Xbox360がPS3を抜く

I love my 360. There are tons of excellent games for it, and though it lacks sony-exclusive franchises like Tekken and MGS, a lot of my other favourite franchises are coming to the 360 as exclusives (katamari for instance), and you get games like bioshock, gears of war and halo that make up for it. Plus, the achievement system is the best innovation in gaming for a long time. It gives you a great reason for persisting with hard games and prolonging their lifespan loads.

I dont think everyone should get their hopes up for the 360 in japan though - it only sold extremely well that week because Ace combat 6 came out, and the Idolm@ster was re-released on budget.
I really dont see why Japan are so reluctant to adopt the 360 - theyre missing out on some amazing games, although the majority of them are shooting games :-/

just wait, the PS3 isn't focusing on beating anyone yet. as games come out it will be more obvious who will reign the console wars.

In here online game "fever" makes some console game shop broke down ^^ Everybody feels they doesn't need to buy a console anymore (console = more money) to get the excitement of playing games. Online game experience is better for me and addicting too ^^ for me I'm still pretty excite when I still can play WE or PES with my friends on PS2, and I believe my friend feels the same ^^

Well, I have a PS3 and only have a handful of games as well for the system. But, the only good point for me is that I never had a PSOne or PS2, so the older games keep me occupied :). As for the XBox360, the red ring of death keeps me away, but I would like to get one just to finish out the Halo series. I just need to figure out how to determine which XBox360 has the 65nm CPU :).

MGS: Guns of the patriots is being released for the 360 after the launch for the PS3 (possible how long it takes for substance to be released).

In the USA, both the 360 and the Wii are beating Playstation in sales. Not to mention the Wii is still sold out, although its been a year since its release. In all honesty I've been a Playstation fan since the PS1 (Only because it was cheap and I enjoyed most of the games on it), but the PS3 is over priced and I dislike how Sony tried to shove Blue-Ray down my throat by not selling a console without the feature.

I'm happy for a few things that have happened to Playstation:

1. They're making the least money out of all the gaming consoles.

2. That HD has beat Blue-ray in the Media War of 2007.

3. That all the games that I wanted to play for the PS3 are coming over for the 360.

I love you Playstation, but I think its time to part ways. Its just not working out...

for me its all about the wii at the moment. i don't plan on buying a ps3 right now because of the lack of rumble and exploits as i don't want to spend 70 bucks on every game i get. however, i do have high hopes for ps3 as a lot of my fav franchises are sony exclusive, just gotta wait for them to make some better games first. by the way, you guys should watch this

I'm a bit surprised that the 360 is now selling better, I always though the PS series would rule in Japan. But I guess those in Japan are looking for cheaper and more convenient substitutes like the 360 and Wii. I personally don't own any next gen systems, except a DS. But I am leaning towards getting a Wii. If I had to choose between the PS3 and 360, I would go with the PS3; but only if it has backwards compatibility.

Well, I reckon that marketing strategy is what keeping the PS3 down. I mean look at Microsoft support for the 360. Scary ^^.

I have a PS3 and a Wii, but no 360. My fiancee really enjoys the Wii. I think that is true for most who are not really into games. There are many games for the PS I don't have so I'm happy for now.

I think here the PS3 is still outselling the 360, but probably not by much. PS3 vs 360 is a little like Mac vs Windows here. That is my take on it...

Actually, it depends on the PS3 model. i believe you don't have backwards compatibility in the 40GB model. and believe it or not, the backwards compatibility of ps3 is actually better than the xbox 360. and in terms of the actual consoles, each one is targeted at a different audience group, casual gamers may enjoy the 360 and wii more than the ps3.

I still prefer PS 3... it's better in the long run.

I remember reading that the 60gig was backwards compatible. I don't know if the 80gig was as-well, but I wouldn't see why not...

Well, as for PS3 backward compatability. It depends, the 60 gb in certain countries like the US are fully backward compatible because of the EE chip. The 80 GB version is software emulation backwards compatability which is like 80% compatible with all games and the 40 GB has no backward compatibility with fewer features more tailored for cutting costs and locking it to the newer PS3 games. Picture the 40 GB version as the low end model of a car :).

