On that list I like Mario, Cloud, SS, Pikachu, Yoshi, and Yuna(luff her). Dante and Nero too. Haha. But Dante way more for several reasons:
1) Cooler.
2) Cooler.

Squall is, indeed, one of the best characters ever made, for any game *-*

Yay for Layton and Squall...as for my personal favorite game character...I can't think of it right now...I guess Mitsurugi (Gyakuten Saiban).

Also seemed weird to me, wasn't Doraemon more of an anime/manga character?

Cloud, Squall, Yuna, Chocobo, Pikachu, and Mario are one of my favorites. Still missing alot more.

Cloud is awesome and yet so incredibly lame at the same time. Squall is just plain lame (I really hated him). Yuna is only good in the first game; they ruined her in the sequel.

And I like Prince in Sands of Time (but not that Warrior Within BS). Kaiden Alenko in Mass Effect (so in love with him). Miles Edgeworth in Phoenix Wright. chaos in Xenosaga. Talim in Soul Calibur (so adorable).

Squall is there which is cool. But where's that lovable scamp Zidane and wise-ass Junpei?

Layton? As in professor Layton? Wow! I'm really impressed to see that up there as he's quite a recent character compared to say, Mario.

It's hard to say who my favorite game character is as I never really felt attached to too many of them...

I suppose it would be Sonic because - back then - he represented good fast paced platforming and the cheery Sega spirit which I loved as a kid.

For eroge i prefer the girl characters from seinarukana, especially Ikaruga Satuski and Katima Aigears, but that's because i'm really interested by heroic fantasy too :D

It's just weird to see Layton in the ranking too...

Wait, what? Chocobo? That isn't a game character, it's a species! Similarly, isn't Slime just some kind of monster race in Dragon Quest? It's like putting "human being" up there.

Japanese are hard to understand sometimes, especially when they put animals and talking weapons from Nanoha into a most moe anime girl voting tournament. You can't tell if they are making a joke out of the whole thing or are being very serious.

I'll never understand why Cloud is so popular. He was just the main character in one of the FF games. And it wasn't even close to the best game in the series. If anything, FF6's Kefka should be far more popular.

On personal favorites, I'd add Ben from Full Throttle- it's refreshing to play an adventure game where you don't have to puzzle out how to open a locked door- you can just kick it down. After that, Cassandra from Soul Calibur.

Of all of my favorite folks, Mario and Dante are my top favs. Mario.... grew up with his games! Dante.... I liked his coolness and I liked to finish the dmc games. Did so in every level like 100 times.

Mario's cool by me. I'm kind of out of the loop, on the others...

I'm surprised to see Toad/Kinopio so high on the list. I had no idea he was so popular.

Their are loads of characters out there but mine just has to be the Psycho Soldier Team in King of Fighters, then the AT-X and SRX team of Super Robot Taisen Original Generation, but mostly Ryusei Date for his Hissatsu Haou! Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth for revealing to me the true form of the Legal system and what its ideal is. The characters of Star Ocean: The Second Story. Lei Fang, Hitomi and Kukuro from Dead or Alive. KOSMOS and Telos from Xenosaga, Citan with his sword and when he's in his ultimate suit from Xenogears(Actually I prefer the suit...but in a fight Citan himself is cool enough for me). The Dynasty Warriors characters! The Wild Arms characters. Loved the whole series.
