Wacom Pen Tablet

I've considered getting a tablet. Used to do graphics for fun. However, take the price and compare it with the impact it would have on my life and I quickly lost that idea. Now I'm just drawing in a sketch book. If I ever get back to doing graphics, I might get a tablet. For now, I'm going to stick with spending my money on figures and kits.

I have a graphire4 only use it to rest my wrist from time to time and to edit some little things..I love tablets.

I have tried one of the small 4x5 tablets and they are just too cramped for me. Wacom also is now making wide tablets 6x11 and 12x19 for those folks with wide screen monitors.

I have an intuos3 4x5... it costed me 700 USD in Brazil, that's the cheapest I could find. Things are pretty expensive here.

Oooh, thats a very nice tablet indeed. I got one a few years back, its a Wacom but i have had it soo long i forgot which one >_< But its dark blue, the pen it pressure sensitive with a rubber on the other end :P

i use a graphic tablet (monitor type) for work. its quite damaging on the eyes though.

However when it comes to drawings, I still prefer paper and pencil. It feels less restricted during the initial design process. I used to draw a lot, so I got myself an Intuos3 9x12. I stopped drawing for almost a year, but I'm getting back into it again. Wacom makes a great product. One of my dreams is to have enough extra cash to blow on a Cintiq monitor, so that I can draw directly on the screen.

I was thinking about getting one similar a while back but backed out at the last minute. Mainly as i wanted to focus on just getting my drawing skills better before forking out the cash.

Focusing on 3D design at the moment however.

Ah. You seen the Cintiq as well. I tried one of those during an IT fair here and those are absoutely awesome!

(Just that they are very expensive :( You can get a DSLR and some nice lens with it's price tag)

I own the same Wacom A5 pen tablet. Never used the mouse (I prefer the Apple bluetooth Mighty mouse). Use Photoshop mainly for photo artwork, Apperture for the pics i took with my Digicam, Image Ready for web graphics and Illustrator for the sketches.
One of my dreams (i have so many dreams) is to design shoes. You're very lucky to experience that.

It took a year to truely master, but I also had the advantage of working with automotive designers. Now that I've been using the cintiq for a year, I've almost lost my old tablet skills. Nice one! You made a great choice danny! Exactly the same one as mine although mine cost me a rediculous price of £200 from Amazon.uk!!!

Havnt had much time to use mine yet, but will be doing alot of illustrations and graphic work with it soon!

I would like a tablet but for 24,000 yen??! I'm broke and this will only be a distant dream for me...

I have a 4x6 Graphire 2 tablet for postworking my Poser images and i love it!
If you think using your mouse sucks on yours? Try it on mine, it bites the big one.(i still use it though)

Wacom is notoriously greed company. Wait till they drop driver dev/support for your model, then you will be pissed at what you paid. I paid $400 for the last one I bought and one year later they stopped supporting it.

Tablets are amazing, but sometimes the layer of... gray comes off my tablet... doesn't seem to affect the tablet though...

I have a genius PenSketch 12"x9"... and it's awesome! *_* and i prefered it over the wacoms beause of those damn buttons >_< how much ihate them >_<

I have the new Intuos4 now, and it's really the best you can get I think. If you're looking for one: seriously consider the Intuos4 if you can afford to buy. ^^;

Tablet is sure convinient but I only use it to color, Sketchin is still done traditionally by pencil and paper
