Chuns's post reminded me of how much I want a Mamachapp doll.
This particular one of Meimoko will be given away to 3 lucky Magaret readers.

These Mamachapp dolls usually cost around 10,000 yen from the official site but you can find some on yahoo auction for over double the price.

Have a lookie at my previous Mama Chapp article to see how cute they are.
Do you have any dolls in your collection? I got Little Mermaid Ariel who sits back in the UK ^^

And also, how come I see many comments about dolls being scary but not about figures?

If you are interested in reading about life in Japan, seeing photos taken daily around Tokyo, like Japanese subculture (anime, manga, figures, Dollfies) then you may want to start delving into the Japan or Figure categories for a start or have a gander at all photo articles.

If you don't have much time now, maybe subscribe to the RSS Feed, Twitter Feed or join the other readers in the FaceBook Page.
Alternatively, you may want to read more about the site.
If you are a regular reader then this message will probably annoy you each time - hide it forever.

This item was posted in the Figures category. You can see more of everything else or subscribe via RSS instead.

The only thing I could think of that people would connect dolls and scariness together would be Child's Play http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child's_Play a cheesy horror movie that's had a few sequels, some not all too long ago either. I think too many people watched the movie when they were young and it affected them. These dolls are in no way scary though. They are quite cute, my wife will probably end up getting something like this sooner or later once she finds the one that she can't resist.

oh gosh so cuuuute! my favourite is actually still the school girl ones, oh gosh I'd kill to have those but those are just seriously over priced ^^;;; I'm glad my friend was willing to sell it to me at the price she bought at o_o; cos if she didn't she could make a pretty penny on it I think >_<; I must say they're really good quality too :O the clothing material is just exquisite!

mamachapp mokochan is too cute, but so expensive for such a tiny doll. i'll have to get one anyway, though and add her to my small (but growing!) doll family; http://www.flickr.com/photos/25356196@N08/2497437888/

lol at danny and is little ariel doll. :) and and and i dunno why i find dolls scary it might have something to do with the chucky films ? i dunno really. its the eyes those big eyes that stare right at you as if they can see your soul then when you turn your back they get you. *hides*

re: dolls being freaky and not figures... for me i think it's something about the eyes and hair... these have anime kinda eyes so they don't really creep me out... and i guess it's not that the hair creeps me out but it's the same sort of problem cosplayers face... hard to get that anime hair feel when you're dealing with find strands of hair.

Awwwww.... I want one too!!! So Cute!! But my budget would burst through the roof if I do start this hobby.

Either way, Mamachapp are like the only dolls that I'm not afraid off, mainly due to their likeness too anime characters I guess.

I guess people have a fear that dolls have souls and could stab your head while you are sleep, but figures are characters that they know, so they trust'em XD

I use a Mikuru "action doll" that I got on sale to help me with my art- checking poses, getting angles right and the like. It's pretty handy for it.

OMG I WANT IT!!! So cute..... I wanna big dollfie too.... ever since I saw them on Japanorama on BBC3. I would fork out £50 for a Mamachapp. It would be worth it. Since dollfies cost way more than that anyways lol.

Some people will find the eyes, the beautiful glass ones that dollfie have, creepy. The Child's play movie didnt affect me lol, didnt see it young enough.

Erm.. there are more spooky tales associated with dolls rather than figurines?

But i also wanted one of these dolls just that the pricing normally deter me away.. T_T
