What Japan Thinks shows us results from a survey taken from Japanese men who were asked what the first thing they would do if they turned into a woman.
From the results I see that many Japanese men were lying - none of them answered "play with my eyes."
What is the first thing you would do if you woke up as a woman?
The same question for the ladies - you wake up as a man.

well... it's not as much fun as you might imagine. Sure toilet visits are easier (specially if you are in a forest), but sometimes it can be a bit tricky to empty the "pipe" and once you think you have, you realise that the pressure from the pants did locate an additional drop. You can feel it but it's too late to do anything about it :(
Also if you do stuff like running, it can hit the other legs, specially if you are wearing boxers. The worst can actually be "the bag". If you get sweaty during the summer, it can stick to your leg. If you don't realise this then the skin can get so wet of sweat that it is damaged and you go all red and it really itches. This means it really matters with your choice of underwear (boxers are no good here either).

Funny enough, this is what I kept thinking when I was younger... I would be a very ecchi woman, I tells ya. I still think about it now and then, especially with all sorts of manga, anime and eroge that deals with this situation, X-Change, Ranma 1/2, Your & My Secret. I do use make-up from time to time when giving speech in seminar & during some high social functions, but not as daily as girls do ^^;

I can honestly say that I wouldn't mess with makeup. I don't like girls with makeup because not only is it possibly dangerous (allergy, environmental unfriendly, possibly harmful), it's also unnatural and it could end up getting stuck to me. It's also expensive and if she wants to pay money to impress me, then the money could be spent much more efficiently.

Make up can be helpful in some ways too, I use it as another sunblock when the sun is too intense (also helpful for dust and other disgusting substance in the air) and nowadays there are gentler brands that don't generate or give allergies. But yes I also never liked make up, although for a more practical reason. If it's powder it gets on everything and that pisses me off to no end.

Makeup isn't working as sunblock. The reason is that sunblock is about blocking UV light and makeup isn't designed for this. You should use something that's actually designed for blocking UV light. You can tell the difference in 20-30 since that is the timeframe it takes to develop skin cancer.
I don't see how makeup can be helpful against "dust and other disgusting substance in the air". The first thing that comes to my mind here is sod since it can be in the air and it's sticky and I can tell you this: it will stick to your skin, your nose, your throat, your cloth, your hair... you get the picture. No amount of makeup will change this. To be honest I prefer sod over makeup :P
Forgot to mention another reason for not using makeup. Long term usage produces wrinkles. This means girls, who use makeup for a long time will risk looking older when they are so old that they want to look younger than they are.

It does work when you combine it with other products, and it does keep my skin from dust but as I said I don't like make up since it gets on everything, I think it should be used only on special occasions and even then sparingly.

Makeup isn't that bad. o-o;; As long as they don't cake it on their face.. I wear a bit of makeup whenever I go out but I always put lotion on my face before I put the makeup on and then after wards when I get home I just wash it all off.. doesn't seem as harmful as you make it sound. e.e;

I know for a fact that all the dangers I mentioned are real. There are people suffering from them today. However since it's long term effects, I can't say if it's something that can happen with the current make up. It's still environmental unfriendly though.
I noticed another interesting issue here when reading the replies. Guys are against makeup while girls supports it. I know it's not a real survey considering the low number of people, but it atill makes you wonder. I was always told that the purpose of makeup is to impress guys. Now it looks like either this isn't the case or it backfires.

The problem I see is that even when guys say they don't like make up, it does enhance a girl's features and thus make her more pretty to everyone's eyes (of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder) and they don't care about make up right then because she looks so good.

I for one live by what I say. This means that I actually avoids girls who wear makeup.
I read in the newspaper the other day that the amount of teenagers who gets allergies because of makeup is rapidly increasing. The problem is that they don't know about the risk of allergies until it's too late and once they got it, they are allergic to way more than just makeup. Other stuff can be washing powder (imagine not being able to touch cloth or towels washed by other people), the smell of perfume from other people (this makes public transportation a big no no) and so on.

