Figure Spending

With my monthly saint cloth myth plus some other figure, I think I'm about 80€ spent every month for figures.

With the economic condition, pay somethind on the USA or in Japan by Internet is more efficient for us, little frenchy ^^

i've spent over 200$ on figures. i'm such a lightweight.

Taking all my orders from this time last year:

I've spent 273,619円 from HobbyLink Japan, 61,780円 from Play-Asia, $90 from Toyslogic, and around the same from Robert's Anime Corner Store, give or take.

Taking the total to around $3335.73 USD.

I dare not think about how much i've spent in the last 6 months since I started this hobby, as it's likely I would have a heartattack!

I dare not think about it either. My July haul added up to about $250-ish (Enterbrain Yoko, Kotobukiya Tabitha, Alter Enma Ai, Max Factory Tsuruya, and Jun Planning Misa Amane). Thats almost all the 'fun money' I allow myself to spend each month on my hobbies.

I must have spent a few thousand on my stuff over the last 5 years or so. I'm going to be doing major figure cleaning, shuffling, and reorganization in the next month or so (to prioritize favourites, take down some old ones, and keep the dust away for good with a brand new shelf with plexiglass door).

Not that much yet compared to many others. I'm sticking with figmas so far though so I suppose I save a little money :x

Around 1.200USD but I'm waiting for a loot for 500USD (LIke all of my wish list) I think that this time I've go too far but since is all of my wish list maybe I will stop there well that's what I want and always say to myself but who knows XD

Just looking at my collection, I know I topped over the $1K mark.

around $250 on gunpla. around $400 on figures and give or take $150 on other model kits and tools... all in the last month alone... gawd, I need a life.

Just a little over 2K SGD, and I actually spent more than that but not counted as I threw or gave away two figures recently that were of lousy quality or had broken.

And I will probably spend something like more than another 700 SGD from now till November.

Wow I thought I spent a lot. I stand corrected. I've been collecting for around 2 years or so and I've spent approximately $900. Could be more, but I don't think it's over $1300.

I see you live in England (eg in EU like me). But from where do you mostly buy your figures? From online shops in Japan and USA? Or are there any good online shops in England? (would save me from dealing with EU customs:P)

I'm seriously afraid to add them up...I know for sure it's over $1000....I'm leaning more towards $2000...and my pre-orders havn't even come in yet!!

I'll likely end up spending $250+ on figures this year (my first as a collector). I'm lucky enough to have the income but not the monthly expenses (i.e. rent) to afford this habit.

While I don't have a fixed budget, I don't feel comfortable spending more than $200(CAD) on figures per month. That is, since I purchased the FREEing Haruhi this month (and paid for shipping and import duties, I'm not like to buy any more figures for this month.

I should point out that I do not often purchase FREEing figures and these past few months have been highly unusual (I've been celebrating a recent salary raise). But I am enjoying these very much and will likely continue to collect this line in the future. And my $200max rule will still apply per month.

does Gunpla count? :D hmm not much maybe around 150 us, not much to spend since i'm in university right now.. some years, espeically on gunpla.. 1000 easy.. but compared to some of ya'll i'm a light weight.. and thats not a bad thing.. if you have it to spend.. go for it :D

Including small 1/10-scales, a few doubles, and a couple pillows/covers, approx $5250 USD (including tax/shipping). Or just under $200/month USD over the last 27 months. But no longer, gotta pay for the car and upgrade the house... T_T;;;

meh, I though I was crazy 4 years ago buying gundams, this year with figures alone I already bought:
- 4 revoltech (two was a frauelein)
- 3 Figures worth 5000 yen each and 3 more on their way
- 11 transformers

So if I don't want to be depressed on my spending, I don't count them at all. As long as I still can enjoy them.

Wow... so weird. I just replied to a comment on my blog asking how much I spend on my figures. And I really mean just, the last thing I did before reading this post.

I'm not 100% shure, but up to that pic I probably had spent over 1000 USDs. Figures are very expensive in Brazil, since they have to be imported from Japan, and apart from shipping costs, there are also import taxes.

I got them over a couple of years or more.

But last weekend I went overboard and spent more than that in a weekend only. I'm setting my new figures up now, gonna take some pics later, and then make a new version of this post. Lots of new goodies.

I'm gonna have to eat ramen or something for some months now that I'm completely broke, but just taking a look at all the figures I got will feed me. :P

hmm, i couldn't say every month, because it's not every month i preorders nor recieving the figures, in a year, hmm, around 300 US$ i think...

So far this year alone, since January 1st, I've spent exactly (since it's all on visa, etc) 4,533.83 CAD. I have another 450 or so in pre-orders, another 322.xx in 'currently shipped'. Plus I'll be going to japan, arg.

I don't even want to actually calculate how much I spend on figure alone if I add Gundam + video games easily over 5K in the past 2 years

no more than $60 on a figure (not include shipping)... and so far I have spent... I think close to 1k since last Dec.

lets see i spend about 90-100 USD every other month......unless special preorder that might range from 100-? USD.......example( glowing figure 2 payments of 178.50). so far i have around 30 figures ranging from 28 USD to 135 USD, excluding figures that have not arrived yet ( ink nijihara/queens gate, and glowing figure, and figma lucky stars x 2)

If I had money, I could imagine how many figures I would have!

in '06 i spent about $200, in '07 i spent about $3340, and this year so far only about $675. I worked lots more hours last year and had less bills to pay so i was able to spend more on figures each month. This year i've had to cut back :(

Actually I'm waiting for my most expensive figure: 149 USD Medicom Light Yagami.

