Hyakko

So what did you think about the first ep of Hyakko?
The animation is nice and the girls are cute but this was another show that I stopped watching half way through.
The first half of the show was taken up by two girls walking around a corridor and seemed to go on forever.
For those who watched till the end - does it get better?

But Hirano Aya-chans voice was as cute as ever - this image of her and more at Really Cute Asians.
Hyakko OP below.

I can understand why you didn't like the corridor bit, it really did go on for a while, but yes it did get better. The additional characters and the teacher certainly lived things up, but in all, not a lot happened really. Just a broken window.

One that only moves forward...and the other insanely strong and a bit speechless. Preview caught my interest. They will play baseball next week, I definitely have to watch it.

I always tend to watch 3 episodes before judging... and even so, there are some animes that only get good after 5+. Like Lain. Hunter x Hunter was kinda that way for me too... the first episodes were ok but not great.

So I'll wait some more before I start watching it...

Oh yeah, Aya Hirano is gorgeous as ever.

I watched it all the way through and liked it. It was the first school day/slice of life/comedy I've liked in a long time. I really don't get why people all over the internet are judging all the fall anime after just 1 episode. First episode is of course going to be slow since they have to introduce a lot of the people.

I just finished watching it and I liked it. The character designs aren't that bad and I did like some of the gags. Some of the facial expressions also make for good icons :) I'm not watching a whole lot right now so this will more than likely go into my "currently watching" rotation.

Hmm... I was almost bored in the beginning. I thought it might be a yuri anime from what I saw in the intro before the opening XD It does get better and funnier, but it's another slice-of-life anime it seems... Need something unique to make this stand out from the other slices-of-life methinks.

Yep it has a very slow beginning, which can be a disadvantage. I was also tempted to just drop it, but i'm a sucker for slice-for-life series, so I kept at it. It does get better once all the girls are presented (I loved the teacher and Torako).

Out of topic: why do all slice of life only have female characters? I really wish they had a more balanced cast.