While men might be more likely to have body hair, it's not something for men only. Women can be hairy too. I think the difference is that women are more likely to cause themselves pain in order to remove hair.
I guess this means that if somebody wakes up as the other gender, then both genders risk being hairy... That's kind of scary. However you have to have "hairy genes" for this to happen so if you aren't hairy to begin with, then the risk is slim ^^

When this question comes up, Men always think about the advantages of it, but never the disadvantages ... for instance ... women on average, get paid less than men (even though men are nicer to women in the workplace than other men). To this day, there is still sexual discrimination, even if it is un-uttered. Some people just believe that men can inherently do it better. Also women are weaker than men (on average, I'm sure there are female body builders that could kick my ass!), and you can easily be overpowered by one and taken advantage of, especially walking home at night in the dark. When men have lots of girlfriends they are thought of as a stud. The other way around, and the women is thought of as a ... I'm sure you know what.
I'm sure there are other down-sides, but I didn't want to turn this thread into a "dark" thread , so I'll stop now ^_^;;.

I have never understood why we are supposed to treat boys and girls differently. It's just like boys are supposed to play soccer or whatever (depends on where you live). What if you just don't like sports?
I do know a story that could explain those views though. I once knew a family (or at least part of it), where the father wanted a boy to do manly stuff with. However they only got daughters so he did the manly stuff with one of the daughters (like model railroad and stuff like that). Eventually she became and adult and declared herself as a lesbian to him. He then killed himself because he believed he failed as a parent. I think the different treatment of boys and girls is based on fear of something like this happening.

To be honest I think it would take a while before I would notice. I guess everything would be normal until I would have to pee, then I would be surprised. I don't think I would freak out though. I'm usually pretty down to earth. I would be concerned though.
I guess I would be concerned with how I fit in in my daily life. Since I meet as many girls as I would on an all boy school (this is by chance, not by rules or my choice), then it would be somewhat hard to sneak in unnoticed.
If I had to end up as a woman for the rest of my life.... hmm, I guess I would end up with a skirt and possibly ponytails. I guess I wouldn't change much in what I do though (apart from look at girls)... and yes eventually I would be all over my body, I just don't think I would do that right away.
This is kind of weird to think about. I never though about it before, not even while playing x-change.

I love to make fun of these kinds of topics. When people assume they'd act a certain way when changing genders, they fail to take fact that there's an entirely different reign of hormones, and what ever some think they'd do will be most likely nullified in the instantaneous gender switch.

When boys are changed into girls at a young age (usually due to circumsization going wrong), the doctors considers it the best solution not to tell them and act like they have been born as girls. They end up being interested in girls anyway.
I wouldn't consider waking up as the other gender the same as getting an operation because if it were something that happens all of a sudden, then nobody decided on it. If it's somebody who decided to get an operation, then I presume they have gender related issues even before the operation.

I've read a lot of the comments thus far. So I'll tell everyone my take on this scenario. If I woke up suddenly, magically transformed into a woman. I'm so dense I probably wouldn't notice, at first. I'd look in the mirror, get in the shower, (wait for it) double back to the mirror. I would spend a long time looking at myself with a mixture of shock, awe, and wonder. Then I would slap myself to see if I was hallucinating. Regardless of the new hormones that would no doubt be influencing my mind, I would spend a long time "exploring". Not everyday something like this happens. Playing with eyes mandatory. If I had a choice for the sake of my back a size C in eyes instead of D. If it were to become permanent, I would have to deal with mood swings. I'm already a moody person, so this would probably not improve things. Then would be the monthly visit from "Auntie Flo". The higher pitched voice would take getting used to. The real fear of pregnancy(since I would likely be a lesbian this wouldn't be much of a problem). I think I would have to get a new circle of friends(women). To help teach me a few things so I don't make a fool of myself in public. As far as make-up, I'd go light with it. Clothes? Fancy would be what I'd go for(think of the cosplay possibilities). And lastly, if I look like the picture on the left I would use my looks to get free stuff and get away with anything I want. Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. >:D

I find the obsession with breasts hilarious. *Smirk* Honestly guys, boobs really aren't a big deal. They're just fatty appendages that you lug around without really noticing once you get used to them. You WILL notice them if you happen to decide to do a lot of running/jogging/exercise without a bra though. Not fun (no matter how big or small they may be). Also, since you haven't grown up dealing with it, the "monthly gift" will probably scar you for life the first time. XD If you're lucky enough to be pretty, you'll have to deal with leering guys who may treat you like nothing more than a piece of meat. If you're unfortunately unattractive, you'll find you have a much harder time getting a job or a significant other. True, guys who aren't "handsome" may encounter the same problem in terms of relationships, but girls are more likely to choose a guy's personality over appearance. You'd find you have more things to fear about such as pregnancy, rape, and becoming a victim of violence.
If I were turned into a guy, the first thing I'd do would be to test out my singing voice. I'd love to see what kind of voice it would be and if I could hit the lower notes I can never manage as a girl. =^_^=