If I factored in G.I. Joes I spent about $200 on them when I was younger. Only "figure" (a figure we'd discuss here) I own is a figma Nagato Yuki doll that I spent 1,900 yen at Amusement, while I was in Japan. I just can't justify spending a lot on something I would otherwise be embarrassed to have displayed. I just got the Nagoto figure because she is my favorite character. Oh, I got a nekomimi Mikuru from a vending machine... Cost me twice the amount of one (300 yen) since the first turn of the knob yielded nothing. :(

Most I spent was 35 bucks for a Maxfactory DX Lunamaria. I don't think I would spend over 40 on a figure though.

I've spent around $200-300 on figures since I've started following this site. I only buy figures for anime/games that I follow, and even then because of the high prices I only do it if the pose is really, really nice to me. A few times I have gone against this but the figure looked so good that I had to. :P

I only have about 11-12 figures, I always try to limit the number of figures I have since they can be expensive, I also try and look at which ones I pcik because I want to be able to enjoy for being well sculpted figures of my favorite characters.
Pre-orders are usually expensive (especially with added shipping), so I do try and pick some up with discounts or during special deals.

The most expensive figures I have are Good Smile Company's original Rider figure from "Fate/stay night" (in her servant battle outfit) sculpted by Yoshi and Fewture Models Faye Valentine from "Cowboy Bebop" (which is really huge) sculpted by Yukio Ageta. Each set me back 115 Euros. Add the other figures I have and I'm probably at 500-600 Euros total. Still doable I gather.

hm the most I've spent would be my Max Factory Shiranui Mai...I usually try to stay away from ones that cost over $100...unless it's REALLY good and limited...

Let's see... I started to collect PVC in April '08. So far I have 33 figures (ranging from a USD $20 Bome figure to a $175 Alter Exelica). I've spent approximately $1,600 so far, plus $200 on three Detolf glass cabinets.

The worse part is that I have another $1K in preorder for the rest of this year...

so far about €150, not much because there isn't that much figure sellers in Europe.

Hmmm. I've been able to hold off on figures for the past year since there wasn't really much that grabbed my attention. But this year there's a recent spike in my figure spending because of all the great figures that came out. I think I've spent over $400 on figures this year (not counting the preorders). 20-30% of that amount goes to shipping and tax. *sigh* Wish I could enjoy that SAFS phenomenon once in a while.

The most expensive figure I've bought is Max Factory WonderFest Summer 2007 exclusive Mai Shiranui.

In retrospect, though it was a rash and uninformed decision, it was probably the correct one. Since the shop only has one unit left, were I to go back to shop around online, it could very well be gone if I return the next evening.

I think I've spent over 200,000 yen in figures this year. So far, I'm pretty pleased with my collection. If I didn't spend on figures, I'll probably spend on something else, like stupid Age of Conan where I just played a little and gave up on it.

About $200, I think. It's not much, but my pace of buying is speeding up ^^

I keep track on my figurine purchase thoroughly. For year 2008, the figure should be around MYR 10,000 (about US$3,125 or YEN320,000) including pre-orders.

I usually spend around $60-100 a month for figures.
The most expensive one I got is only around $80 I believe.

I know I have spent (and will spend) a LOT on figures this year. Based on the amount of figures I have preordered I have been good (after the fact lol) so hopefully I won't be TOO poor lol.

Figures are not my vice, so I am safe from temptation.

Every time I make a trip to Akihabara I can expect to burn a hole in my pocket. I'm a sucker for Gundams and Revoltech T____T. So much cheaper to get them here in Japan though, ebay rips you off. stupid shipping fees....

The most I've spent on one figure, maybe $250 if I reaaaaly liked it I guess. The most I've spent thus far, is about $210 after customs and shipping to get my set of Aria trading figures that come with the limited edition of the new Aria PS2 game.

I think I've spent about $3000 USD on a collection of about 35 figures

I've been seriously collecting for a good 3.5 mos on it's way to 4. I have at least 132 figures. I have 12 fully paid preordered items. I plan on preordering/buying at least 30 various figures that are coming up or have been announced this year. On top of that, there will be a local sale of figs at my shop and who knows how much I will spend there.

The ammount I spend each month has become subtantially less now that I obtained most of the stuff that I want.
In total I spent er...around €700 including a few gunpla and revoltechs. Soon adding to that are pre-orders on Concert version Nagato Yuki, re-issue of Clare by Megahouse and vocaloid Rin by Good Smile. In the near future I'll probably get more gunpla and still need a tachikoma scale model. Having lost my part-time job it'll take me longer to get the things I want.
I stall them out on my bookcase because I like viewing them, their preserved value won't hold anyway so I'm not planning to get any fancy displays.

Hmm...I have spent about 400 dollars since January trying to get my figures. And in the next few months I can already foresee my wallet going almost empty with the new Vocaloid figurines coming out (Rin and Len 1/8 PVC in May, BRS in August and World Is Mine Miku in September). Hopefully I can get some part-time job when I am out of NS to help cope with my figure collecting hobby.

I have started collecting merchandise from anime/manga this year January and according to
"My Tsuki Board" i have spend totale ¥55670 all for PVC figures. and there 3 items are shipping ¥12100. The shipping cost of all those items was not included. Most peoples will think is trowing money away like mine parents and brother. But i feel really happy when i look at them.
Its like looking paintings art or something in a museum.

Sometimes you think it's just once in awhile, or just a little, but when you look back to your belongings, and count all of the values, it's actually give in a pretty much money if you sell them back(I won't though)

I think the max I've ever spent on figures was $570 US Dollars.

I've barely started my collection and the first figure I got cost me around $95, almost half of it was shipping costs and duties. =P

Heh, I've only just begun myself and I've only spent around roughly 229.00.
