundam 00 really rocked, and it helped out in my studies (pretty unbelievable, huh?)IMO it was a good representation of our current world. For instance, Saji and Louise are the perfect representations of people who really don't care much about what's happening around their surroundings. ( well, maybe Louise only)

I say that so far, I'm more entertained with Macross Frontier than with Code Geass. Especially after Ep 8 of Code Geass. I have no idea where they are going with this, and its a bit frustating. Code Geass R2 has more ups and downs (as in good and so-so episodes) than Macross Frontier, I think.

Well, I'm a big gundam fan, but Gundam 00 was just a poor Gundam Wing.

I mean come one, the way they tried to insert that queen from that middle eastern country, did not work AT ALL.
when louise lost her limbs, I couldn't even take it seriously.
Yes, the animation was cool, the design of the suits was prety original. But that's all you get. Couldn't even remember the plot until I looked it up.(The OPs and EDs were good aswell though)

haven't picked up the new macross, or any other macross, aside from Macross zero, which was so-so.

Now code geass, that's a whole different story.
The plot is original, the animation awesome, and cool characters aswell, and every episode is entertaining, which some anime really lack. I mean, I've gotten so used to ''empty'' Bleach episodes I can spot one before even watching it.

so, my vote goes to code geass, but to season 1.
I'd rather finish R2 before proclaiming anything

And this post made me decide to pick up Macross F. to watch NOW. I mean, how could I give the originator of variable machines (or at least with a major role) a miss?!

@Danny: you should go back to Gundam 00, the first episodes are boring yes, but it goes better after the 2nd OP is showed :D

    I don't really know what to choose ^^;

but Macross F sure entertains me the most ^^ I don't know why. Maybe the compositions are just right, well... although the animation quality is rather bad (the best one is on episode 5).

Gundam 00... don't really like this coz it lacks something although I don't know what it is. I just feel that it is missing something important. Undeniably, the politics and the mecha explanation are very detailed, but I think they have too many characters so they don't have enough time to develop all of them. As a result, the characters only went through a little or no development. Waiting for season 2 too ^^

Geass R2... still not clear for me, but i wonder if the Rebellion will succeed ^^; since it keeps failing. Love to see the conflict between Lelouch's goal and his feelings :D this 2nd season has worse animation quality but better Soundtracks IMO.

Never tried to watch Gundam, I think I'm not into it. Code Geass is the boss, I gave the first season to some of my friends, now they are the firsts to see the episode before me, and try to spoil it. Started to watch Macross 7 a few years ago and didn't enjoy it, so I was kind of reluctant about Macross F, started to watch and its was pretty good, like the story and the music, oh! the music. Still Geass on top, followed by Macross and at the bottom gundam (most people will disagree, people have different tastes). If someone from Portugal gives me good gundam to watch, that will probable change.

I was never really big on Gundams, I do, however, love Code Geass and Macross, but seeing as Macross has a little more history and lore to it, I tend to lean towards it more.

The political intrigue in Code Geass is what gets me interested though, even if emo Lulu does piss me off some of the time.

Macross F for the win. Was a Macross fanboy before will a fanboy until today. I don't regret downloading the whole M7 series, I love the music and Basara's shouting voice, can't get any better than that.

Macross F has everything for the frustrated pilot just like me. Plus the classic "My Boyfriend is a Pilot" song which was revived by Ranka is an EPIK WIN!!! Hands down, she's got the best voice and seiyuu. BUT Sheryls tsundere-ish attitude is cute and I'm slowly falling in love with her every episode. Thought she was a fracking b|tch...her soft side makes me wanna melt.

As for the story, it's good that it has some sort of break from all the fighting and show's the human side of the characters. Animation wise, the quality is on and off, still, the dogfights are the best in the animation business as for this season.

Gundam BALLS just isn't as dramatic as it should have been. Although I appreciate the production teams efforts in trying to stay true to the "War is misery" theme it still didn't grab me. Although I have to admit I was watery eyed when I saw Louise in that mental state in episode 19. Her story was the most interesting of all the stories enclosed. But her lines were stolen from Layla of Kaleido Star.

Setsuna = Sagara Sousuke minus the comedy.