I have seen this news post all over the xbox sites and game reviews sites. What you won't find on those xbox sites though, is the fact that there is a new line up of PS2s coming out, and Sony is got something extra planned for the PS3. It's just a sucker punch from the fanboys.

How can Danny be anti-ps3 if he himself owns one? and for the record, he's just stating facts and not actually putting the console down, nor is he promoting the 360 for that matter. i think you went and jumped to conclusions too soon. by the way, its very hard to imagine that mgs4 will stay exclusive after launch, the development cost is way too high for it to remain on one console, theres a 99% chance of it being ported to the 360 after a year or two.

Hideo Kojima wants to release MGS4 on the Wii. He stated that he wants to play with the Wii's control system. Although, I believe it will be a bit too complicated, but we'll see.

If MGS4 gets into bed with the Wii, I don't see why it wouldn't cheat with the 360 as well. Hideo Kojima wants top make a video game that everyone could enjoy, and I don't think he's limiting himself to one console this time (seeing as how its the end of the story).

i own a 360 but i do want a ps3 hopefully soon. i was amazed by the 360 selling more in japan for once. its an achievement thanks to ace combat for microsoft in japan. although all consoles have great games. Halo, MGS, God of War, Tekken and DOA are just a few. i just like all of em. :P

If you are doing anything memory intensive like multitasking, running VMs, etc, having more memory is beneficial. Windows itself is a memory hog :).

I completely agree with AndyH. I love my 360. It's everything I could want in a gaming system. I don't really care if the 360 does well in Japan or not, as long as I get Japanese games on my 360. So far it looks like developers are seeing the potential the 360 has and they're putting games out even with the low sales. Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata, Beautiful Katamari, Lost Odyssey, Ninja Gaiden 2, ect. It's funny how everybody's so concerned with how well the 360 does in Japan, but the Japanese that own one seem to be happy enough with it. You can tell because they rule the leaderboards in games like Beautiful Katamari. While that's definitely a Japanese type of game, when you look at their gamercards they also play games like Rainbow Six: Vegas and even Halo 3. Most of the time they will have the full 1000 achievement points(or close to it) for whatever they play. I try, but even I'm not that crazy.

Either way I don't have any hate towards the PS3. I'll get one eventually but right now it's not worth the investment in my opinion.

Well own neither, prefer my PC as it has a lot more uses. Anyway I wouldn't touch a PS3 at the price they are asking. Also there is little in the way of good games out currently.

I'm glad to hear the 360 is beating the PS3 on its home turf. Microsoft has been working pretty hard to get 360 exclusive content that appeals to the Japanese market and while they have several RPGs out I don't think they PS3 has any to speak of besides the FF in the works.

I found it quite surprising that a "sleeper hit" like Ace combat would do what much more hyped games like blue dragon failed to do, Get Japanese ppl interested in a 360. Shame that it almost certainly won't last. Generally speaking, the 360 usually sells less than half the number of PS3s and those numbers will probably fall back to those levels in a week or so.

but what really annoys me is how the marketplace of Xbox live in japan is so much cheaper than the US or european ones T_T. some items are free in japan, but we have to pay for them in the west...

I have both a 360 and a PS3 and I do tend to play on the 360 a little more, but there are no games which have piqued my interest for the 360 in the near future. If they are multiformat, I will go for the PS3 version due to the pad being more comfortable (unless it's a FPS, in which case it will be the 360 version).

Yeah I have a PSP and PS3, I also have a 360, and a gamecube. I kind of regret the ps3, dont get me wrong it's a ballin' hd movie machine but i havent really been all that attached to it. in terms of games, like my psp, it just sits there. More than anything, i play on my 360. I am a mac saint, but in all honesty if I could only keep one console between the ps3 and 360 it would be the 360. Hell, I play my ps2/psp game games more than my ps3 games. I even think I play more games on my mac than my ps3. I wish i had ds, that would be pretty coolsome, sorry sony.

