Elderly Japanese

Live Door reports that there are many over 50's in Japan that are into all things moe.
Akiba Blog spots a man who looks like hes over 50 looking at some moesome/eroge mags in akiba including MC Akushizu that you see pictured above.

As for me - I have no idea how long I will be interested in moe girlies but reckon its going to be for many years to come - currently 35.
Does anybody reckon they are the oldest person here who is into moe? And do you think you will ever give up on the moe girlies?

Speaking of moesome mags - this looks interesting - possibly educational.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

I'm currently 19 so the fact that i might one day give up on moe or even anime hasn't really dawned on me yet. After giving it a few minutes of thought I don't think i will ever give up on moe so long as i live.

It not the loli but the deep of the story that make Kodomo no Jikan a manga more toward adult then younger person. Sure, at first sight it very loli-ish but has you watch the story unfold you see the it much more deep then that.

Just turned 19 today (a couple hours ago, actually), and I have to say that I have no idea how long I'll be interested.

I *do* know I used to be into something so much I swore I would be until the day I die...and now I couldn't care less. So I'm well aware that I might lose interest at some point, and until then I'll just go with the flow. :P If I end up 50 and still interested, cool. If not, whatever.

the older generation otaku have what I call an acquired taste (albeit Im not that young anymore myself)

they like stuff like the original gundam even though they own the film on 8track, beta, VHS LD, MD, DVD, DVD remastered and soon to be bluray?

A newer show, though, Rosario and Vampire seems to be very popular with the older group. just plain old school ecchi appeal, I guess.

Damn, 47 here. I've always been a fan of cute. The ecchi stuff and the eroge, maybe not so much, but I do like romance-comedy type animes and I have a respectable figure collection. That's not to say that I don't have other hobbies. I'm into photography and dirt-biking as well. Heck, this is your one and only life that's happening right now. It's best to enjoy what you like. Im 18 years old but cant imagine turning older then 30 and still liking it.
I just wish there is a certain point in my life where i actually grow up or something...
On the other hand, it's fun while it lasts but being an otaku gets you a bad name as of lately.
Thus in my opinion being an otaku of this generation is diffrent then for example 10 years ago where anime was still being made by hard work and paint and not being mass produced.
The point im trying to make is that anime made 10 years from now will probarbly also totally diffrent and thus saying i would like it forever would be a wierd statement.
It happened to me before with videogames so i can imagine it happening again with anime.

Not really into cute anime/manga style girls doing erotic stuff so I'll never know. I love that style of art but yeah...I prefer real life women when it comes to that kind of thing. Speaking of eroge and whatnot, when it comes to doujinshi, what is the ratio of non-sexual content and just flat out fan fiction to the hentai, yuri, yaoi, etc when you go into the stores and conventions?