Lock-on = Kurtz Webber minus the ecchi and comedic attitude. (Same seiyuu)

I don't really fancy the character designs in Geass or the mecha design so I dropped it during the first few episodes. But I won't say any bad things about it except for the fact that I don't like the design.

I liked Gundam 00 the best of the three. GREAT story, plot, and characters all in all. For most of the series there is no main bad guy(except at the end) and therefore when everybody's fighting everyone has his/her own reasons and morals that they uphold. That's what is interesting to me. It's a show that shows that although there are different peoples in this world, in the end, everyone just wishes to make it through the day. That's the sappy part. the more serious part is another thing I like. The politics and the real-world connections really amuse me(it is set in the AD timeline anyway). It's not like the politics in Wing where everyone is like "killing is bad" or the annoying teen drama of Seed. When there's some killing that needs to be done, kill, and then the civilians pay. No BS. I like that.
Code Geass for me is exciting. The plot twists are unbelievable and nuts. For that alone I'm sold.
Macross Frontier is FUN to watch. I'm not expecting any smarts or serious plots in here. It's like a break from watching those other more serious two.

I love Geass, but I still choose 00 as my fave mech show. It's far more mature and serious than either Geass or Macross. I love the politics, the realism, and how unique the characters are compared to previous gundam series, not to mention none of them or the gundams are invincible killing machines. It also has THE best battles I've ever seen in any mech show, with no recycled footage and no repeated action sequences. Every battle is different.

Geass sometimes bugs me with the fanservice and teenage situations.

Macross Frontier is... well, good, but so far its just nowhere near as exciting than the other two shows. I don't feel hooked on it yet.

I'll also mention that I loved the originality of 00 compared to every gundam series before it. It felt fresh and it has a fantastic plot which was _finally_ NOT about a war between two factions, something that has been rehashed to death in previous series. I loved how it developed the technology within the series and I loved how it developed the setting in the earlier episodes of the first season. The fact that it takes place in AD timeline made it even more intriguing. The second half was amazing and incredibly exciting. I cannot wait for season 2!

I would say 00, but that show is only on its halfway point and every little revelation was amazing and fun to watch. Same goes for Geass too, though in a more spectacular political fashion.

Macross is the most straightforward of them all, but it still is one of my favorites too.

That's a tricky question -- since I've been following all three.

Code Geass R2 and Macross F also have the advantage that they're still running, and that Gundam 00 is done for now, so evaluating it is in hindsight.

All three were addicting in their own right, but I'll say that Macross F is great -- but could use a little more "need to see the next episode" like Gundam Seed or Code Geass R2.

Still - Gundam 00 was serious most of the time, so for a balance and enjoyable anime - Macross F and Code Geass R2 are my bet.

Although both titles have produced countless sequels, but I find that Macross's sequels(zero and frontier) has been impressing me one after another. In comparison, gundam's sequels (seed and 00) they are getting from bad to worst ranging from design to story plot.

Out of the three, I really love Macross F. Code Geass comes up to a very close 2nd (took me 5 mins of thinking to determine....) Gundam 00 comes in at third.

To me Gundam 00 started out average, but as the series progress, it got WAY more better. Towards the end, I was itching for a fix of more gundam 00 like a crackhead. Then when it ended I cried a little (or got depress) not just because it ended, but because the ending was just shocking. Im just sitting there "OMFG WHY!!!"

Macross F is very good. Very good infact that I started to watch the first series.
Code Geass, I loved it ever since the first series. The action and drama (if you can call it that) got me hooked on it.

like everyone has bee saying, Macross is amazing to begin with and to continue- its all very luscious looking and music which makes the 200mb+ downloads worth it

haven't really been following CGR2 as it got licensed fairly damn quickly and out of all three the CG characters look the most 'emo' ad in thin guys and girls wearing tight looking clothes to advertise they're bones

as for Gundamm 00 I'm really religious about Gundam and have followed it since in aired and it does just get better and better. it goes from a Gundam-Wing-wtf-destroy-it-all opening to an epic battle of everyone against the protagonist, especially the final episode- it truly showed how a story would end as if it was a movie and the storyline as it progresses it just grips people. it really is good.

