Progress shots of the mascot character that Yuko Azami sensei and I am working on. Really pleased with the progress so far and cant wait to see her up on the site. These are not the final images and need a wee bit of tweaking though.
For those of you who cant stand sailor outfits then you may like her girl version stormtrooper armor. If you dont like armor then you may like the gundam girl version. And if all fails, then I'm sure you will like the bikini version - new sketches soon ^o^

    Hi Danny,

I was wondering how you went about colouring your mascot?

    Rii,
Are you talking about the color scheme or coloring? If its the coloring then I'll ask Yuko sensei as she done the artwork.

She's looks great Danny I'm also trying to draw my anime type characters but I've never been good at drawing still trying hard.
By the way did you use a graphics tablet to colour her? Because I find it very hard shading and highlighting the characters with a mouse very hard.

Yes I meant the colouring "process". On another note, now that you have a mascot can I go about making Danny Choo wallpaper?

Hmmm, tough poll question. Bunny outfit ala Haruhi-sama or maid outfit ala Mikuru-sama. Decisions, decisions. Did you ever settle on a name for her? She's looking great by the way.

Is it to early to start demanding an anime by Kyoto Animation?

Wow, she looks good! Yuko-san is doing a great job. I'm sure Yuko-san will make your mascot look good in any of the poll choices! It's a shame you didn't have "all of the above" in the poll.

Good ideas, wallpaper and figure kit would be nice...

The orange white, and blue color choices really blend nicely with the rest of the site. Her over all look is pretty simple without being to gaudy. Hopefully as her design evolves, she'll turn into a real cyber pop idol. ;)

And like I said before, when you think you've pinpointed her design, I want to do some fan art of her if you don't mind. ^^

I have a question danny! *raises hand*. For the Pencil lines during CG process, how did you refine the Line Art?
    - Adjust the levels and then refine?
    - Using the Pen tool to recreate the lines?
    :D

Btw, Its a really great, the CG is nice.

    Very nice!

It's still amusing to see that people want to have drawing lessons from you Danny, even if they should ask Azami-san about that.
I wonder what you would draw though ;)

I feel that the colors of her sailor fuku have been intentionally chosen to represent the ones used on the site (like Neato Neko noticed). lol.

I'll stay around to see the day by day changes!

Weird, her looks says "beautiful day," but i rarely get those... oh well. I agree with Andrew, cuz since you already got your d icon on her dress, a pendant or hairclip might work better. But it's your mascot, and she's turning out great nevertheless. I am really more into seeing her in the Stormtrooper outfit than her bikini. Bring it on! ^^

    djet0, Andrew,
At first we thought of different things like a broach but that turned out too small. The square used to look more of a diamond but that looked odd too. For now I will keep the logo but tweak the "d".

    D_Blade,
Yep - I thought I made it clear that it is Yuko sensei that does the artwork...

    Momaru, Alafista OTAKU, Windbell,
    ETA December 2007

    Maelstromm,
    Not right now ^^

    Demacrez,
Art work is done by Yuko sensei - I cant draw to save my life.

    Marcus Tyr,
Not too keen on cats myself...

    SG, iheartassassinmaids, CrazyAnimeTuga,
I will do an interview post and Yuko sensei will tell you all about it.

    Neato Neko,
    Sure thing ^^

    Gerbera04g,
Not yet - officially on air from the 20th.

    Edward,
    Wallpaper tool ready to roll out soon ^^;;;

    Leo,
    Not yet but soon.

    iheartassassinmaids,
Re wallpaper, go for it ^^

    Nice progress!
The colour scheme is really nice - fits in with the website pretty well.
As for costume suggestions, A trooper, maid, gundam gal, bikini (for the idol posts) and perhaps some kind of cute low cut maiko thing for the japan sections?

I think it looks like good progress. What I notice first off is the length of her torso vs her legs as the latter seem to be unflattering compared to the former? Strangely, only the color version hits me this way. This is art though so no need to be nit-picky I suppose. I think it's taking off well though.

    Maybe I wasn't clear, sorry.

Let's say for instance that I'm enjoying the C71 coverage so much that I just can't miss any new comment on it. I'm going to check in a couple of times during the day.
But hey! Holy crap... The first part of the coverage has more than a hundred photos in it... Scrolling down the page with the wheel of my mouse is going to be exhausting.
If only we could jump from the top of the page to the comment section with a single click... ^^

Like a hyperlink to the comment section or something...