Okay first of all, Both ps3 and xbox360 consoles are great, I own both and enjoy both. To me, Ps3 would be the console i would choose over 360. Sure 360 has quite a lot of games, but all they have is just shooters and same generic type of FPS.

Ps3 infact, have many games comming out for many different genres, 2008 will be the year of ps3.

PS3 is becomming more cheaper now, you can find a ps3 bundle 40gb for $399 and 80gb for just $100 more. So don't say crap like $600 consoles anymore because that price has been long gone now.

First, stop with the $600 console crap, its hardly $600 anymore and they have 40gb ps3 selling for $399 and 80gb for $499.

Also about rumble, yeah okay sixaxis doesn't have rumble, unless if you were living under a rock, e3 2007 they announced dual shock 3 that has sixaxis + rumble which is releasing in japan THIS MONTH, and in US during the following year.

People say ps3 has no games, like seriously wtf? ps3 has come out for a year now and you expect it to have such massive line of titles this early? Seriously PS3 console is complex piece of hardware, okay? I own both ps3 and 360, im tired of 360 having such one specific GENERIC list of games which is basically all shooters. Plus the graphics side isn't even that great, a lot of the best looking 360 game out there has a lot of studdering and frame rate drops which is annoying DESPITE THE FACT THAT DEVELOPERS SAID 360 WAS easy to develop for.

Also for MGS4, don't say crap like it is comming to the wii and the 360, it has been DEBUNKED by Ryan who is the producer of MGS4 project in an video interview. He specifically said "The only way to play mgs4 EVER is on the ps3 console", take note he is the PRODUCER.

I have to say that playing on the 360 is a lot of fun, and the games, even the simple ones, are very entertaining. The 360 is blowing the POS3 out of the water over here, especially with Halo 3 out. The Wii looks like a lot more fun though.

As much as I dislike Microsoft, if I am to buy a console today, it would be an XBox 360. They have some pretty decent titles and the price is acceptable for the technology you get. PS3 is just too expensive.

The value is really in the new $400.00 PS3, I plan to purchase that for the Xmas holiday. Blueray player plus 1080p . I guess it's only a value if you have a large HD screen like myself. I think PS3 will win out in the end with better technology and hence better games. I hear Ratchet & Clank for PS3 is like being in a Pixar film! PS3 FTW!!!

It has been said by Kojima in an interview with 1UP that MGS4 could easily run on the X-box 360 as it could run on any computer related hardware. The only difference would be resolution.

And here is a quote to follow it up:

"So yes. Metal Gear Solid 4 could work on Xbox 360 ("maybe some nuance or a small detail here and there might be different") and the reason for that, apparently is that "there are really no differences" between the PS3, 360 and PC, although obviously Revolution is "totally different."

I have a DVD player in my room, along with my PS2. Why? Because playstation doesn't play some DVDs (mostly imports).

I will agree 360 aims more for FPS's. I'll get a PS3 when they take off the Blue ray and it drops to $300. Cause I don't agree with a company that down grades their system just so that they could promote their new product.

I am not too surprised. I played both Xbox360 and PS3, and PS3 graphics isn't that great. even on a 42inch HD LCD TV, a lot parts looks edgy, almost hurts my eyes.

I don't own either system but if the 360 is beating the PS3 in Japan Sony better stop screwing around. I'd hate for them to go the way of Sega, as the Wii doesn't make all that many games I care to play and I'm not buying a 360. There are a handful of games I want to play for the PS3...Heavenly Sword, Gundam Musou, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Enchanted Arms...and there are a lot more coming out that I want to get but considering *every* PS3 owner (not just me and my friends, hehe) has to be a very hardcore gamer for Sony to make a profit it seems pretty counterproductive to have so few high-quality games out.

This is only for one week, so this is just sensationalism. This has happened in the past with several other games like Blue Dragon and Halo 3.

The PS3 will be on top again, not to mention the total sales don't even compare. According to VGChartz.com the 360 has sold 0.46M units while the PS3 pulls ahead at 1.27M (in Japan).

