Otaku Cleanout title=

Even an Otaku has to clean up from time to time. I usually make a point of regularly throwing out the stuff I dont want so that I can find the stuff I do want. Sometimes I come across stuff that I'm not sure I need and end up putting it aside. Yesterday was the day where I threw the stuff away that I put aside and hadn't touched for months.

Nenmatsu Oo Souji (年末大掃除(ねんまつおおそうじ)) is the end of year event that most Japanese folk participate in - its the "clean-out-the-house-o-crap" / "wipe-skid-marks-from-the-ceiling" / "ah-I-found-a-mouldy-maggotty-piece-of-bread-under-the-pillow" / "aha-thats-where-we-put-the-dog. but-its-dead-now..." time of year where its out with the old and off to a fresh new start for the new year.
In midst of Cleaning out the living room which usually looks like this. When on earth will wo/mankind stop using wires? (including electrical wires)

Otaku Cleanout title=

Cleaning out the wires on the 3rd floor which normally resembles something like this.

Otaku Cleanout title=

Sorting figure n gundam accessories - most of these are GFF bits n pieces. Quite a waste actually. Bandai should have two GFF in the box and charge more instead of armor pieces. I guess their strategy is to get you to buy two of the same GFF but thats not exactly eco-friendly.

Otaku Cleanout title=

And then its time to deal with the books and brochures from events etc.

This is the last post for 2006 (Comike coverage tomorrow) and I thought I would take this opportunity to say a humungous thank you to all of you. Thanks to everyone who was with me this time last year and thanks to all those who joined this year - expect more Gundams, figurines, event coverage, trooping, idols and Japanism news in 2007 ^o^/

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.

uggh cleaning sucks...since i live alone i dont really do it unless i know im going to have guests, or since the landlords have it on the market if they say they are going to show it to a potential buyer. Also i dont accumulate much shit due to the fequecy at which i move, id hate to guess, but its well over once a year averaged out over my life, and im not even a military brat :(

Im a sucker for that 'zen' feeling of tidyness, so i can understand. My main problem now is not having enough space for my figures, and not being able to get rid of ones i am 'bored' with.

By the way - every time i load the site, it loads as normal, then freezes for about 5 seconds. The screen wont refresh during this period and the pixels 'smear'. Is anyone else having this problem?

Upcoming year cleanup? Sounds good to me!

I suggest putting some anime songs in the background while doing chores, it's much more stimulating to the senses, and gives you real motivation!

    Reflection,
Just activated your account - give it a go.

    Shin222,
Probably Obon festival in the summer.

    AndyH,
Smearing and freezing - you using IE?

    Gerbera04g,
Thats probably a Perfect Grade kit.

    Gordon Pekeur,
It does - but not on the menu screens. When you go and start playing a PS3 game then it works but you need a converter like this.

uggh cleaning sucks...since i live alone i dont really do it unless i know im going to have guests, or since the landlords have it on the market if they say they are going to show it to a potential buyer. Also i dont accumulate much shit due to the fequecy at which i move, id hate to guess, but its well over once a year averaged out over my life, and im not even a military brat :(

    Reflection,
Just activated your account - give it a go.

    Shin222,
Probably Obon festival in the summer.

    AndyH,
Smearing and freezing - you using IE?

    Gerbera04g,
Thats probably a Perfect Grade kit.

    Gordon Pekeur,
It does - but not on the menu screens. When you go and start playing a PS3 game then it works but you need a converter like this.

    Hey Danny,

Upcoming year cleanup? Sounds good to me!

I suggest putting some anime songs in the background while doing chores, it's much more stimulating to the senses, and gives you real motivation!

    Reflection,
Just activated your account - give it a go.

    Shin222,
Probably Obon festival in the summer.

    AndyH,
Smearing and freezing - you using IE?

    Gerbera04g,

    Gordon Pekeur,
It does - but not on the menu screens. When you go and start playing a PS3 game then it works but you need a converter like this.

Just wanted to say thank you Danny, for taking your time to deliver us such fascinating news about Japan that we otherwise would've never known about.

=D Thanks again, and my New Year resolution is to comment more, and stop being a lurker.

    Reflection,
Just activated your account - give it a go.

    Shin222,
Probably Obon festival in the summer.

    AndyH,
Smearing and freezing - you using IE?

    Gerbera04g,
Thats probably a Perfect Grade kit.

    Gordon Pekeur,
It does - but not on the menu screens. When you go and start playing a PS3 game then it works but you need a converter like this.
