I know that many of you listen to anime EPs/OPs and OSTs but is that only what you listen to? What do you listen to while working or doing general stuff on your computer?

I listen to radio stations picked up in http://shoutcast.org/ , anime tunes, 80's tunes, JPOP KPOP, and classical.

Lately I've been looking for something different to listen to - I like the tunes played at the end of the OP and end of the ED for Tetsuwan Birdy - kind of spacy ambient sounds.
I'm also looking for an MP3 of the hum of a spaceship - want to imagine myself working in deep space with that hum and occasional bleep or something - Google not kind to me and I dont suppose any of you have anything along these lines? ^^;

The image shows what I'm working on right now while listening to some Jazz. Video should be up later today.

I actually listen to a WIDE range of music. Typically though a lot of it is American Rock. But if I'm trying to find something for the background while I work on some animation at school I'll put on some orchestrated music. (whatever i can find like that) It actually tends to help a bit more.

Space ship ambient hum?? hmm ... only one group comes to mind.. Aphex Twins. They have a blend of house but also do a lot of ambient music as well. Cant really recommend a single cd off the top of my head. Try the wipeout OSTs or any old school space themed anime OSTs.I listen to poppy stuff. Im slowly infecting my co-workers with CAPSULE. great japanese elctronic duo. Highly recommend them, especially the Sugarless Girl album. Lounge Design Killers was great as well.

    - Anime Official Soundtracks (Recently being Macross Frontier & MS Igloo)
    - A State of Trance
    - Anime OP/end tunes (Recently being Birdy the Mighty)
    - mine and my friend's music (That we created)

I hear pretty much every kind of much except for classical (it makes me sleepy) and house music (too damn mainstream).

If I have to pick my favourite genre - METAL!!! I'm a Metalhead.

But I also enjoy punk, bluegrass (John Butler FTW), psychobilly (Reverend Horton Heat FTW) and right now i'm REALLY getting into SKA (It has such a good, happy vibe to it).

Also, my Winamp states in the library that I have 319 Albums (4438 Tracks) from 159 Artists. And that's the regular albums, not compilations or OST's, so I got a HUGE library.

I have a huge variety of songs on my computer. Usually I put the player opn shuffle and if I don't like something I just skip a song. Or if there is something I really like I can even listen to the same song several times.

Danny, if you want space-y sounding stuff, you should check out the Converting Vegetarians (Other Side - CD2) album by Infected Mushroom. It's a type of psychedelic trance. http://www.last.fm/music/Infected+Mushroom/_/Elation+Station

Well, depends. I usually have the TV on either Discovery or History channel. When I had a job, I listened to most of my music collection. (Sample list: Metallica, Queen, Yoko Kano, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Weird Al, Star Wars soundtrack) Otherwise, it's a podcast (Most from the TWiT Network ( www.twit.tv )) or something random on the radio.

Before I got my mp3 I used to listen to http://www.japanaradio.com/index.php and I used to go to www.ethaimusic.com to listen to Thai music, especially this song: http://www.ethaimusic.com/lyrics/035.htm Sunshine Day by Bua Chompoo Ford (she's almost like a pop idol in Thailand or she used to be). But now I mostly listen to international music in over like 30 languages on my mp3 player ^^. Old, new school pretty much any genre except not much country. I'm not much of a country fan.

I listen to anime music that tends to have a rock, jazz, or ballad touch. I love listening to things like Macross (a combination of the original songs + Macross 7 songs), or songs from singers like LIA.

Apart from anime music, anything with a vocal jazz feel is a must have. I also listen to soundtracks from musicals! (Haven't met another anime lover that likes musicals yet.)