It's surprising to see that the PSP, being bashed all over as a failure, sits comfortably in second place (26M) right behind the DS (55M).

It's a miracle that the 360 has outsold the PS3 in Japan. I blame Sony's lack of exclusive titles. The only thing they have going for them at this point is FF13 and Metal Gear. To bad FF13 is a long time away. And Metal Gear was just delayed again.

As for Devil May Cry, sure that would have been a great app, but it's not PS3 exclusive anymore. It's going to be coming out on the 360 as well. Plus games like GTA4 are going to have downloadable content on the 360. In my opinion the 360 is by far the superior platform. My only real complaint about the 360 is that there is no good RPG for the system yet.

On a side note... my latest addiction= Guitar Hero 3.

Ace Combat was always a big franchise for playstation and now this is what happens when they lose an exclusive. It's going to be even more tough for PS3 to gain some ground if FF13 goes multi-platform. If it does, MGS4 is not enough to save the ps3 -__- They are just losing exclusives that made the playstation left and right. "What the hell are you doing Sony????"

I wonder how the people in Japan will (or have) react when their 360 gets a RRoD. Not to add fuel to flame, but it seems a lot of people neglect the brighter side of things. The Wii doesn't play dvds and some people complain about it. The PS3 has blu-ray yet people complain about it instead of telling themselves they won't have to go buy a BD standalone in the future. Let alone, inclusion of BD opens the opportunity for new ideas in the gaming development industry as long as developers take advantage of it. Heck, people and developers complained when the 360 Core didn't have a harddrive. If you're complaining that the 40gig doesn't have BC, then well the Core 360 doesn't either unless you're willing to fork over $100 some for MS-branded overpriced hd-addon for 14gigs of free space (i'm talking about 360's beginnings).
I say give this war a rest and enjoy all the systems for what they have. Sure Halo3's great and Mass Effect will be awesome, but throw ignorance away and enjoy yourself some PS3 too. Heavenly Sword wasn't that great, but R&C and Uncharted are visual delights and they're frankly hilarious. It'll take you away from the monotonous fps (though I must say COD4 is better than Halo3 imo). And lastly, most of the awesome games like Assasin's Creed and GH3 are multi-platform so PS3 gets them too. IT definitely has games. And some form of DLC.

Don't get me wrong, I like my PSWii60. The 360 is my American RPG & FPS console. The PS3 is my other-genre console. I'm tired of Sony getting all the bashing since afterall, I'd say they're the ones that opened up a new era of gaming for us today.

I recently got my 60GB PS3, call me crazy but I chose PS3 over X360 cause its black ^^ The xbox reminds me of iPod. Also "Playstation" sounds cooler than "xbox"

So far I am pretty happy with it, the games from the PSN store are great. While the system has some neat features, SONY NEEDS TO REALISE and Focus that people want to play games and they need to deliver it fast, they need to get more exclusive deals.

Some complain the graphics on PS3 suck thats because Devs are still learning the Hardware, it not easy to programs shaders, AI and all that, couple that with some devs like CAPCOM doing multi-platform the complexity increases.

I do hope PS3 will be around for years and when the price is right more people will buy. Looking forward to Trusty Bell and Senjou no Valkyrie.

ACE COMBAT is rumored to come back to PS3 but that may be after a year?

Here's the thing: Its all about being able to play the games you wanna play. Right now, 360 has a extensive library of great games, so its not surprising they're selling well. Undoubtedly PS3 will eventually have a great library as well, but nobody will argue its taking them longer to give gamers the games they want. I enjoyed playing Bioshock on 360 just as I am currently enjoying Ratchet & Clank on PS3. In a few days, I'm looking forward to Mario on Wii. Each console is great and serves its purpose, but there lies the dilemma. Everyone want to play the games, but not everyone can afford the hefty price tag of these machines. Therefore you buy what system you can afford and/or has more games you want to play. So until PS3 puts out those games I want to play I won't be harping on it as I'll be playing another game on another system till then. No discrimination from me.

