For those who ever wondered where FooBarBaz keeps his figure collection - more pics of the shelves he's been buying at his burogu. Each unit of shelves costs 19,800 yen from Rakuten and come complete with earthquake safety poles which prevent the shelf and precious collection from falling over and going poof.

He's also got one of these too.
The lights he fitted were bought seperately and he talks about how he done those.

    Those LED bars make me happy, I think they sell those types at Ikea here in the states. I've been meaning to get more shelves for my figures, I've had a PVC female population explosion as of late. ^^;

    Nice! Those dispay cases look excellent! Didn't know earthquake-proof cases exist. I think I saw those LED bars one time at Ikea here too. I really, really need to buy a decent display case soon, cause it's a pity to keep everything boxed... :-(

      You can buy similar shelves anywhere, just look for commercial furniture outlets, not retail.
      Now, don't expect IKEA prices. If you look at his setup above it is close to 1000$ USD.
      And I'm sure that does not include any lighting options yet.

      Just buy any IKEA bookcase. Get the proper glass doors, shelves and lighting for them and you're done. It shouldn't be too expensive, I think it depends mostly on the size of the glass doors.

    I'm pretty happy displaying mine on my bookcase, I don't like the glare you often get with cabinet glass and also they are always so big. Still they do look nice, when I have my own house I might get a cabinet if I found one I like, I'll most likely get my man to put up lots of shelves instead though XD

    Very nice, and not too expensive for what you get.

    But won't be able to order those... would be too expensive doing so... and unfortunately, I also don't have the space to put them.

    But I can't complain about my current display... came with the apartment (rented), and I think it was for drinks or something... it's very display-ish and also has lights on top:

    i actually have wondered what his setup was like ^^ I like the idea of those led lights (also makes sense since they won't heat up like regular bulbs) but at least in the pics it looks sort of bluish... gives the case a kind of cold feeling to me ^^;;

    That mirrored case looks damn nice but must cost a ton! didn't read carefully so not sure if it was the same case but one of the commenters was throwing around some prices - 6800 (bare bones) - 130000 (w/accessories) yen!

    The LEDs are too focus for a display like this. You can almost see one shadow per LED on the figure. However, they don't radiate heat and don't burn your precious figures :)
    Also, the display is a bit narrow for larger items. A 1/100 gunpla probably won't fit without looking cramped.

    Woah!... That is the perfect shelf I've been trying to find for my figures, but here in Chile is almost impossible to get it ¬¬ ...
    But I'm not gonna give up ^^.

    I'm using 3 Ikea Detolf shelves for my collection now. The only problem is the figures on the bottom shelves don't get to be seen often :(