So far the best one in my opinion is macross frontier, I finished gundam 00 and i think it was good, the other one I don't see much of a case, is like many other robot anime, macross frontier have so many good things the plot, the mecha battle, the character design, I feel like mr. Shōji Kawamori is returning to basics, and the yoko kano song are amazing sooooo good synchronized with the action... (T. T; ) < tears of joy...

ok 1st off, i refuse to vote for this one instead i'll give my 10yen worth...
    1: gundam 00...
the series is kinda boring at the 1st 18 eps but after that things really start to pick up at a really fast pace...kinda amazed at the fact that so much of the remaining story was so well placed in the last few eps and got the ball rolling...
pros: nice artwork, great story, awesome OP and Ed song, great character development...
cons: the overly long "foundation" laying put of a lot of people from really continuing this series, even though the story was well placed close towards the end it did felt a bit rushed putting one shocking moment after another back to back...
    overall i give it a 3.7/5
    2: macross f...
even though its still on air in japan i've seen the 1st 6 eps and i have to say i'm really impressed...the new Valkyrie designs are just stunning and the key point is the transformation part which is mind blowing... looking far more realistic then its previous designs this new generation of valkyries are simply awesome...the characters are flowing well with each other and the story is moving somewhere...
pros: awesome new mech design, detailed choreographing, well placed action and slow going scenes getting the mood to be just right...
cons: even though the artwork and design and choreography of the new valkyries plus their transforming scenes are awesome they move too fast and its really hard to get a good view of the planes in all 3 forms, seems like too much effort is put into the all their mech and tech artwork that the art for the main characters seems kinda neglected...the main characters can look better if more effort was placed into them...
overall macross f looks promising and i'm anticipating more so for macross f i give it 3.865/5
    3: code geass r2...
ok i've only caught a few eps but so far i'm liking what i'm seeing...it still offers the same or even better storyline then the 1st season and the way our hero lulu handles the near impossible situations are still just as amazing...
the way the action is placed so close towards the beginning of the anime makes it feel right after the last eps of the 1st season with the touch of the past to recap what happened in the last season for old viewers and it lets the new viewers feel like they are not totally left out in the dark...
pros: still has the very intelligent story and dialog tat was the main point in the 1st season, delivering the very story that old viewers have been waiting so long for with no disappointment...
cons: lacking the same quality of the 1st season in terms of artwork, characters don't look as beautiful, background lacks certain major details, and the mech designs are still looking rather chunky...
overall its looking like this anime will not disappoint me so i give it a 4.01/5

well thats my 10yen worth of nonsense babbling about the 3 major mech animes out currently (well 2 of them currently, 1 is put on hold...)

I absolutely love Code Geass, after watching season 1 I've been counting the days till season 2 got kicked off. The nonstop cliffhangers at every episode, the dialogues, fan-service (Kallen/C.C. <3) and art (CLAMP is awesome.) I can honestly say this is my favorite anime I've seen ever.

In my opinion Code Geass was the most entertaining anime; I simply loved lelouch, the women, and the character conflict. Gundam 00 wasen't the best gundam series that ever came out, but overall it was good at the very end. Macross Frontier has currently in 2008 the most realistic artwork that you are ever going to find, has pretty good story thats brewing up, and Sheryl makes the show alot more interesting.

I dropped Gundam 00 straight right after 1-2 episode, all because of some Wing-SEED kind of stints in the show. Those meisters are actually playing the enemy role from the beginning to end after the world finally united and declare war on the Gundam boys. The designs are terrible and appeared to be cheap rip-offs from other sources like FrontMission and Virtual-On, which does not show originality. What more, the GN Arms modules are no doubt copycat versions of the 0083 Orchis and SEED METEOR(also 0083 copycat) Animation wise, I hate the long conversations where words are more than actions, who the hell wants to listen to their selfish thoughts? Man, if that's the case, then Sunrise should start a church give out sermons.

Geass has a terrible season finale last year, but R2 sort of clear things up and so far, the story carries out pretty fine. Knightmares are one of the worst mecha designs I've seen but Lelouch is actually the main attraction in anime. It's just seems that there are too many weakpoints in the story like moving city walls, undersea liquid carbon dioxide, easy-to-access securities etc things that turn the table around in times of desperations. Still, it's quite worthy for my watch than the mediocre Gundam 00.

