mediatemple.net - warning

I had been using mediatemple.net for a few number of years to host many of my websites - service was good at the beginning but as time went on the service and downtime got worse. Their servers would go down for days on end, MYSQL tables would just disappear and they are downright tight fisted when it comes to bandwidth - 40 lousy GBs of bandwidth per month for $70.
Anyway, I had a few accounts with media temple and sought to close one account. After logging into my account center at media temple to thank them and close my account, they sent me a mail saying that I can only close the account by phoning them up. Excuse me? I called them up but they told me to call again at 3AM my time in Japan. Yeah right. I told the kind gentleman on the other end of the phone that I was wasting money not only by calling him but also because I was spending time on the phone with him.
The kind gentleman then went to send me another mail asking me to call in. This is the true face of media temple - behind the cool looking website is a customer un centric pile of steaming horse cack (with bits of hay).
"Enough of this shit" I thought and got myself another dedicated box at ev1servers.net and moved all my sites from media temple to my new box. I have a few boxes at ev1 which cost $99 US per month - you can stick on unlimited amount of website's and get 1000GB worth of bandwidth per month.
I have some other boxes at ev1 which cost $200 per month but you get unlimited bandwidth - the affiliate commissions on these sites pay for the boxes which is good (the commissions also pay my mortgage which is also good ;-)
Anyway, those lovely folks at media temple have been constantly trying to charge my credit cards but they probably wont get far as I ever so accidentally changed the card numbers that they have on file.
I simply refuse to waste my time calling these people just to close my account. If they can let me log into my account, change billing address, credit cards and the like, I dont see why they dont let me close the account online too.
But you and I know why they do this - make it as bothersome as possible for the client in the hope that they just keep the account open - complete fools.
So here is a list of the web hosting companies I have used.
Hostway - just plain shit - I cant remember why they were shit but when I do a thesaurus search in my brain for "Hostway", "shit" comes up as the first result.
Ipowerweb - they charge you for stuff you have not ordered. Great business model.
Media temple - the brown stuff that you scrape off the bottom of your shoe after a stroll though a pig sty.
Ev1servers - the hosting company that I use now. The service is OK but they do have some planks of wood working for them who are just not customer centric at all.
