When Building anything I always am wary of being swallowed by children. They are sneaky twerps and dont even chew before they swallow. I use lima beans and brussel sprouts as repellant. This could be on a box of nails, but its more likely something else that needs to be hammered.

It's probably an eyelet riveter. You use them, for example, to add brass eyelets for tent pegs to a sheet of canvas.
