Need some private space for health care but you got too many people in the house?
Well if you have a garden then you may be interested in this house in a box. Comes in two boxes weighing 41 Kg each and is currently being designed for emergency use. I would say that "health care" falls into "emergency use."
Not available to buy yet - official site here.
Cant remember where I got this news from but a bookmark for Long Countdown was next to this image I dug up in my "to blog" folder ^^;

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

    what makes this house interesting is the desing from the nomad people of mongolia, I cant see the support sticks but I bet they are made from bamboo, so they just used a very old desing for nomad people but with new materials, like cardboard, duct tape and plastic, I really hope that those materials have some protection to fire, because all the materials are very flammable

    Last time i went to Japan i saw a homeless person's cardboard house that was built with more widgets that i can count. it had sliding doors, windows that can be closed, water proofed by tarps, and here is the kicker. it had a satelite dish mounted on the side of the house. He even had a job! he just couldnt afford rent.. :P If i was homeless and had a shelter like that, i would be happy. haha =D Besides.. this cardboard house looks more reliable and comfy than a emergency tent :X.. you can even house more people in here :P I bet the cardboard sides are recyled cardboard with a lot of plastic fibers and wax to make it water proof!

    Looks very useful for disaster relief. All the materials you need to erect a temporary shelter is in that box and a truck can easily transport dozens of these. With some rolls of plastic sheeting and digging a small drain around the perimeter, you should be able to reasonably keep it from being flooded. Morever, it looks more spacious and comfortable than living in a tent.
