    Hey Danny, is it me or this is a typo? "magazines in plastic of tie them up with string."

    I see people doing this in local bookstores sometimes. The annoying thing is when kids sit down in the aisles at borders with huge stacks of manga reading and blocking the manga section off from anyone that wants to get in. I can't stand that.

    Danny can you activate my account for featured feeds. Hopefully I get your attention this time.

    i've certainly seen this at bookstores, but not at convenience or anime stores. the shopkeepers would give you weird glances

    Funny you should post this Danny as it is one of the things I found funny while visiting Japan. But not because ppl stand around reading mags. We actually have ppl here do that here at bookstores. Rather that groups of guys would stand around looking at dirty magazines without a care in the world. Everytime I head to 7-11 to grab my daily dose of Calpis Water there would be guys drooling over mosaic censored porn. Thank heaven for 7-11?

    Bookstores are alright if you want to do a bit. Some even have tables and chairs where you can drink coffee while reading. Reading magazines seems a bit awkward if someone is watching you, so I guess it depends on the situation. I usually just skim through to see if it is worth buying.

    One popular option here in the US is to buy subscriptions and have them delivered by post. You can get tons of magazines for like 80-90% of cover price, which can save you a bundle if you are interested in any specific magazines. In any case, I would feel a bit uncomfortable reading any interesting (naughty) magazines tachiyoma-wise.

    I've done it a lot (litterly every week) until a few years ago when a book store owner (I knew that man for years) suddenly send me away very rudely. Never came back to that store, but now that the store has a new owner I go back once in a while (but that's also because I read most new things online ^^).

    yes i browse through magazines at the bookstore once every month.

    most convenient stores wrap up the magazines in plastic as well here so i usually do my tachiyomi at either borders or 紀伊國屋書店 (books kinokuniya), a japanese bookstore chain. it's the biggest bookstore in singapore. ('~')

    Whenever I go to Kinokuniya I see a whole row of readers in front of the licensed graphic novels section, sometimes it's hard to go through ^^;;
    But otherwise you rarely see people reading magazine or books, I know none of my friends like to read, period (I'm the complete opposite, I'd read almost anything).

    The book stores here shrink wrap everything. Then pricks come along and unwrap whatever they want and read it anyway. Worse part is, they don't handle the books well, leaving them in tatters.

    bookstores here allows tachiyomi but it gets annoying when some people accidentally tears a part of the magazine or much worse intentionally tear the whole page apart >
