Work Music

I know that many of you listen to anime EPs/OPs and OSTs but is that only what you listen to? What do you listen to while working or doing general stuff on your computer?
I listen to radio stations picked up in http://shoutcast.org/ , anime tunes, 80's tunes, JPOP KPOP, and classical.
Lately I've been looking for something different to listen to - I like the tunes played at the end of the OP and end of the ED for Tetsuwan Birdy - kind of spacy ambient sounds.
I'm also looking for an MP3 of the hum of a spaceship - want to imagine myself working in deep space with that hum and occasional bleep or something - Google not kind to me and I dont suppose any of you have anything along these lines? ^^;
The image shows what I'm working on right now while listening to some Jazz. Video should be up later today.

I also listen to Jpop, English songs and occasional movie/anime/game OST tracks that I like. Even though I'm a Korean myself, I really don't like the Kpop stuffs as of late, not many varieties and mostly it's all R&B/Idol/rap lately -_-

I actually listen to a WIDE range of music. Typically though a lot of it is American Rock. But if I'm trying to find something for the background while I work on some animation at school I'll put on some orchestrated music. (whatever i can find like that) It actually tends to help a bit more.

Space ship ambient hum?? hmm ... only one group comes to mind.. Aphex Twins. They have a blend of house but also do a lot of ambient music as well. Cant really recommend a single cd off the top of my head. Try the wipeout OSTs or any old school space themed anime OSTs.I listen to poppy stuff. Im slowly infecting my co-workers with CAPSULE. great japanese elctronic duo. Highly recommend them, especially the Sugarless Girl album. Lounge Design Killers was great as well.

- Anime Official Soundtracks (Recently being Macross Frontier & MS Igloo)
- A State of Trance
- Anime OP/end tunes (Recently being Birdy the Mighty)
- mine and my friend's music (That we created)
- or game music (Last one being Universe at War and Touhou)

I tend to listen to Classic Art Rock (Genesis, Queen, Supertramp, 10cc), Anime music or mellow electronic stuff--pixie trance like James Holden and Nathan Fake is really great when you are trying to get some work done, because it's ignorable, but not boring. Takagi Masakatsu is good for that too.

I often listen to L'arc~en~Ciel. Other songs include old HKpop songs in the 80s or early 90s (i.e. Golden Age of HK music). My sister listens to the groups from Johnny's Entertainment (e.g. News, KATTUN, and Kanjan8), however she's slowly taking notice of Taiwan's side right now.

75% of the songs in my PC are Japanese. It's comprised of songs from anime and songs from the bands that sang the songs from the anime. I have all the albums of L'Arc~en~Ciel! XD
25% of the songs in my PC are songs without lyrics; BG music from games and the like.

I mostly listen to doujin music that is released at conventions and stuffs like from TAMUSIC, WAVE, RESOUND WAVE, SOUND HORIZON... I bring my music to work so it's the same everywhere. Some times I do listen to OP/ED or OST of anime or games (western games included).

I tend not to like most things mainstream or whats on the charts. When I'm at work its usually radio stations since my work mates can't stand my music. But I'll normally listen to a lot of jazz, and funk, and also plenty of classical music. My niche is swing music though, I normally play swing/easy listening music at gigs.
If your interested or don't have a clue about what I'm on about, I can post some examples.

Don´t really listen to music often when I work, because it distracts me. But maybe that has something to do with the fact that I listen to Linkin Park, Metallica, Disturbed and Rob Zombie ^^
Student, Gamer, Part-time EFSF Pilot
I hear pretty much every kind of much except for classical (it makes me sleepy) and house music (too damn mainstream).
If I have to pick my favourite genre - METAL!!! I'm a Metalhead.
But I also enjoy punk, bluegrass (John Butler FTW), psychobilly (Reverend Horton Heat FTW) and right now i'm REALLY getting into SKA (It has such a good, happy vibe to it).
Also, my Winamp states in the library that I have 319 Albums (4438 Tracks) from 159 Artists. And that's the regular albums, not compilations or OST's, so I got a HUGE library.

Last.fm is a pretty good source for music too. It has internet radio and it keeps track of the songs that you listen to. Mine is here http://www.last.fm/user/raptor_cZn/ ^^
I do use Shoutcast with my WinAmp player cause there are a lot of radio stations to choose from. Unfortunately, due to my crappy internet connection, most of the stations that I listen to (above 128kbps) will experience the buffering problem which gets annoying.

I also listen to anime tunes, 80's tunes, JPOP , and classical. But I like to listen to Eric Clapton, Frank Sinatra, Coldplay, and others. Good Songs to listen to are Viva La Vida Coldplay, Fly Me to the Moon-Frank SInatra, Ben E King - Stand By Me, Rihanna - Take a Bow, and I can not think of anymore right now. Yes I like a lot of genre of music.
