I really really really regret not ordering this gorgeous figure of Alice. Searched on all the online stores in Japan - all sold out. The next think to do is to trek around Akihabara ToT.
What do you do when you missed out on a gorgeous figure?
Do you pay extra at the auctions or travel to other cities to look for it?

Got Queen's Gate Alice (nsfw) in yesterday. It's an awesome figure and a lot of fun to take pictures of too.

I would love to get this figure too- when I first saw it it was enough to get me to order and ship it over here to the states. Where did you get it? I am roughly 70 miles out of Philadelphia. Did you order?

Are they planning another wave of it in the future? If something I really want is out of stock I'll look all over for it or just wait until it gets re-released, maybe even risk ebay in the rare case.

  Though, sometimes it ends up being less. I just got a Sega Private Ocean clock on Yahoo Japan Auctions that with deputy fees is going to be like $130, as opposed to $179 with shipping on Himeya Shop.

    Oh, and my Alice ended up not costing so much, $80 shipped from Shopping Mall Japan/YHJ Auctions. It's about $10 over what I would've paid acquiring it from HLJ or Hobby Search.

wow.. she IS nicer than I imagined. Kinda having the opposite of "buyer's remorse, now."

When I miss a figure, I usually start trolling the auction sites daily to see if a figure is put up for 'buy it now' type of thing. I REALLY despise the bidding war.

I try not to buy from ebay or similar sites, you never know if they are pirated versions. I also try not to open too many accounts in different websites, for the sole purpose of preventing myself to over-spend ^^U

I am fortunate enough to live in LA near J-Town. I go to Anime Jungle and try my luck with their merchandise. I have found some stuff at reasonable prices (and some not so reasonable) that I can't find online anymore. For example I found danbooru, the carboard robot from Yotsuba for 23 bucks.