I'm for the PS3, because the list of games for the PS3 look a better than the 360's. Only thing is that 70% of that list has not been released yet.

I'll wait until more games are released and the price drops even more to get my PS3.

I onli got PS3! I wanted a Xbox 360 but it was never official launch here in Malaysia, although it was the same case with PS3 but PS3 nvr had so much hardware problem like xbox 360 legendary 3ROD!

Of course its failing, those taiwanese haven't been able to crack PS3 to play pirated software yet~. On a serious note, I see no reason to buy PS3 yet, simply because the games available are not satisfying, it's still PC>PSX>Nintendo>Xbox for me.

Never did care much for the suXbox... I mean Xbox. The only game I wanted to play on that system was the Dead or Alive franchise. Other than that there aren't any other games that I'd want to play on it. I heard Blue Dragon was a bit of a bust here.

I didn't even plan to get PS3, but a friend was selling half price, so ding! I picked it up. Glad to finally play LocoRoco on it ^_^

Personal opinion is goes like this:

X-Box 360: Will probably never buy, because I already have a good gaming PC. Few exclusive titles are not worth it, I like playing fps games with keyboard+mouse, and the last thing I want is to go through a RROD experience. Or RAGROD (Red and Green Ring of Death).
It's not a bad console, but Microsoft is making a huge mistake not confronting agressively and quickly those problems.
I guess that's why people won't buy it. I don't feel safe buying one, nor I ever will with the constant and recurring heating problems. Few cases would be ok, but it's 33,3% and I'm not specially lucky with console problems.

Playstation 3: It's the one I'm more likely to buy. Problem is: few titles, far too expensive to have few titles, and I couldn't care less about Blu-ray and Blu-ray movies.
But I loved the trailers on Little Big Planet and some other games.
Still not enough for me to spend that much on a console... but the one that comes closer to convince me.

Nintendo Wii: While I do love gaming with friends, and I don't really care about OMFG realistic graphics, Wii didn't convince me yet.
Reason is: I bought a GameCube, and it became a dust collector.
The minigames and even normal games are nice, but I got bored with them too fast.
Even the major titles. It's a personal opinion, but I'm just tired of Mario titles and Zelda titles... I have to force myself to play them lately, it's not that fun anymore.
And 3rd party games are not something I really expect from Nintendo.
Of course it's great for Nintendo fans, but for people who are tired of the same thing over and over again, it's kind of a dead end.

For now, I think it's best to use the money to buy PC games I like. I'm doing that, and not regreting a bit. But maybe, and just maybe, next year the situation changes.

Can't count this one. Rein has already stated they will be making the game port for the 360, but the PS3 gets 6 months ahead of time, plus they want to work out the buisness problems with the 360's live content scheme. But he has stated more then once that they fully plan on releasing it for the 360. Plus um... theres already a PC demo out, so it can't be a PS3 exclusive-

dead rising, lost planet, and bla bla blah game make me buy X360.

I don't have a 360 and I don't have a PS3 either. But I do have the Wii. Which is at this moment more fun I guess. I am going to buy one of them and I am leaning a bit more to the PS3.

I'd prefer gaming on the PC, but if I would get a next gen console in the future, XBOX360 tops my list.

I own both! but as my 360 crashes every time i turn it on within 10-20mins without fail i just don't go near it anymore. PS3 all the way baby!!
I did get alot of fun from the 360 though Saints Row, Dead Rising, Top Spin 2, GRAW, Test Drive Unlimited and so on. Just the frustration of having to constantly reset and reload a game and the incessant whining its so LOUD!

At the beginning i was a sony oriented gamer geek. seriously, I thought that only the PlayStation was the console worth to buy. But i have to confess i was wrong, Xbox 360 is on the lead and is going better and better. Games for the big X are coming out like a storm, and for the PS3? NOT AT ALL. An example? Even Virtua fighter, alaways a shiny diamond for playstation's owners is better on the Xbox, with online function that ps3 has not!!!

