We talked about surgery the other day so today lets talk about makeup.
Question for boys: Do you prefer your girls with our without makeup.
Question for girls: What do you think about boys who wear make up - many boys in Japan do and I'm not talking about the folks on TV.
The Japanese word for "no makeup" is "suppin" [すっぴん]
Via Neta.

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

Meh, my Fiancee doesn't wear make-up. It doesn't make that big of a difference to me. The girl above though, has more that just make-up done to her. The first pictures looks like she just rolled outta bed. Let see her sans makeup but at least out of the shower and ready to start the day.

Speaking of the girl pictured above; I would hate to go out on a date with her looking like the "after" persona and then waking up in the morning with her "before" appearance.

If they have natural beauty, I guess a little makeup will do. Too heavy makeup just sort of turns people off though, I think just enough will do.

I think mascara is fine.. especially because the before and after look aren't drastically different. Imo, pimple cream > foundation and chapstick > lipstick. If they do it right, it'll look good. From what i know, girls like guys who are confident in the way they look, without excessive makeup covering up their true features. I wonder if guys are the same...

I'm not saying girls shouldn't wear makeup. But not all the time, I prefer the face to look natural, a little bit is ok though if you have bad skin/blemishes/scars. But It really turns me off seeing women with tons of mascara on, and a foot thick load of makeup on their face.

Yeah usually I don't put makeup, but whenever I try a bit of mascara and eyeliner, I have to remember not to scratch my eyes, which is hard sometimes lol. XP

Anyways, don't like to use makeup coz it's too troublesome, although sometimes it's fun (and want to look nice for my bf lol).. But just imagine one day your partner waking up in the morning, look at you and scream "who are you?!!". XD

I too prefer natural looks, if occasionally used I don't mind but excess makeup is just disaster. It's as if a newly painted bench in a park with a sign "do not sit/touch". Btw about the boys issue I too wonder what makeup they use, you consider face creams skin care products etc. as makeup or you really mean the makeup things womens use just like in the picture you've put which makes considerable changes in your looks?

I like when girls switch between no makeup and *some* makeup... that way us guys get some variety! (Sorry-- I know that probably sounds a little bit bad, but I mean it in a gentle, non-chauvinistic way). As for guys wearing makeup....well, it's definitely not for me! I was rather surprised to see the WIDE variety of beauty-care products available for men in Japan. Go to a pharmacy or even a convenience store like Family Mart or Lawson's. There are MANY choices.

If only we could somehow get this poll shown over the entire net... Maybe then we can destroy the tight hold the make-up industry has over our children. Sigh... As of yet, I don't see anyone that says they prefer makeup to "suppin". What if this was true for the majority of men all over the world??? I, for one, detest makeup's intent to make a person look different than what they truly are. It's the same as a woman wearing push-up bra or a guy stuffing a sock down their pants, etc., in that it's false and vain.

Definitely without makeup. I don't see why girls have to cover up what they were given in life. I don't care about looks, race, or body type. To me all women are beautiful. I preffer a girl with a good heart, than a smokin' hot stuck up girl who doesn't even know how to do math.

my girl wears light make up all the time. I DO prefer seeing her with light make up. it's not that she'll look fake or anything, but it just brings out more of how she looks I guess. one thing that my girl has always told me is that proper removal of make up and care for the skin is utmost important if cosmetic products are used. or not too much/too heavy make up will end up destroying the skin...

The girl in the picture looks much better with make up >_<
In the US I think that men prefer girls who look good even with out make up, and then wear a small amount of make up to look even better. Wearing too much make-up is trashy looking, but the ideal look isn't naturally occurring.
As for me, I wear make up about 50% of the time to work, 50% of the time when I go out with friends, and always when going out on a date, but never at home.
As for boys, there are guys in the US who wear eyeliner, but not much other makeup as far as I know. I personally wouldn't date a guy who wears make up. I find that weird.

If they have natural beauty, then little makeup will do. No need to put lot makeup, just put foundation and lipstick and style their hair.

For me, I don't like put makeup so much, I put foundation and lip balm because I have sensitive skin and dry. I think if girl have don't have natural beauty, they may wear makeup :3 and they want to impress their self and have confident.

I really wish more girls would lose the makeup. I'm fine with lip balm and a little blush on but not beyond that for girls.

I am amazed how makeup can really change the appearance of one person though. I rode a train once and there was this girl in front of me who looked like she just woke up. She was putting on makeup during the whole 1.5hour train ride and just before the train arrived she looked pretty and really brought out the features of her face. o_O
