Hobby Magazines

Seeing as sites like Figure GK have scans of this months (and previous months) hobby mags, do you still go and buy the paper version?
That link has scans of up n coming releases such as Nendoroid Miyafuji, Lucky Star girls, Tsuruya-san and this one of Reina. Anything here on your want list?
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.
If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

???Confused???
Lucky Star nendoroids, Code Geass girls, and do I see a new Shiranui Mai figure in the corner?...I feel the burn in my wallet already...I like the sculpt of Reina's body, but something about her face is off...isn't it done in co-op with Yamato?...

So tempted by that Reina! But I would totally buy the mags if I lived in Japan or something. I used to import mags a looooong time ago (not hobby mags just anime/jmusic type) but it turned out to be too expensive.

Not really speaking about hobby magazines themselves but for scanned magazines in general. There is just something about the feel of paper and flipping through a real paper magazine that the internet scans just can't give you.

Shakugan no SHANA set with the stretchy undies looks like fun^^ (yhe last pic), though I wonder how many stretches you could do before the 'elastic' went bang!

I ceased buying paper books since they themselves cost a few dollars and I instead put that money towards an actual figure. But I do still enjoy flipping through my old issues.

sorry for the double, I also passed in the Reina, I have the first/original and that's fine with me. QB getting kinda greedy, need to issue new characters instead of reposing older ones. But hey everyone else does it right?

Strike Witches, all Lucky Star figures and Taiga....
About hobby mags... I'd buy them if they weren't so FRAKING EXPENSIVE here in Brazil.
I just like to have mags to read when I'm not home, or even when I'm home but not at my computer.
Mangas and books are the same. Even though I could get them to read online or at my monitor, I just love to be able to go through the pages, to hold it in my hand.
And you know, it's also a way to give credit to photographers and writers.

It says Sakura Nanako by Megahouse - not familiar with her. I thought she looked nice too but am waiting for painted pics.

Only information I can find on it, is that it's an eroge by Haikuo Soft. Will be one to look out for, I like the gymnastic-like thing going on. Thanks.

On occasion, I buy Hobby Japan and Dengeki. I like having something physical to read from time to time.
And I always try to get Replicant and Figure Maniacs around event time as they show all the resin figures at the show and they often have some excellent tutorials. I developed my technique for painting eyes (the optical kind) from Figure maniacs!

At first look. I`ll have the Reina figure(the original with the sword, the other doesn`t convice me...)as sure I`m breath now, and the Kallen one looks nice too...

If I was living in Japan, probably I would buy the magazines too. Since that wasn't the case, I keep my resources for the figures only. After all owning the real thing is always better than a picture, or a bunch of pictures.
