        I agree on the figmas or even the revoltechs too. For the other figures that are in a permanent pose, this type of set up is pretty good.

    Looks like an interesting case. You can stack them upon each other. It's closed, so that should pretty much keep the dust off. The compact size also mean you can stack more figures, though it also mean you can't buy figures that are too tall.

    I have three Ikea Detolf cabinets which houses my figures. I'd probably need to buy a few more before the end of the year.

    Most people do not encase them all because it is a secondary priority and they are already poor from buying the merchandise ^^;

    It's harder to appreciate them from different angles when enclosed. I get them for interaction rather than museum-like collecting.

    I do...that is, until I get the chance to purchase one or two of the Ikea Detolf case. Part of the reason why I place the figures in the case is because I don't want them to be scattered about. ~looks around at messy room~ Kinda look like something exploded in here ^_^;

    At the moment have all my figures in the open, but I'm planning to buy a Detolf or two asap. But if I would have cases like those in the picture, I would only put two or three figs into one case, otherwise it's way too full! I think the figures need a lot of space to stand out nicely, so I'll probably end up putting only one or two figures on one shelf in Detolf. Meaning a lot will be left outside, unless I'll buy like ten Detolfs :D

      The worst part about an air purifier is the high cost of HEPA filters. I am curious whether or not they can be reused (probably not), or better yet, if alternative air purifiers are more cost-effective.

    most of my figures are in the open, but I do want a nice class case some day. As for dust...its there, you just have to do some dusting simple as that. I use a small paint brush to brush them off. The brush is stiff enough that it gets it all off, but its soft so it doesnt damage the figure.

    I have a few casses with glass doors, but they're reserved for my dragon statues that are breakable and harder to dust. All of my anime figures sit out in the open on shelves, bookcases, etc.

    I get yelled at a lot because I don't dust and they get really dusty. It's just so much of a hassle to dust with them. For me to dust I have to move EVERY figure off of every shelf. Then the figures themselves need a bucket bath, idea courtesy of my friend who has even more figures than I do. Just dunk them in a bucket of water, wiggle them around a bit, then put them on a towel to dry. I've done it before and got through about half my figures in one night, so it's an all day affair to clean. ><

    I'd love to post pictures of my room/collection, but I'm still working on the required number of comments to post a member news. I'm just.. shy about commenting. ._.;;

      Oh, forgot to add. I wouldn't like to have them encased like that anyway. I like displaying them out in the open where you can see the whole thing. My friend has a few in cases like those and you can't really see them well. I don't like my big wooden case because it only has glass on the front doors. The inside is rather dark and it's hard to see the dragon figures in the back. My other small thin case has two sides of glass so I can see my dragons from more angles and it gets light a lot better. Now if it were glass case all around, that'd be nice.

    If I had space, I'd keep each model in a nice little glass cabinet or in a cake stand - you know the ones with a wood base with a stem and a glass dome on top? ^_^
    But...
    ...Can I ask you folks what you use to clean them? Spray dusters like the one for your keyboard? Or do you wipe them? I spray dust them - when I have a can of spray duster available. The reasons are:
    1) I scarcely have the patience for wiping.
    2) I ruin more models than not when trying to dust them with classic "feather style" dusters.

    Well, I keep my Transformers packed away, mostly because I have too damn many to put anywhere. Bit my statuettes, almost all of my Psyducks and a few other items stay out. My museum-scale Timber Wolf from Armorcast [ http://www.armorcast.com if you're interested] and my dancing Psyduck sit on the desk, along with my two Megatrons, a stuffed bat, my moose, my Marvin the Martian Spin Pop and my Bobba Fett Pez dispenser. My four stuffed Psyducks and stuffed Meowth sit on the bookcase, as do my two Pokeballs holding the gold Pokemon cards (Mew and Togetic) aqlong with my MdConalds Rhydon toy.
    They are hard to clean (My mother smokes, so it's worse here) but at least I can wash the stuffed ones. Everything else gets a nice wipe down. Though, I've been told those Swiffer stick things work great.

    Before I comment on the cases... HAS ANYONE NOTICED THE NUMBER OF GM BOXES ON THE SIDE?!

    Anyway, I want to keep my figures in cases like those. My room is very dusty you see (I don't know exactly why though) but I still want to play with them. As of now I clean my figures using a small and soft paint brush once a week. I might not put them in cases if ever I solve the dust problem.

    I might buy cases but I'll use them to keep my Zoids collection. I have 30+ Zoids in my room and they collect dust like otaku in an anime convention! I clean them twice a year because it usually takes the whole day to clean them O_o

    I'd like to keep some of my figures in cases especially those cylinder cases where the stand rotates (like the ones you see in the malls). That would be cool for displaying your figures. ^^ I wouldn't put all my figures there though as I'd like to play with them sometimes.

    I don't like the case idea, looks like a prison. It defeats the whole purpose of those figmas.
    I wouldn't mind having a glass cabinet to keep my figures in, but I think I won't pay as much attention to them as I do now.
    Mine are placed on the shelf and I clean them when I'm free (usually twice a month). I think during the cleaning time you can enjoy your older figures which you may not have paid much attention to whilst on display.
    Looking at the figure alone is just not enough, you need to be able to touch it and observe from all angles, I believe.

I enjoy dusting the ones out in the open so I imagine your enjoyment factor would be a lot less if ALL your figures were locked up..

    I need to get me some of those Ikea glass cabinets. My cousins come over all the time and I'm the oldest by 9 years. I'm 20 right now, will be 21 on october 7th or the 8th if your on the eastern side of the planet, so the next oldest one is only 11. You can imagine what happens when 5 children all between 1 and 11 come into a room full of what they believe are toys. Not only that but they like to bring their friends over. I also have to watch out for my friends, they have the habit of wanting to pick up my figures without making sure their hands are clean. I have to keep on my toes all all times, having something like a glass cabinet would make it much easier to keep my figures safe.

    Depending on the condition of your area, you can have the figures in the open. My house is not enclosed with air condition. So, dust tends to accumulate a lot. Also the kind of figure is a factor. Gundams or any kind of robot figures are very delicate and intricate, they are difficult to clean. Figmas or Revoltechs are hardy and easy to clean.
