Tomy and Sanyo got together to develop the worlds smallest robot (according to the Guiness Book O Records).
AkihabaraNews went along to the press announcement to see what the fuss was all about.

The i-sobot comes with 17 servo-engines and can be programmed to do useful things like walk into a figure shop/walk out with figure without paying.
The little blighter can also recognize up to ten voice commands like "lie down you little git", "stand up you turd" etc.
The i-sobot will retail for 30,000 yen. You can see the i-sobot in action in some exclusive AkihabaraNews footage.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.

This should be a fantastic Educational/Plaything. It would've been on my wish list if it weren't that expensive.

I wonder how they would fare as little spies.

Always the crazy sense of humor, Danny. :)
"lie down you little git", "stand up you turd"... The day they get conscience of the way some consider them and don't take it well, I believe I'd have to pray for some souls. XD

    Just kidding, naturally.

Very cool. Interesting timing for this release though just the other day in the news I saw the 'real' worlds smallest robot. It was extremly tiny and could walk on water simular to some insect it was designed to mimic.
I cant quite remember where that was designed though maybe someone else recalls seeing it in the news.
