Code Geass

Code Geass has been on air for just over two months now but I'm sure you can get previous episodes from yer trusty BT site. You can also get new episodes for free at Biglobe without subtitles.
The Britanian Empire thought that it should do what all empires do best and invade Japan with their legion of mechas called Nightmare Frames. "Japan" was too difficult to pronounce so they named it "11" and refer to the Japanese as "11's".
A Britanian called Lelouch is tired of all these shenanigans and wants an end to all of this. He chances upon a girl called C.C. who endows him with a power that just may help him...
The animation quality is top notch and I hope that it stays that way as I have noticed that the quality of many anime series tend to drop after the first 10 episodes. This is most likely due to cost reasons - the first batch are high quality and get the punters in - once they are hooked then serve them a pile of cold veal - they wouldn't mind because they are already hooked.
The music is gorgeous with what sounds like orchestral tracks. While many anime have dull moments in between, Geass is interesting to keep you glued to the screen for the whole 23 mins or so per episode.
The mechas look cool and if you liked Eureka Seven then Im sure you'll like these machines - they kinda look similar in design. Have not looked into the background of the production team but Code Geass and Eureka feel similar.
One of the things that makes this anime enjoyable to watch is the amount of cute girlies in it. Shirley Fenete, Millay Ashford, Kallen Stadtfeld and C.C are all most cutesome. I do prefer Kallen with her hair down though.
Have a look at the OP at YouTube to see if you like.
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

I'm already addicted to that series!
Lelouch has something different to the classical guys in shonen anime and those mechas are really something.
Well well, I'm going to watch the third episode soon!
Once again, Happy New Year to all!

@D_Blade you say Lelouch is different with other guys in shounnen series but i think he is like a clone of "Kira" Raito Yagami .Especialy the way they got trapped in the their own power.
This anime is so good that i cant stop screaming when i see the delay notice at the end of ep 23
Anyway there already have promo for the next eps , i can hardly wait

lol, This anime was good enough to get a friend of mine (who doesn't have a trace of otaku) to get hooked onto it.. The cliff hanger at episode 25 was very frustrating, I must say.. Might be a little noobish for me to ask this question- but any news of when the new season is going to be aired?

I use to buy every anime I saw, but my budget has been slimed down so I can only get the really really good ones. This anime is for sure in that really really good category!!! Can't wait for the US release, w00t!

Code Geass is the next best anime after Evangelion for me.
It's quite refreshing anime to watch just like I experienced when I first watch Evangelion many years ago.
