Electricity in Japan

A demonstration of about 50 people took place in Akiba yesterday entitled Everybodies Energy Demonstration Volume 2 in Akihabara.

The message they wanted to get across were:-

- stop the price increase for electricity
- get rid of nuclear energy
- lets use natural energy and viva life

Looks like it was a peaceful demonstration which was organized with the police just like the Akihabara Liberation Demo, and just like the previos demo, there were a handful of cosplayers this time round too.

One of the interesting messages that some of the participants were saying is "Electricity is so expensive that I cant enjoy eroge anymore!"

As for the cost of electricity - we pay between 6,000 yen and 12,000 yen depending on the season. Seasons which require heavy use of the air conditioner cost more. Not sure what its like in your region but air conditioners over here come with heating abilities and is just one of the methods used to heat up the apartment/house.
We do have an electric gas heater too though which is cheaper to run.