Macross Frontier is no doubt the latest in celebrating the 25th anniversary of Macross, looks to me, Shoji Kawamori has been saving this for 2007-08. The new VF-25 Messiah somehow shares some similiarities with the VF-5000 StarMirage but the FAST pack sort of distinctively 25's. In addition with the some old comebacks like the VB Koenig Monster and most important of all, the all new Macross Quarter battleship. Each episodes are quite enjoyable although the rich detailed backgrounds makes up for the boring boy-meets-girl and pantsu stealing scenes. Usage of 3D animation on mecha battle scenes are spectacular if you may excuse Alto's poor piloting skills. Sheryl's concert is nearly as good as Sharon Apple's and the musics are good with Yoko Kanno's role as composer. Put it all together, I will say Macross Frontier is a Win-Win product.

You can tell most viewers have a biased since they either watched only 1 or have only seen very little of the others.

I've watched all three animes including all these previous series.

For me, Gundam has always been ahead of Macross because it has so many series and a much longer history. I've always have a soft spot for Macross, it's a good alternative of Gundam.

Code Geass is possibly the best new anime creation since Death Note.

For this season, I have to say it is Code Geass R2. Followed by Macross Frontier and 00 Gundam.

Code Geass R2 has the best voice acting, animation and artwork quality is the best of all 3. It combines the best plot, story, interesting mecha designs, and excellent cliff hangers.

Macross F, the lead voice seiyuus have not been that impressive. Ranka at times is very poor at showing her emotions. Altoh is probably the worst lead male seiyuu of the 3 series. The mecha designs are cool but heavily borrowed from Gundam, since they are designed by Gundam mecha designers. :) The plot hasn't been great, but some pretty cool 3D animation, and Sheryl is just so sexy.

As for Gundam 00, I think they've brought back a lot of Gundam Wing elements but fall short on the story building. It shouldn't take 10 eps for the real plot to show itself.

Gundam 00 was the only anime out of those three that I truly enjoyed and loved. It's got a mature theme, great mecha design (as opposed to the IMO ugly mecha in Code Geass), and a great csat of characters that are enjoyable to watch. I actually like the first 10 episodes, its far more realisitc than most anime - even the older Gundams were. Beats Wing be far imo.

Code Geass is overrated IMO. Sure the plot twists may be enjoyable, but tat doesn't make up for 2-dimensional characters like Lelouch. Everything about him is pretty much "Nunnally" or "This is revenge". He's not a very realistic chracter at all. Fanservice and pointless "filler" episodes don't help the story either, when it already relies heavily on conincidences.
They keep introducing new characters and the main characters always just seem to have something unfortunate that happens to stop them making peace. Once is okay, but Geass has done it once too many. That said, Code Geass isn't a terrible series, I'd still give it about 8/10, but I just don't see why millions and millions of people scream about how good at is with 10/10 score =_=. I'd say watch it for sure, but don't expect too much serious or believable plot.
Macross Frontier started out awesome, but my interest started to ebb away after episode 9 and I haven't seen many episodes since. The plot is also not too intersting to be honest and the its really annoying to have every single battle filled with pop music. Doing it once or twice is great, but after about 10 times its really lost its impact and starts to get plain anoying, since a serious soundtrack would really convey the seriousness of war a lot better. But I do like it (or at least UNTIL the crappiness of episode 8) and plan to follow it once my exams are over.

So overall Gundam 00 > Code Geass (R1 and R2) > Macross Frontier (up till ep 9)

I'm a big Macross fan but the way they set up the initial two episodes (edgy,gritty.. UNS losing bigtime, the harshest macross pilot fatality ever seen in the anime) ONLY to go down the path of a (shitty) high-school drama afterwards ? Wait what ?

The only mecha anime that combines high-school + comedy flawlessly with great action and still remain edgy is Full metal panic. Period.

I do love Code Geass tough, a bit cheesy like Gundam 00 in battles but the plot and interaction makes up for it all. And the ending to the final season ? was just wow !