Maybe the Xbox is a big noisy pice of plastic but it has lot to give you...

i don't own any consoles. my loyalty remains with PC gaming. furthermore a computer can do so much more.

Well, Gundam modding's starting to provide alot of fun for me recently. Other than that I'd be willing to get a Wii or a PS3 instead (Nights for Wii, now thats a classic :D and MGS4 for PS3).

A price drop doesn't help the fact that the first party (and some third party) games coming out are still mediocre. They said that they were going to try and make there games more fun, they're not. Heavenly Sword sucked, Ratchet and Clank was disappointing (not bad, just not as good)... The only decent game I think they've had so far is Resistance. But maybe that's just state-side. Who knows. In all seriousness though, 360 is where it's at I think. I think Lost Odyssey is going to be amazing. That and Fable 2, let's not forget. :D

Calintz: Lol, well put! That was pretty true and funny, I think what it is is that i WANT fable 2 to be amazing. I should be with all the time they are taking on it... shouldn't it? Never the less, Lost Odessey, Mass Effect, and NINJA GAIDEN 2! are going to be amazing. I think what the PS3 is really banking on right now is MSG3, but remember how great Lair seemed, that was a flop.

Waiting till I have money for a Ps3 (holidays coming up, gotta buy gifts) and possibly a Wii later (smash bro's online anyone?).
The 360 market is strong in the US and growing despite the apparent "Red Ring/Light of Death" which apparently is costing Microsoft billions to fix.
The only reason I would get a 360 is because all my friends have it and it would be nice (and easy) to play a few games with them.
I would like to have all 3 but being a college student sorta stomps on that dream.

Neither. Though a PS3 is tempting, Sony's stubborn refusal to lower the price in the UK (value pack, my ar*e) has put me right off buying one. Besides, I usually refuse to buy any single item over £190. The only thing that could persuade me otherwise is Metal Gear Solid 4.

Playing guitar heroes III now

Currently don't own any of the current gen consoles, but first on my list for the holiday season is the PS3, Wii following. I want it mostly because it's an affordable Blu-ray movie player. Plus, some of the games that are due to come out like LittleBigPlanet make me want to own this console even more.

It's killing me to wait until the holiday season, but I'm short on cash so I must :(

Got a PS3 recently and loving it. Probably getting a Wii next for the family. 360, not until there's a big guarantee that it doesn't go in RRoD mode. Besides, the current line up of games for the 360 doesn't really suit my taste. And I do wish sony and other third party game developers come out with new games soon. Only games I love on the PS3 as of the moment are Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Warhawk. Haven't got CoD4 yet. heheh! :)

In the long run though I think either the Wii or the PS3 will win the current generation with the 360 falling not too far behind.

I have both a PS3 and 360 and really don't use the PS3 that much. I've owned two games so far, Resistance (which I traded back) and Ninja Gaiden which I still have. I probably have played about 40-50 360 titles and own about 10-15 now. Overall the 360 sells much better here...but maybe when I get Ratchet and Clank I'll play the PS3 more.

Initially my brother and I purchased the 360, not only for Gears of War (^^) but because of the price. Over time I pretty much grew out of console games and sold him my half. Now that the PS3 is evenly priced with the Xbox, I'm having second thoughts! I don't know anyone with a PS3, but I'm sure I'll start hearing more about it with the price cut. May sound weird but I hope Sony doesn't lose too much money from the drop, it's good to have multiple companies competing..it gives us more games and options.

I currently have a Wii and I really like it.
Some times I've actually thought about getting a PS3...mainly for MGS and FF but I rather not. I don't really play consoles a lot now. I would never get an Xbox though, not really interested in any games for it.

Wii DS and PSP for me. Barely touch them for games. My brother is getting a 360 tho.

i would never recomend anyone buying a 360 and would probably never going to buy it ever again.... as soon as the year waranty went out it breaks down ... it seems that aside form me alot of my mates experience the same problem as well.. seems more like all of my frens... it cost around 70 quid to fix it which is just simply crazy.....

sadly to say.. 360 is really winning over quite a lot of company.. sony really need to buck up with their strategy right now..
