Server Recovery

Just to let you know that the server went down for a few hours today and took with it 7 hours worth of data with it orz.
So any posts/comment/puchi blurbs/profile changes since this morning are lost (sorry).
If your profiles or avatars look odd then go back to edit your profile and change your avatar again.

Also, I notice that comments from old posts attach to new posts for some reason - looking into.

Has been a good lesson for me though - will set up an rsync to back up the whole server every hour...

As an apology, I offer the lovely Mai Nishida - have not posted any idol stuff for ages. Love her bikini (?) top.

That's one of the most bizarre bikini tops I've ever seen. o.o Looks uncomfortable to me.

Seven hours worth? Yikes. Still, better than NaNoWriMo.org on October 1. On the official day of the relaunch of the site, the larger of the two main database servers had a complete hardware failure. Not only was a bunch of data lost, they had to restructure the site to run off of only one, smaller database. Sucked like a horseshoe.

Heheh... it's a funny story this morning when I saw DC.com and my article wasn't there. This was on an old mac with an old explorer so I didn't see this news til after.
