Tokyo car purchase

Been living in Japan for about seven years now and have always believed that there is no real need to own a car in Tokyo - there are train stations literally everywhere and it really goes without saying that the transportation system over here runs like clock work - you can set your watch by the trains arrival/departure times.
There are times when using the trains can be a bit of a bother for times like when you need to carry loadsa stuff like shopping from Costco (yep we have Costco too) or when the trains are too crowded to get on with armor.
Made the purchase a few weeks ago and the car arrived today - will be letting you know about the fun and games that one has to go through to buy a car in Japan - starting with the drivers license - full post coming soon.
If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

If I had a spare 10,000 USD kicking around, I would buy a car and sell it with a higher cost!

Its got what a 1000cc 4 cyclinder engine uner the hood? Probably front wheel drive, maybe a 10 liter feuk tank, and around 30+ KPL (Kilometers per liter). I'd say that you have bought what i call a "Grocery getter" nothign fancy just somethign that cna zip you to the shops and back carry you and the wife and maybe a future kid or two in the back with enough room for their tiny legs. Good buy Danny, I wouldnt have picked anything different if I was in your shoes myself.

ive always liked these small economic cars but theyd be disastrous in the US because of SUVs. and if ever get a small car i'd like it to be something like this http://seriouswheels.com/cars/2007/top-2007-Nissan-NV200.htm
or (more realistically)
